I don't know why but it took me like five minutes (and finally looking it up on iqdb) to figure out what couple that was. I guess they made very little of an impression on me.

>>1990651

It's on Sadpanda but I don't see much need to look up all the GCs before I actually read the VN so I didn't look at them.

Here's a sample if you're curious.
>>
>>1990681
Did you simply skip through all their scenes or what? They're quite easily recognizable. There's the couch, too.
>>
>>1990681
I on the other hand wouldn't have recognized who that couple was until I noticed the earrings and identified black hair as sasa.

>How does /u/ feel about protagonists who aren't a sub in any route? Do you like to see flexible partners?

I wasn't aware that the majority of /u/ games were BDSM. Do you mean, actively pursuing a romantic partner instead of being pursued by one? Do you mean a butch/femme thing? (Of course, Yasumi's more femmey than Syouko, but it was definitely Yasumi doing the pursuing)
>>
>>1990745
I just meant in terms of sex scenes, it's always the protagonist in charge of giving sexual pleasure but never getting any back, so you don't get a chance to see them being vulnerable or submissive in a sexual sense.
>>
>>1990747
I'd think it was a little weird if the protagonist is never touched, unless there was a good explanation in her personality. I mean, lesbian sex is by nature more evenly balanced than pairings relying on I-penetrate-you-receive, and even in those you expect both parties to get pleasure out of it.

If the protagonist is a vampire or a stone butch or has some other explanation of why she doesn't want to be touched but derives enjoyment solely from touching someone else, it could be okay.

I may still be completely missing your point thoughs.
>>
>>1990747
In other words, it would be a protag who was firmly tachi. Nothing wrong with that.
>>
>>1990759
That's the term I was looking for but didn't know existed, thank you.
>>
The music in Yurirei, with the voices and all that, anyone know what that is or is called?

Like I want more of it but I don't know what to look for.

Closest I can think of is scat singing and that is still pretty far off.
>>
>>1990767
I think it's called mongolian throat singing.

You're looking for engrish
Here, have some on me:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2rV8oKWSdM
>>
>>1990759
I'm now even more confused, since in different places I see tachi/neko being used to mean:
- exactly the same as butch/femme, it's about who's more masculine
- solely about who's doing the pursuing romantically, a kitten is shy and gets caught by the other
And various other things. I've certainly not been hearing it said that a tachi is supposed to never receive sexual pleasure, what's the point in sex then?
>>
>>1990773
Seme/uke reversibility is one of the wonderful aspects of Yuri, my dear onee-sama.

And it can work. I can think of one example where only one side was on the receiving end. The protag is always the one receiving in Kanojo to Kanojo to Watashi no Nanoka (7 days with the ghost). Her two heroines are always the one teasing and pleasuring her. The person who made this said that he/she didn't like reversing and so, wrote it like that.
I personally find that reversing, especially in such a situation where one is so dominant in the relationship, is very delicious though. Shame we didn't get to see Anna flustered.

I tried playing this but the fonts are all screwed up. Its probably something I did the last time I tried to install an old rpg maker game on window 10, but I can't figure out how to fix it.
>>
>>1990773
If you're looking in English, you're pretty likely to see people using terms wrongly, especially where there's correlations to mislead them (like you'll find "doujin" being used to mean all ero manga).

The key point of the tachi role is being in control during sex. It doesn't mean they necessarily don't receive stimulation, but on one end of the Japanese lesbian "sexuality" spectrum there are tachi who don't want their partner doing that. It doesn't make sex pointless for them.

Reading J-MENT's twitter right now feels kinda bittersweet (my moon's shit so not sure about some things)

>10 years ago, Katahane nearing release
>CEO plays the trial, "This shit's great"
>preorder numbers arrive
>CEO, shocking everyone: "Welp, these numbers mean we're closing down"
>company insolvent, Katahane discs almost immediately relegated to the bargain bins in stores.
>come 2012, obtained rights to sell the soundtrack, released a new edition, 4k copies, for everyone who couldn't get their hands on it back then
>J: "Well, that duty's fulfilled, I suppose"
>2015, the remaining stock ends up at 10mile
>Put it on sale, sold out in less than a fucking hour, people who didn't get it asking if there's more
>"Maybe we should do a re-re-release or something?"
>"On that note, 10 years have passed and people still remember it, wow."
>Saw a dream that the game went on re-sale and everyone was excited and shit.
>Nothing to lose, asked the rights holder about the rights
>"A'ight, you can have 'em".
>"Seriously?!"
>So it's possible to release it now -> "What if we do a remaster version, cram lots of stuff in it and all?"
>"Go ahead!"

