Saw it last night and this was the best part. Rest of the movie was pretty bland. Action scenes were fun to watch as expected when there's a shit ton of money/production but for the most part the movie wasn't that good. The quips were fucking annoying. Like when Bucky tells the black dude to move the seat up that was lol am i rite?

Relative to the entire Marvel universe of movies it most certainly is a quip. It's suppose to incite a laugh, and actually in that instant I did use it properly.

It was a funny observation or response to the seat being too far back. IT WAS SUPPOSE TO MAKE THE AUDIENCE LAUGH.

Scott burglarized a corporation because they were stealing money from their own employees.

He's not one to trust Big Brother in any form. The Sokovia Accords don't directly affect him, so he remains fairly lighthearted during the fight (as does Spider-Man for similar reasons), but he respects Captain America's decision to fight the power.

It had just the right amount of him getting really into it and being excited without being overbearing like Spidey was.
>>
>>69227594

That's all true, but I find Spider-Man's overbearing-ness to be endearing. It helps that he was only a part of this one part of the movie. It also helped that Tony told him off about it.
>>
>>69225133
This was my favorite line in all superhero movie history. Paul Rudds delivery perfectly summed up the absurdity of capeshit while still exhibiting an earnest appreciation of being involved. It gave me a hearty laugh and a big smile.

> Panther trying to slice Bucky's throat

It could have worked with another movie; even another 1980 movie (ESB is over twice as old as Peter is, to be fair), but Star Wars is so enduringly popular that it seemed disingenuous that Peter would assume it was obscure. Hell, given that the MCU seems to take place in "real time", more or less, Peter probably saw The Force Awakens a few months earlier.

I know Iron Man 3 touched on his PTSD issues but he seriously came off as clinically insane through most of the movie.
>>
>>69228337
Falcon is way better too. I hate war machine he's most shitty hero out there.
>>
>>69224485
Absolutely agree, more ant man when?
>>
>>69228999
it seems you missed agent 13
>>
>>69230620
His whole character arc in MCU is built on guilt, so when literally the whole world wants to guilt the Avengers for their collateral damage, yeah, I'd work wonders on him.
>>
>>69224485
>"I know you too, You're great!"
>>
>>69230650

I don't know if I'd call him "insane", but he was definitely not acting like the super-genius MIT valedictorian he's supposed to be. He was acting and talking like a dumb teenage girl
>>
>>69229494
They really missed an opportunity by not calling it 20x scale.
>>
>>69228601

Alien is great.

I prefer Cameron's work.
>>
>>69228999

this movie pretty much confirmed that the tv shows are non-canon as far as MCU goes as there wasn't even so much as a reference. i don't expect to see daredevil, but at least a reference would've been cool.
>>
>>69230170
it LOOKS slow. like looking up a plane as it lazily flies through the sky. if it was on the same level as you, it wouldve zoomed out of sight in half a second
>>
>>69230139

Sure thing, bucko.
>>
>>69225393
Is that show good? Or just BET-bait we wuz kangz bullshit?
>>
>>69230620
the accords. you know, the rules? remember that line about how the accords wouldnt let tony help them? and they didnt? thats why. he chose to be policed and he was and now its no longer up to him to decide whats right or what he should do. and also he didnt believe cap and thought he was just trying to protect bucky
>>
>>69230873
Are you retarded? No, seriously. A plane flying miles away will look like it's moving much slower than a plane flying right fucking next to you. Similarly, you might be able to sell that idea if antman was miles away, but he's right beside them. Being large doesn't alter your time perception nor the actual rate at which time is moving around you, you absolute retard
>>
>>69229685
The Raimi Spiderman films were the first to use the biological web. It has been used in other media since then, but traditionally he uses mechanical web shooters.
>>
>>69230965
>>69230170

He didn't want to hurt anyone, you complete total fucking moron.
>>
>>69230805

Well at least we agree he was way out of character with little good explanation.
>>
>>69230965
fine then. theres a lot more gravity affecting his body. a lot more mass to move. electric signals have to travel further

its still relative you fucking bitch
he looks slow to you, but from his point of view everyone else is just quicker

if he moved at normal speed you would be on here complaining that it looked too fake

>>69231033

Physics?
>>
>>69230170

The 'science' of Ant Man specifically is dodgy but bigger = slower is governed by the square cube law.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SquareCubeLaw

