Yeah the horror scenes weren't that scary, 12 line to Clara saying he was scared was actually pretty good imo but it felt out of place since it didn't feel like there were any stakes or scares. Who knows though, I might have felt differently if I was a kid I guess.

There are some good episodes but it could have been so much more than it was. Most of the time they didn't handle any adult themes maturely, a lot of it was just over the top edge and blood and gore which made it feel more immature than Doctor Who ever was. What's weird is RTD said it was "very teenage to indulge yourself in blood and gore, and Torchwood is going to be smarter than that" But it wasn't most of the time. Imo the best episode was From Out Of The Rain because it felt more like a Doctor Who episode.