So that's how the 1280x720 remaster currently in the works came to be.

And right now 10mile's CEO, who previously said at GLF that there's a "60-70%" chance of a Vita version (J: "is it okay to say that?", CEO: "Yep, it's a great fucking game, I'm sure it can sell, everyone's waiting for it"), is in talks about said version and apparently there's a fifty-fifty chance and the biggest hindrance towards a Vita version are shitty sales of the original.
>>
Any difference between 2DJGAME and girlcelly?
>>
>>1991650
So now there's a chance that the game will be successful now, and that's why they're making a remaster, all right.
Perhaps 10 years ago times were still not mature enough for yuri? Or was it due to bad marketing? Sometimes that's the reason why something flops even if it's really good.
>>
>>1991674
Probably a case of the company sparing no expense because they felt they were developing the next genre masterpiece, but when the deadline hit they realized their overspending meant they needed impossible sale numbers to stay afloat and everything came crashing down.
>>
>>1991674
Probably more a matter of the difficulty of marketing it. For one thing you can't convey via marketing that it's good. People only believe that by going through it themselves or by reputation. Tarte's previous games were mediocre.
>>
>>1991650
Would've bought it but the het turned me off from it.
>>
>>1991690
yeah it's yuri but there's so much het and boring POV from crotchety old men to sit through.
>>
>>1991680
Well, social media weren't so popular back then, so now at least there's hope that it will also get some visibility through word of mouth.
>>
>>1991616
It's normally faster than this, but I think Tokyo Necro has a new engine so there might not be a tool that can extract the images.

It ought to have a chance of translation. It's probably the most impressive ADV in the last couple of years and it's straightforwardly enjoyable in a way that seems like it would go over well with a western audience. On the other hand, not many titles get localized and maybe, unless it had something like an anime, its profile in the west might stay low.
>>
>>1991650
This makes me pretty happy to read. Katahane is probably my favorite VN after yurirei.
>>
>>1991739
>probably the most impressive ADV in the last couple of years
If this is true, isn't this
>unless it had something like an anime
pretty much a given? Don't popular porn VNs tend to have non-porn anime/manga adaptations?
>>
I remember seeing that the artist of Katahane worked on another game. Was primarily het, but there were like half a dozen yuri side pairings. Forgot what it was.
>>
>>1991785
It's hard to make comparisons. The closest somewhat recent PC bishoujo game that's impressive in a similar sense was Mahoutsukai no Yoru and that doesn't have an anime.

Even it sells well, only a fraction of the high selling PC bishoujo games in the last few years have had anime adaptations.

And it would be pointless if Tokyo Necro got adapted like Grisaia or Walkure Romanze.

Pretty big spoilers
She has two mothers. There's a gate to Yomi that's on the island where the game's set. The red haired one, Miku, had rescued the other from being part of the ancient seal on the gate. She was in spirit form having long ago lost her own body so had to copy Miku's, so that's why the blonde one, Mirai, looks nearly the same. Then they had a daughter together, Kanae. After raising Kanae for several years away from the island (which Mirai can't leave), Miku goes back and chooses to become part of the seal on the gate. Several more years later Kanae comes in search of her. In most endings Mirai joins Miku in the seal, but there's one route where she and Kanae become lovers.

A bit nonplussed, but glad to know rather than angry or disgusted. Kanae's big objective in coming to the island was to find Miku but she'd learned that Miku was permanently part of the seal and that Mirai planned to join her (to stabilize the seal and stop anyone else being sacrificed to it). Kanae was already resistant to accepting that, and learning that Mirai was also her mother mostly just made her more determined to keep Mirai with her.

Are LPs of eroges allowed?

If not, I'll keep my hopes up for an anime. Nitroplus works do have a habit of geting animated adaptations and they're interested in the western market. Although I wouldn't mind getting a real copy since the cgs are so nice.
>>
>>1992315
> Are LPs of eroges allowed?

They should be, I saw a couple on youtube

Also I found a couple of Tokyo Necro ones already, though neither are very far into the VN and I don't know if either is doing an Ethica run
>>
>>1992315
They're generally banned on twitch, but on forums and youtube they get by (often with a bit of editing over the H scenes)
>>
>>1992360

really it's a matter of whether the people in charge care

the twitch mods are known to be extremely anal about the rules but youtube shouldn't give a fuck unless a video gets mass reported.

how slow-paced is the first flowers? Like katahane tier slow or do things actually happen that aren't introspection or making tea?

