Dinobot is almost too obvious so saying him is almost too easy. Otherwise I'd say Tarantulas, but he, along with Megatron, had better Transmetal bodies. So I'll go with Terrorsaur.
Polar Claw is also one that'd make me go crazy. Along with Wolfang and Cybershark. Going into later stuff, Skyshadow was another huge favorite of mine.
Razorbeast is sort of borderline, he was prominent in the IDW miniseries, but that probably doesn't matter much to Takara. Still he feels like a standout of the non-show toys even beyond the comic appearance. He even had that reference on Fresh Prince.

I could sperg on about ko's and buying used goods along with people being cheap but there is no need to, if the line dies its because no one is showing enough interest, they'll wisen up and shift into more acceptable designs and will only die when there is literally no interest in what's left.
Maybe we'll be lucky enough to see car robots mp's, maybe the line will die when they become essentially generations toys, or worse when (somehow) mp inferno flops because people have become too used to smaller offerings and are disillusioned after mp shockwave, who knows.
All we can do to help is to decide when to buy and when not too, this shit isn't like video game forums where the loud mouthed sjw's are drowning out the paying crowd in what is good and what is bad, all they see is the cash flow from their products.

I don't think they'd devote a new mold to Tigatron unless the BW figures sold like mind-blowingly well and they decided to do the entire cast. Which I doubt will be the case so I think if they do Tigatron at all it'll be a slight retool of Cheetor.
But the MP line has gotten more and more invested in being super cartoon-accurate over time so it's possible they'll just skip Tigatron altogether because they might think reprinting Cheetor into what's supposed to be a way bigger character is bullshit but also not be in deep enough to give Tigatron a unique toy.
But I think most likely their love of repaints will win out.

The g1 toy was as dark as the 3p's posted, the color doesn't conform to the g1 toy as its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too light.
What we have needed to be just a tad darker which the stock images did using lighting, I suspect they can't do it due to limitations in plastic tint, as the diecast parts that are painted are more acceptable in tone.
So, therefore I highly suspect it just couldn't be darker unless they paint it, which they won't due to wear and tear+budget

Like when? Classics is still running, and at this point we've effectively gotten almost every 84 character in some form. It shows no signs of stopping and we'll probably continue to get the remaining characters eventually along with some redos. Alternators was focussed on just the cars, with the options for other vehicles being nixed early on. The Unicron Trilogy stuff mixed in homages with new stuff, but wasn't meant to be a new line. And the MP line just started covering more than just a handful of G1 bots only a little over 3 years ago. What are these other abandoned G1 lines you speak of?

I don't know if anyone was actually calling for 100% cartoon accuracy before we started getting it.

On the other MP soundwave does fit the bill of "sentient alien robot", the 3p's are too busy looking cool they forgot the soul.

In all fairness, it does work for other Shockwaves, namely the comic versions where he is more monotone and logic obsessed. But cartoon shockwave was more of a dork, really. and that's the more memorable version to me. Shockwave's design is one that's so easy to make into a generic robot that it amazes me how Takara just managed to capture a liveliness to it.
I've considered getting the Shackwave version Quakewave just as a generic robot to pose with other figures, but the price has inflated too much by now.

Sorta, the gun barrel becomes the backpack,but isn't animation accurate, the back of the legs become the gun butt which SHOULD of been the backpack, in short they REDUCED the parts forming, not totally cancelling it.
This simply means the alt mode is self contained but the robot look isn't perfect, requires some serious wizardry to get that right

If they colored the inside better it might be ok since the actual hasbro toy is grey on the inside only further exposing the gaps.

Classics (and it's dozen subvariants) has run on and off for 10 years because they keep deviating from neo-G1 to do BW, UT, IDW, rereredos, etc. Alternators deviated whether you have an excuse for it or not and took Binaltech down with it. Encore took a dive when poorfags screamed for city bots they didn't intend to actually buy and took 84/85 reissues with it. Now there's MP which deviated into awful Bayformer junk and is deviating again into BW with people screaming for Armada. As far as I'm concerned, Titan Wars with its everybody-is-a-headmaster-cuz-raisins gimmick deviates enough from Classics' original direction.
Seriously, we're constantly denied a full 84/85 redo. Even Classics, after 10 years and half a dozen design styles, still hasn't gotten there. Is it so much to ask for 20 toys that look like they belong together?

We get a handful of BW/UT figures every 5 years. Wow. Keep in mind they where in lines called "Universe" and "Generations", not classics. I'm sorry you think a 3-5toys every few years threatens the line, but considering we're still getting classics figures, it just goes to show that it hasn't killed the line, huh?
Hate to break it to you, but IDW was in the original Classics line too. Don's Jetfire design was one of the first. Hasbro uses a lot of comic artists to do freelance design for them so there's naturally a lot of crossover. Besides, the original Classics line was helter-skelter as far as looking like they belong together, anyway. Megatron, Starscream, Mirage, and Bubmlebee are all really different from eachother.

Alternators was never goign to give us a full 84/85 line up by nature of it being focussed on just cars, anyway. besides, licensing nightmares abounded. It was never going to please purists. At any rate, there where ay more issues that brought down Alternators than adding some new characters or making non-vehicle characters into vehicles.

We got TWO repaints of LEader figures from a subline like 5 years ago, then nothing more in the way of bayformer MPs. again, what? Pretty sure that was before they even decided to do the full 1984 line,anyway, which only became a plan after sideswipe in late 2012.

Not really, it goes for about $50-75. Manadarake had it for 5000 yen occasionally. Best to find it now before BW nostalgia really kicks in, though.
