I bought Mortimore's "director's cut" of Blood Heat, and hot fuckkk it's an improvement. I have a theory that it's set on the vestiges of the War, so I'll put it in the Faction mega once I'm sure the idea isn't contradicted in-story.

>>71922103
Have you already read any?
>>
>>71922204
No, add it in now. Based on what I've heard, it works. Please add to Mega.

Yes, but I haven't read any with Lolita yet. Does she only show up in the audios (of which, only Movers I've heard)?

What is the most straightforward way to buy the ebook of BHDC off of Jim?
>>
>>71922146
It really is good. I would start with Alien Bodies, and then Dead Romance, and go from there, throughout the Faction folder.

Also, read Seasons of War. It's so good.
>>
>>71922375
The nice thing about having /who/ open constantly is that you remain completely unaware of when /tv/ is being raided.
>>
>>71922279
>Does she only show up in the audios (of which, only Movers I've heard)?
Well first off, at least listen to A Labyrinth of Histories, Movers is only half the story. Second off, I've heard Lolita's in Head of State, but I've not read that yet.

I reread the Jenny Shirt bits. Pretty entertaining; I love the worldbuilding with the tree. I remember her return-character status confused me when I first read it, though; I think I'm just realizing she was the same girl as in the strangely-placed "Purple Hair" parts 1 and 2.

It's sort of heartwarming to see Faction Paradox live on in spirit in the current audios. I just wish Miles would learn to be less of a cunt so Big Finish or BBC Books or whoever would get him to write.
>>
>>71926838
desu he should have been the next showrunner instead of chinballs.
>>
>>71927108
Imagine Miles actually handling the micromanaging and maneuvering that comes with being the showrunner though. Guy breaks and retreats from the fandom at the sight of one bad DWM review, just imagine him having to deal with what Moffat faces everyday.
>>
I'm not unhappy that Capaldi went lighter for S9, but rewatching some of Into the Dalek, his curmudgeonly quasi-Malcolm Tucker phase was very funny.

>>
>>71927702
She was interesting. It was hard to get a view of her character, but I like how coolly she took the dangerous life of being a companion of that particular incarnation. And how, behind the coolness, there was real human fear.

Plus, her purple hair was rad.
>>
>>71923533
Thanks for that. Awesome, looking forward to the 8th Doctor stuff.
>>
So, there are a number of moments in New Who where the Doctor pulls guns on people, and obviously he's caused people to die. Hell, he tricked the Daleks into nuking their home planet.

Has he ever straight up iced somebody? Just pulled a gun on them then shot them in the head?

Bonus points for a projectile weapon (as opposed to some kind of laser) from Earth.

He ran around gunning down ice warriors with some weird heat rays in The Seeds of Death, disintegrated an Ogron that wasn't even attacking him in Day of the Daleks, although he had reason to expect it to and he also shot the Time Lord President but that was an accident. I don't think he's shot anyone in the show with an actual gun.

Favorite Nu-Who Stories
>Series 1
Dalek
>Series 2
The Impossible Planet - Satan's Pit
>Series 3
Gridlock (I have no idea why I love this episode so much but I just found it fascinating).
>Series 4
Midnight
>Series 4 Specials
Waters of Mars
>Series 5
The Pandorica Opens - The Big Bang
>Series 6
The God Complex (might be my favorite episode).
>Series 7
Asylum of Daleks/The Name of the Doctor (weird that I chose the first and last episodes of the season but I legitmately think they were my favorite).
>Series 8
Listen (probably second favorite episode of all time).
>Series 9
Face the Ravel - Heaven Sent - Hell Bent

Favorite Nu-Who Doctor
1st. War Doctor (thought John Hurt was masterful in his redition of the world weary doctor.
2nd. Tenth Doctor. While I originally wasn't a huge fan of his character, I love the idea of this Doctor having one of the shortest life spans (7-10 years) in combination with being one of the most human. Only Doctor to waste a regeneration to maintain his form.
3rd. Ninth Doctor - Underrated and taken too soon from this world. Absolutely fantastic.
4th. Tweflth Doctor - A great throwback to the cantakerous old man. Wasn't the biggest fan of his relationship with Clara.
5th. 11th Doctor comes in last, which isn't to say he's a character, just my least favorite version. He knew he was on his last regeneration and decided that he wanted to spend his final life being adored (hence the youth) and "forgetful" of the Time War because he didn't want to spend the remainder of his life with the regrets of the tenth doctor hanging over him.