There's a main mystery that picks up somewhat into the game but you can bet there's a lot of tea and thinking about books between some scenes of your roommates holding your hand. It's not too slow though.

The demo for Flowers is out on Steam
http://store.steampowered.com/app/445440

Sadly... This doesn't really inspire confidence in full product. Just in few minutes of reading I've accross lots of typos, right-clicking out of config causes the sound to bug out, and for some reason text only uses half of the box which causes many of the lines go to second box awkwardly.
Also from what I heard from my moon-knowing friends, translation is pretty bad too.

IIRC, that's due to Mahoyo being the first installment of a series, it's the same reason why we apparently won't get a new Melty Blood or Tsukihime anime until its remake comes out, despite all of the mentioned games having the Type Moon name attached to them.

My only worry when JAST announced flowers was that we were getting the games by 2050. It never even crossed my mind that we could get a fuwanovel tier translation. When did they get this bad?

Damm you, IG! You slutty NTR company, this is what we get thanks to you giving your games to the first publisher who asks for them. We can't even hope for MG to save this since JAST has the license for all four chapters.

Just one, Phantom, which was made a bazillion years ago.

You may count the ; series and SoniComi, but that might be stretching it a bit since the former is a 5pb property and the latter only has the main character in common with the VN.

Nitro+Chiral has more luck with adaptations, but ask any fujoshi about them and you'll get them crying about how they butchered the original source.

JAST
>She is filled with certainty
>She holds no hesitation at hurting her partners
>Looking at this girl who has given the death penalty...
>... a slaughter of the spirit...
>...she is like the queen at the gallows

The story we've been told is that basically MangaGamer took Innocent Grey for granted, thinking IG would just wait patiently for them to make an offer on their own terms and would never look at the competition. But JAST made an offer first (still more than a year after Flowers first release, so it's not like JAST was jumping on it as soon as possible), and it was apparently interesting enough for IG that they accepted it.
>>
i had already posted my fansub of Flowers (with japanese text) a week before the demo got released & decided to upload the english version (for comparison).
i've been learning japanese by translating vns, so it was quite "interesting" comparing my subs to the demo.
(mind you that i've only been studying for 5 years and 1 year in translating, so i'm still an amateur at heart.)

official flowers demo:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWuSBJtBHsQ

my fansub of flowers demo:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPUd0on9578

i noticed areas where they worded things in a way that i could use and areas where they could've improved, especially the very last sentence in the game:

女の子を好きに為ったらいけないんですか?
Demo: Is it wrong to like girls?
Mine: Is it wrong if I fall in love with a girl?

that was heart breaking in a way... so reading everyone's complaints has made me a lot more alert of how i word stuff.

----------

and to all the people hatin' on the flowers translation (including myself personally since I fansubbed the demo),
there's a hell load of other vns that don't even see the light of day:

Hakuisei Ren'ai Shoukougun
Hakuisei Aijou Izonshou
Kimihane Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi Suru Ikkagetsu
Sakura no Uta
Tenshi-tachi no Yakusoku
Michael no Otome-tachi
Nyuu Jene!
Futari no Qualia
Hitori no Qualia
Kanojo to Kanojo to Watashi no Nanoka
Seisai no Resonance
Solfege
And way more...(manga, games, drama CDs)

TLDR; just be grateful that this flowers vn received any kind of translation in the first place.
the wording could be a whole lot better in the demo, but the most important thing is that you can understand it.

It's not much that MG took IG for granted, more like they already were dealing with other titles from them (like KnS 2 and the Noesis nukiges). MG isn't the kind of company to keep begging for titles to sit on them doing nothing (unlike JAST, seriously, they've been taking their sweet time with the Nitro+ games).
And until now, cases of VN publishers going after others partnerships has been unheard-of.

I'm just guessing, but I could bet the reason why IG gave flowers to JAST is because the previous titles released with MG (Kara no Shoujo, Cartagra) flopped really hard.
>>
>>1992616
>just be grateful that this flowers vn received any kind of translation in the first place.
That's a dangerous kind of mentality. If you keep accepting bad products, companies will keep making bad products. There's nothing to be grateful for.

