What I hate about GRRM's worldbuilding, even more than how incredibly illogical the linguistics and migrations are, is how pointless it is.
In Tolkien's Middle Earth every town, village, mountain range and forest had a purpose and we got to visit it and meet characters from there several times (though I can't think of very much from Harad or Rhun, but there are plenty characters from there and their role is explained).
By comparison most of Essos looks like he just couldn't think how to end it so he kept drawing a big rectangle until he got to the end of the page, and occasionally put a random dot and a name somewhere.
The books get so much better if you imagine Reek as a cute femboy.

You don't get to be king just because you have some relation to someone who was king. The only people in the line of succession are people who are descendants of previous kings. The wife of a king can't inherit, and can only become regent. The brother of a king's wife certainly has no claim.
Tommen has no descendants. Joffery has no descendants. Robert has no (legitimate) descendants. Aerys has at least one descendant, Daenerys... but it's unclear if a woman has the right to claim the throne at all. Jon is probably also descended from Aerys, though there are reasons to doubt his legitimacy. There may be others.