I have a feeling Moffat will do something dramatic with River before he leaves; messing with pre-HoRS Nardole could theoretically do exactly that - the potential for a paradox is huge. If Nardole were to die or something bad were to happen to him (like becoming just a head early) that would have knock-on implications since River wouldn't have had the same Christmas adventure. She won't have been taken to the Singing Towers, and she won't have ended up sacrificing herself to save Ten.

Since River was introduced during RTD's era, the entirety of Moffat's era would then risk possibly being reset somehow... bringing us right back to a recently regenerated Eleven crashing his TARDIS just as it was in 2010, only with Chris Chibnall at the helm.

Moffat and co bought new cameras for series 5, and it's looked at least modestly presentable ever since.

>I think Magic Bullet just still has a monopoly on the Faction Paradox rights is all.
I don't think that's how it works, actually. The only reason they produced the Faction Paradox-series in the first place is because Miles at the time was interested in Egyptian-mythology and he was in the mood for writing about it (and because, I figure, Big Finish wasn't interested in producing it)

http://www.radiodramarevival.com/the-true-history-of-magic-bullet-an-interview-with-alan-stevens-producer-of-kaldor-city-and-faction-paradox-part-1-of-2/

I think the reason why we haven't had any Faction Paradox audios in the last 10 years is simply because Miles hasn't been interested in writing Faction Paradox audio in the last 10 years, not because of any right-issues.

Being the Doctor is tiring work, even for much younger guys like Matt Smith and David Tennant. 3 series will probably continue to be the average for NuWho Doctors.
>>
>>71940561
This is probably exactly how Tennant/RTD fans sounded.
>>
>>71940651
But its true this time.
>>
>>71940708
Sure it is.
>>
>>71940651
True, but they had less reason to think that based on the new showrunner's previous Doctor Who episodes. Chibnall's a whole different case in that regard.
>>
Would nuwho work if they did a few old who style serials, four to six episodes each?
>>
>>71940758
Children of Earth worked. But it'll have to be event television.
>>
>>71940561
S11 could be good because Chibnall will have had plenty of time to write it. The ones after? Nah that's where it'll be shit.

Osgood? She's smart, but she doesn't prance anywhere.

Moffat should lay off his femdom fetish though.

I associate it with too many shit stories to enjoy it properly.

Osgood is not really a woman at all. She is an autistic womanchild who plays 'dressup' and lives in a fantasy world because she has the personality of a dried dog turd.

She occasionally wears accessories that resemble the Doctor's. I don't know where the rest of your fanfic came from.

Objective list for best to worst doctor.

1st = Tom Baker as 4th Doctor

2nd = Peter Davison as 5th Doctor

3rd = David Tennant as 10th Doctor

4th = Patrick Troughton as the 2nd Doctor

5th = Jon Pertwee as the 3rd Doctor

6th = Christopher Eccleston as the 9th Doctor

7th = William Hartnell as the 1st Doctor

8th = Colin Baker as 6th Doctor

9th = Sylvester McCoy as 7th Doctor

From here its shit, everyone above I happily watch and enjoy, everything below I can watch without cringing myself to death

10th = Peter Capaldi as 12th Doctor

11th = Paul Mcgann as 8th Doctor

12th = John Hurt as War Doctor

13th = Matt Smith as 11th Doctor

I'm reading the Eleventh Doctor Vol 1...why did no one tell me how good this was? There's no "memey" characters, but there's still emotion, and somehow, this finds new ways to characterize the Eleventh Doctor, despite being an offshoot. Plus, it even adds character development to the TARDIS, despite the ship never saying a word. And there are three seperate companions, each with their own character traits and arcs. And none of them are "20-something feisty girls".

This may be one of Eleven's best seasons.
>>
>>71952568
And, just to be clear, I'm referring to the comics. Yes, the art is wonky at times, but eventually, you get used to it, and it adds to the expressiveness of the characters.

Have read quite a few of the 11th Doctor novels with Amy & Rory as companions (not sure if there any with Clara as companion desu).

The writers got the characters spot on - you can quite literally picture them saying those lines in a TV ep.