>the wording could be a whole lot better in the demo, but the most important thing is that you can understand it.
"Wording" isn't even the biggest problem. I've read my fair share of manga and VNs that were translated by ESLs with no experience in translation, and while yes, bad wording really takes away from the experience, the most important thing in translation is its accuracy. As long as it's accurate, I can forgive poor grammar or syntax (in fan translations, of course, not in licensed games); after all, wording can be easily fixed if it's really that bad, all you need is a decent grasp on English/whatever language the translation is in. And Flowers' translation takes... some serious liberties, to put it mildly, at times.
>>
>>1992616
Keep in mind that, since you do it completely for free, people have lower expectation for your translation. Here we're talking about something that's supposed to have a professional translation, there are standards you must meet in that regard, especially since it doesn't exactly come off cheap, and people have all the rights to complain and be unhappy about the job they did, since they pay for it.

>>1992618
>Sounds like even Liarsoft were surprised at how it's done
This makes me really hopeful. Thank you.
>>
>>1992616
>but the most important thing is that you can understand it.
Except they can't properly, because JAST couldn't.

For example:
>(I came equipped with three books, ready to try this out.)
What Suoh actually means is that she's concluded it was because the culprit had got those three books that the culprit decided to test Suoh & co. (as the three books work as clues for the names of the 3 roommates)

>(It would be a funny coincidence if I'm wrong.)
She's actually thinking about the culprit having been amused by the coincidence, implying that was presumably what was behind the culprit's actions.

And it's apparently littered with mistakes like that, so you can't really understand the story with it translated this badly.
>>
>>1992620

Have you read Sound of Drop? Very accurate translation that is utter crap. Being accurate can still be wrong, unfortunately, as English isn't such an easy language. A word can be a correct translation and yet be the wrong translation based on context. If you know some decent English, you'll easily see all that in Sound of Drop though.

So yeah, you need a good translation and good editing, or else you just get a fucked up language flow and it's not fun at all. Some things feel natural and easy for native English people, or people who know the language very well, but aren't so obvious for people who have less exposure to the language. Think of "it's not" vs "it isn't". You can use both at any time, but they DO have different nuances. The first has it on "not", the second on "it". Then certain words imply certain things when they are used, and if that isn't happening it feels weird. And finally, if you translate too literally, it can just end up being incomprehensible. I suppose you could argue that in that case it's not an accurate translation anymore, but I don't think that's quite right. It's stuff the editor should mostly fix and a TLC afterwards should check if it's still "right".
>>
>>1992627
>A word can be a correct translation and yet be the wrong translation based on context.
That means it's not accurate. Accurate translation is a translation that provides the same meaning and the same context (or gets as close to "same" as it can) as the original text.
>>
>>1992623
oic. guess i should've paid attention to suoh's voice. gets kind scary when japanese omit subjects of sentences, especially in long sentences.

jesus, everyone's standards here are so freakin' high. how about we all take everything that's wrong with the flowers demo translation, add corrections and send it all to JAST before they embarrass themselves even further? i like drama.
>>
>>1992481

>>
>>1992633
>Peter Payne

>>
>>1992631
Expecting people to do their job right isn't exactly "having high standards".
There aren't fans translating for a thank you, these are, supposedly, professional translators who get paid for their work.
>>
>>1992631
They do omit the subject a lot but it's not like you can't figure it out based on other clues in the sentences. With enough practice, you will be able to understand without much effort. If you can't figure it out then either you need to work on your Japanese or the sentence itself isn't very well written.
>>
>>1992636
To be specific, there are cases where sentences are deliberately ambiguous but in cases where they're not, it's obvious to any reader who has a decent grasp on Japanese most of the time.
>>
>>1992616
Sis, if I didn't live in a country nobody would ever want to have business with I'd already be working on Qualias. My moon is mediocre, but I'd naturally bring in a few contacts of mine who know moon professionally.

>>
>>1992638
I wish I knew people who could read moon.

>>
>>1992639
Biggest problem's the hacking, unless somebody did that already. I got lucky with my game of choice, but it was a VN with a very simple engine.

