Yes, tv is so good that literally every single /film/ regular wants the split.
Film can actually produce quality OC instead of circlejerking around reddit tier tv shows that pander to the lowest common denominator. If anything, the only reason why Star Wars/capeshit threads are rampant is because low IQ content (coming from tv shows mainly) allows them to stay on the board, preventing self moderation. Ask them if they have ever seen an episode of Dekalog.
I have no doubt that all the unfunny memes and spam comes from the /tv/ users too, or salty plebs trying to falseflag the intellectually superior film users. Again, mainstrean and "fun" content will be accepted in the /film/ board, but we'll contain it to a reasonable quantity and prioritize quality instead of shitposting.
We'll look at /mu/ and /lit/ to shape our /film/ board.