So a really big human (in theory and ignoring a whole load of other things) would move much more slowly than a nirmal human.
>>
Couldn't antman just go inside their ears and turn big and kill everyone
>>
>>69231183
Yes. He is extremely OP. He could have ants engulf a person and kill them.
>>
>>69231124
>the star of the film and established GOOD actor is paid more than the literal secretary who cant act
wow. what a fucking surprise. its an injustice. she should be getting paid the same as the lead despite not doing anywhere near the same amount of work, having anywhere near the same responsibilities, or having anywhere near the skill to carry an entire film

now im legitimately glad her contract ran out and wasnt renewed
>>
>>69230170
Why would you move at the same speed? Your nerve impulses can't travel any faster but have farther to travel.
>>
>>69231120

What are you doing mate? The effects you are describing would be so minimal as to be irrelevant.
>>
>>69231265

anyone else think cap and Sharon carter being romantic is kind of weird?

it's like

>haha I never went all the way with peggy, guess her niece is the next best thing

>>69229806
Thats from the comic

Except she wasnt black
>>
>>69230965
>Being large doesn't alter your time perception
It literally does, because brain signals travel at a fixed rate, and when you're big they have farther to go.

Being that giant would also kill you, because human flesh can't support that much weight without collapsing, but Pym Particles get around mass/durability issues.
>>
>>69231307
Yeah I thought there was something odd about that.
>>
>>69231033

Tony has always, from day one in Iron Man, acted on his emotions. He has only ever done what Tony wants to do. He flip-flops on political issues based on how he feels at that moment.

In Iron Man, he changes his company's policy because he feels guilty about Yinsen. He refuses the government to take his suits in 2 because he doesn't trust them (more on this later). In IM3, he blows up the suits just to win back Pepper, but had already reverted to building more suits by Ultron.

In Ultron, he builds living robots not once, but twice, without asking anyone else what they think because he feels like it. But since he feels bad about it by the time of Civil War, he reversed the stance he had in IM2, agreeing to nationalize World Peace.

Tony is a man of emotion. He's one of the only people in the MCU who *would* attack Bucky immediately after discovering he killed his parents. Anyone else would hesitate just enough because they knew Bucky was brainwashed.
>>
>>69231307

I was only made that they gave Cap's super iconic "No, you move" speech to a literally who side character.

wow
>>

>Being that giant would also kill you, because human flesh can't support that much weight without collapsing

Which I'm glad they addressed with the "I did it once. In a lab. And I passed out." line.
>>
>>69231307
Especially because they shared like, what, two scenes with even a hint of emotion?
>>
>>69231307
i find it weird that i was seemingly the only one afraid of someone ripping antmans suit when he was a giant
>>
>>69231387

There's acting on your emotions and being crazy like him. He wasn't even consistent within the movie.
>>
>>69230965
He'd look slower because his arm moving at X miles per hour would look a lot slower if his arm was huge, because X miles is suddenly a much smaller distance relative to him.

For example, if he walked at a normal human pace of 2mph at giant size, he'd look like he's going in slowmo.
>>
is it true they were originally going to set up natasha and cap.

would have been better than banner and Natasha which was fucking retarded.

also where the fuck is liv tyler.
>>

i like how youre replying to only me even though everyone else is calling you out for being dumb
>>
So why did Tony make a joke about Winter Soldier being the Manchurian Candidate and then 5 minutes later was blaming Bucky, not Hydra, for Winter Soldier killing his parents?
>>
>>69231171

I'm willing to ignore most of the physics violations of Ant-Man in the name of good fun, e.g., Hank saying you retain your mass while shrinking, yet apparently you don't because flying ants can support your weight.

But what seems weird is that Ant-Man gets stronger if he shrinks AND gets stronger when he's giant. It's clearly no longer a proportion thing, else he'd get weaker when he got larger (cuz he's increasing the space between his molecules?), but apparently he can just get stronger no matter what. Why not just make the suit a Strength Suit and leave it at that?
>>
>>69231586

Because he's insane and a shit character.
>>
>>69231601

I can answer that.