I think there are enough Fate fans among the translators who'd pitch in if everything's organized for them. I might, too, if I ever get through the tediousness of the original game's grinding.
>>
>>1992572
Wait, have they got 王女 mixed up with 女王? It's "princess", not "queen".
>>
>>1992647
I'll have to double check but it could have been my mistake in transliteration.
>>
>>1992647
That might've been done intentionally. "Queen" produces a different image than "princess", especially since it's used with "death penalty" and "gallows". One is more cold, distant and royal, the other is often associated with being spoiled, naive and/or insolent.
Then again, the latter might have fit the character better. I don't know, I'm not familiar with them.
>>
>>1992642
>Biggest problem's the hacking, unless somebody did that already
It was done five months ago. The choke point right now seems to be the massive amount of text. The team that finally managed to crack it said they were restarting the complete translation from scratch (since whoever already translated before didn't feel like sharing), and last month they posted an update saying they were 10% in: https://iwakuraproductions.wordpress.com/2016/01/29/iwakura-ps-state-of-the-union/

>there are enough Fate fans among the translators who'd pitch in if everything's organized for them
I don't know. Fate/Hollow Ataraxia's fan translation must have taken more than half a decade.
>>
>>1992654
>since whoever already translated before didn't feel like sharing
That's a major dick move.
I know that one of the previous translators refused to share their hacking instruments, saying that "if you can't do it yourself, you won't understand these tools anyway and have no business translating this game", but why would they refuse to share the translation itself?
>>
>>1992616
Why would I be grateful for a shitty release? Thats like being grateful for cereal with nuggets of shit in it, rather than no cereal.

Also, capitalize I you lazy fuck.
>>
>>1992629

I meant it more like I wrote a bit further down. Words that are theoretically correct, but aren't really used in that situation, although they are not "wrong" per se either. Word choice.

If all of that is also "translation accuracy" it pretty much means that editing is super important as well, which would also go against what the anon I quoted wrote. (wording being not important as long as it's accurate would become paradox, which I suppose is a valid view on this)

It all simply goes hand in hand. A good TL needs good and well flowing English. Otherwise it won't be able to capture the original intention of the text.
>>
>>1992655
>why would they refuse to share the translation itself?
Looking into it, the same person who refused to share their hacking tools actually released their translation progress and posted it publicly (which is still up). The new team said the old translator "did not want to be involved", so they started their own translation from scratch instead.
>>
>>1992661
>wording being not important as long as it's accurate
I didn't say it wasn't important; I said I was willing to ignore it in favor of accuracy, since I'd rather read an accurate text with poor grammar and word flow than a perfectly worded text that tells a completely different story than the original.

Of course, terrible wording can hurt accuracy as well. But I'm talking specifically about cases where poor wording doesn't affect the storytelling in terms of accuracy, and therefore can be ignored.
>>
>>1992647
I've double checked and it is indeed 王女 and not 女王.

>>1992653
Funny you should mention spoiled because yes, the second line uses "spoiled" to describe her.
>>
>>1992653
I think IG would be sure about whether Princess was the image they wanted. It's not up to JAST to decide which image suits her best. I don't think the Japanese image of a Princess is all that different from what an English reader would conjure.
>>
>>1992676
My knowledge of whatever images and feelings different members of royalty invoke in Japanese readers is limited, so I'm not going to argue that. I was merely pointing out that it might have been an intentional move as opposed to a mistake.
>>
>>1992490
They've been subpar for awhile now. Their releasing games faster by not having their best employees working on them.

>>1992515
No, the translation is pretty bad.

>>1992529
The problem would be what to do about the first chapter in the series. Since JAST would have already released it, even if MangaGamer fixed it, they would be out alot of money, since I doubt fixing it up would result in many more sales. There's also the possibility that the series just might not sell well enough to continue working on.
>>
>>1992528
JAST would still own the license to the first game.
>>
Holy shit that translator not only has a poor grasp of moon, his writing is terrible as well.
Will he get fired if enough complaints come in?
>>
>>1992679
Regardless, my main issue with their translation isn't with Queen or Princess. It's with the fact that they more or less left out a huge part of that last sentence. How can I trust a translation that cuts vital lines out?
>>
>>1992591
It would just mean no more yuri from JAST, and if this is going to be their quality, then I'm fine with that.
>>
>>1992604
MangaGamer was busy working on other IG titles, and didn't want to ask for Flowers until they cleaned their plate. IG must've wanted Flowers out no matter who did it.
>>
>>1992618
The first Kara no Shoujo sold quite well eventually. It's sequel and Cartagra's sales have been mediocre though. Of course, the former happened after licensing Flowers to JAST.
>>
>>1992684
The translation's already done, and I doubt they'd put much effort into fixing it.
>>
>>1992691
It may be too late to fix the discs but it's easy enough to update steam games and they DO put out patches for games if people bitch enough. Better to raise complaints than to sit silently figuring that you doubt it's worth it.

