There are lots of setups for what should be fantastic, '84-tier level jokes, but you're constantly pelted with little distractions nagging at your suspension of disbelief, like someone's flicking water in your face.

I just saw it as well. I'll give it a 3.5-4/10.
The good:
- Good special effects
- Some passable jokes
- Played the original theme song
- Had quite a few talented actors, some of which I wasn't even expecting to be in this.
The bad:
- Didn't really explain the villain and his motives very well. He was just kind of an asshole.
- Confusing/underdeveloped characters. I like Kate on SNL, but I really don't understand what was up with her character in this. She was just a cardboard cutout of a weird scientist.
Overall not a good movie, but not horrible either. I was expecting it to be at least on par with Dumb and Dumber To, and it was, so I wasn't disappointed. Honestly the effects alone put it above the original Ghostbusters, which is boring as fuck and not worth watching in 2016. If you want to cry about a good franchise being butchered, go rewatch The Last Airbender.

As a girl I'm probably biased but I'd give it 7.5 maybe 8/10. A lot of laugh out loud jokes that guys likely won't find funny. Chris Hemsworth was the stand out performer for me and the role reversal with the hunk playing the secretary was very clever and I'm still smiling about it now. Ending was no quite perfect but that's only a small part of it. Going to see it again with my mum tonight so will see if a second viewing changes my opinion.

Hey guys, let's be real for a moment. Critics always say it has nothing to do with the all female cast. I think they're right; there are many valid criticism for this piece of shit. I also don't think that if they did have a problem with the female cast, that would automatically make them sexist, or invalidate all of their legitimate other complaints. So I have no problem admitting what I never see other people saying -- that yes, indeed the fact feminists have forced their political agenda into this fucking movie in such a huge way IS a problem, and just one more of the many reasons why this movie is fucking garbage. I wish more people would stop acting like this aspect doesn't matter, when it's actually rather important, arguably the most important thing. Afterall, if nothing else the public can be expected to come away with this movie with one thing in mind: that all female casts (feminist takeovers / appropriation of white/male/nerd culture) are, in general, absolutely fine no matter what. That's wrong.
