When I saw The Wind Rises I suddenly felt inspired to continue my schooling and to write again.
Whisper of the Heart inspired me to keep writing romance comics, which I feel there really aren't enough of aimed at the male audience. I'm actually working on one where a computer whiz invents an AI gf because he doesn't have time for a real one because of his full time job and caring for his sick mother. Unlike most western takes on AI, she isn't malevolent, starts an uprising, or manipulating. They're genuinely in love and try to make it work.

Anon here who has an acquaintance that works on SU and who told you all about the Spring Event; Sorry, I was wrong about there being an event this week. As you can tell, CN doesn't know what they're doing at all and just changing on everyone. None of the crew are happy, but none of them want to rock the boat. Sugar is getting really frustrated. There was supposed to be an event, as shown by those placeholder TV schedules, but CN decided to go with Summer of Steven.
Anyway, I know none of you guys will believe me, but look at the new episode list. Two episodes between Watermelon Island and Barn Mates, like I said. Gem Drill still isn't going to solve the cluster issue either.

Like, they'll write and board a whole episode, bring it into pre-production, realize it's either not as good as they initially thought or their time would be better spent on something better, so it gets scrapped. Sometimes they get re-worked and re-tooled, but sometimes they just end up on the cutting room floor. It happens with a lot of shows, but usually nobody hears about it if it doesn't get past pre-production.

Which is weird when you think about it. After 2 Seasons, shows and the people employed to work on their shows are required by some law to get a larger budget and better benefits. It's why a lot of shows the network sees as 'meh' get 2 seasons and are then killed, like Young Justice. It's why Justice League had that spin-off show, that was the exact same thing, to get around that. You'd think that if they were going to have the same amount of episodes anyway, they'd just pay their workers less for the rest of Season 2, then order shorter Seasons 3-5.
