I guarantee you a week or two ago, people were saying it was good. If you ask me personally, the only ones I didn't like were Ashildr's first two eps. Aside from that, and Sleep No More, which, even then, was highly overhated. The 3 part finale was good, with Face the Raven being fun, Heaven Sent being GOAT, and Hell Bent being an interpersonal goodbye to Clala. It brought back Gallifray and can easily bring it back again for future episodes. But I personally hope we don't get that and instead get an episode of an all new plot-free adventure. It's all about the tease, anon, it's all about the tease.

Yeah it's true. Everyone knows Moff actually is the most capable of handling the show. Of anyone, he *gets* Doctor Who the best.

I thought that both great episodes, (though he didn't write the Zygon Inversion, I don't think). But the thing is, he was a lot better when he wrote episodes like Blink and Girl in the Fireplace. Honestly, aside from Heaven Sent, I think his best, to this day, are still Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead.
Ever since he became showrunner, particularly post-series 5, he kind of lost some of that greatness. The entire River Song plotline in Series 6 was just all over the place and had a really unsatisfactory conclusion, and we all know what kind of a disaster Series 7 was (though to be fair, he was going through some series shit with the 50th planning in those days), but even still he's had some hiccups along the way. Not all of his episodes are as good, and when they are they're either just short of genius because he's too reserved to follow through and take risks like he could have with Hell Bent, or horrible like the climax of The Witch's Familiar. Both episodes were good, but they had a lot of shortcomings too.
And of course, it doesn't help his confidence that the show's fans blindly worship RTD and shit on his work because it's not as quirky anymore.