Looking at spoilers, there's a yuri route between Rina and Yuumi but also a het ending for Rina. So the answer to "does it have any" should be yes, but "is it a game /u/ would like" probably less so.

Haven't played it though, just going off what I can dig up.

They might fix the worst errors, but that would be about all they've been known to do.
>>
>>1992684
How did you know the translator's shit? Who is the translator?
>>
>>1992663
I don't think either of those options are good. Poor grammar and word flow are going to sting no matter what. And a lot of people probably wouldn't even know if the story was changed or if the translation was inaccurate.

The thing is, visual novels really have so very little going for them such that if you make them a pain to read a lot of people aren't going to bother. Good English is very important.

One of the characters, Yumi, is a canon lesbian. She's in love with one of the heroines, Rina. When you go through Rina's route there's parts that switch to Yumi and Rina's perspective (instead of male protag). The player gets a choice from Rina's perspective that can lead either to her ending with the male protag or an ending where Rina chooses Yumi as more important and they become lovers (and have sex).

In the final route of the game (effectively the true end) it's also said that Yumi and Rina are living together in Tokyo. It's heard from Yumi's younger sister, who doesn't know for sure whether they're dating, but she suspects they are and thinks marriage is possible.

The way Yumi's lesbian is written is often mocking stupid cliches (such as the idea of lesbian characters getting involved in threesome scenes).

so the writing is good right? just not like lesbian who like mc dick in any other vn ?

Since JAST didn't port Flowers to a new engine, it's likely that some of Flowers bugs can't be fixed. That's why MangaGamer always ported Innocent Grey's games, and JAST didn't bother doing so.
>>
Has anyone tweeted IG about the problems with the Flowers demo? If enough people tweet them about it to their PR account ig_lily (even if it's in really simple English), then there's a chance they'll think twice about working with JAST again if only because they don't want the Flowers series to have a bad rep attached to it in the west.

The way she's characterized, the fact she's a lesbian and is not sexually or romantically attracted to men is a big point that the game wants to hammer home, and there's a nice sequence she gives about her sexuality where she's angry that people have any trouble understanding that.

Still, fundamentally it's a game about a harem MC and she's limited as a character by her connection to the overall story being that he's her love rival in a love triangle.

Thanks for the info.
Is the game fucked up as SubaHibi?
>>
>>1992576
Wow. What in the actual fuck happened to the translation? It was so terrible I couldn't even laugh at it.
>>
>>1992767
The story is linear. Choices only unlock extra scenes, they don't change anything.
>>
>>1992763
No. All the sex scenes are pure love and it's not denpa at all. But the backstory for the plot is fairly dark, involving a family that tried to keep their bloodline purer through inbreeding, treating their illegitimate children as sex slaves.

Even a cursory look at the translation and general grammar should reveal to them the reason nobody wanted to buy this.

No, seriously, do they not have playtesters? Beta testers? Anything? This is the video games industry, guys. Things like this don't fly without a lot of mocking and scorn.

I'm definitely going to send them an e-mail and tell them that despite the west's interest in yuri, JASTs horrible job will probably lead to bad sales.
>>
>>1992801
Don't be hyperbolic. Just tell them that you think the translation is bad. That you're disappointed. That it deserves better.
>>
>>1991810
>Even (if) it sells well,
Which it seems it didn't: 4th in Tech Gian's monthly sales estimate ranking and not a strong month either.

JAST strikes again.
>>
>>1992831
Just a hypothetical, but what if this is some ploy by JAST to hype up (be it bad or good) the release of flowers? I mean, the company has been in business for 20 years already. Maybe they got bored of their usual advertisement ways and just decided to Donald Trump it all.
>>
>>1992822
No.
>>
It might be too late to save Flowers from JAST, but maybe if we complain enough we can force them to hire a translator who is competent and actually cares for the game (like the onee-sama who did Kindred Spirits) to do a tlc.
>>
>>1992873
When the TL has so many errors sometimes it's easier (and cheaper) to do it from scratch. However, do you expect them to pay for that?
>>
>>1992929
They have done it before with Sumaga, they started over since the original translation was fuwanovel bad (and supposedly that was the initial reason for delaying it).
I think they did the same with Osadai, but I'm not sure so don't take my word for that.

It's been said many times before that Peter Payne doesn't really care for JAST finances since he is busy swimming in all that J-List money. So it shouldn't be a problem for them to delay Flowers and do a decent job on it.

Why does Dramatical Murder get an anime and not Kindred Spirits on the Roof. Smh