Pym Particles.
>>
>>69231396
They technically gave it to Peggy.
>>
>>69231586
It's an emotional reaction.
>>
>>69231261

That might slow your reaction time, but it wouldn't slow the actual speed your actions would take place at.

The massive increase in weight relative to muscle strength would make it harder to move anything quickly, but enlarged characters are not usually shown straining against the effort.
>>
>>69231586
he said he didnt care. bucky killed his mom. would you have a movie night with the guy who murdered your parents in cold blood because he was off his meds? eventually he'll find it in him to forgive bucky. he truly wasnt in control. but being angry despite knowing the facts is just him being human
>>

loved him in this movie. spider man was good too, exhibited the amount of fanboyism and inexperience of a teenager
>>
>>69231586
Because he just watched his mom and dad die by Bucky's hands and found out Cap knew and kept it from him. Sure, it's not logical to blame Bucky, but parental death is an emotional topic that people aren't particularly logical about.
Have you never lost someone close to you? It's not all that hard or crazy to redirect anger to any possible target when it's that deep a level of grief.
>>
>>69224485
The best argument for Tony and superhero regulation is actually Tony himself sperging out irrationally at the end of the movie.

These people are clearly too stupid to be trusted.
>>
>>69231510

*hasn't
>>
>>69231729

Convenient when he's spent the entire rest of the movie arguing about regulating people like him to stop him from doing what he tried to do.
>>
>>69231638

Ok, fine, but why can't he just Pym Particle himself up at normal human size? Shrinking and growing is useful, yes, but it seems he can't be powered up at normal size?

>Civil War is politics as adolescents misperceive social/global crisis. This has been going on for so long (ever since Hollywood realized the bounty to be had in cajoling comic-book culture’s ready audience; since, say, the 1978 Superman film, then 1989’s Batman) that, by now, the brainwashing is complete. The trivializing has grabbed such hold that when a genuine pop artist like Zack Snyder deepens comics lore into visionary, moral art (the profound Man of Steel and Batman v Superman), many fanboys, and critics, react with anger, resentment — and ignorance.

MARVELFAGS BTFO
>>
>>69231842
>why can't he just Pym Particle himself up at normal human size?

Pym Particles don't work that way.
>>
>>69231478
No it was supposed to be Hawkeye Widow but Whedon didnt want friends to fuck.
>>
>>69231769
Tell you what, let me show you a video of your parents (or just someone you care about if you have shitty parents) having their face shoved in and being strangled by someone a friend of yours has done nothing but protect no matter what. And then have said friend tell you he knew, but didn't tell you. I guarantee you wouldn't be calm and logical about it.
>>
>>69231842
So he doesn't Pym Particle overdose.
>>
>>69231860
>a genuine pop artist like Zack Snyder

>>69231912
why you gettin so defensive boy?

I wouldn't try to murder them.
>>
>>69231862

So Pym Particles make you stronk, but only if you change size?
Could he just grow like 6 inches and be Pymmed?
>>
Did Ant Man at all go sub atomic in this movie? Then make himself bigger again with one of his discs and DESPITE THE CREATOR OF BOTH SAYING YOU CANT COME BACK FROM SUB ATOMIC, HE MAKES A JUDGEMENT CALL ABOUT SOMETHING HE HAS NO IDEA ABOUT AND COMES BACK FROM THE SUB ATOMIC

FUCKING SHIT WRITING. HE COULD DESTROY LITERALLY ALL OF THEM IF HE UTILIZED THIS BUT I BET WERE EXPECTED TO JUST FORGET IT
>>
>>69231941

Wait, are you getting mad about something that didn't happen in the movie?
>>
>>69231900
doesn't matter

all it takes is some retarded faggot superhero to get irrationally pissy and shits fucked. tony accidentally proved himself right.
>>
>>69224643
>If you want to get to them, you'll have to go through me!
>Vision proceeds to literally go through him

heh
>>
>>69231933
Fair enough, I do hope most people have better morals than Tony Stark. I'm just trying to say it's enough to have anyone get upset and not act logically. It's not out of character at all for an emotional person like Stark.
>>
>>69231864
Well because that never happens IRL, I mean come on! Also why would you want a natural character progression when you can shoe horn in a secret fully formed family?
>>
>>69231941

Yes, because the airport fight was about KILLING and DESTROYING each other.

Of course. I completely understand your reasoned opinion.
