>>
>>5690928
Why did people hate it?
>>
>>5690930
Those arms are inexcusable on a figure of this price for one thing. They don't even get to 90 degrees.
>>
>>5690930
The best actual reason to hate it are the joints. His elbows and knees are ratcheted for almost no reason, and greatly reduce posability. Also the area behind his head and shoulders is a big gap, but it doesn't really look bad in person.

I've seen some people complain about the backpack's size and that it doesn't stay tabbed in, but I feel like they're just not doing it right. I can pick mine up by the backpack and it doesn't budge. Also, the size is accurate, so I'm not sure what they were expecting.

I've seen some other review videos that bitch about some of the most autistic shit, which is par for the course.

Yes. Months ago. From Takara. While all the Hasbrocuck poorfags were going on and on making excuses about how Groove is inferior because he's out of scale and that the fugly clusterfuck chest Groove is better. Now those same poorfags are scrambling over a pre-order. Can't wait for the same thing to happen with Blast Off, if Hasbrocucks even DO get it.

Honestly I got Groovy with Takara and bought Rook anyway. I was originally intending to give Blades to Superion so I could have an all-white-limbed Defensor and have a complete Superion without having to buy Air Raid (Britbong you sees).

And then Blades, Groove and Alpha Bravo broke. So much for that plan.

Problematic phrasing that doesn't account for the feelings of others was used.
>>
>>5691006
I never understood how that issue happen: UW Groove was teased months before the CW Protectabots hit shelves. There was ample warning and it was a gift set meaning the hardcores that wanted the whole team should have gone that route.
Yet somehow everyone was ready to shit on Groove. But now that her became buyable everyone i scrambling to get him.
and it's online orders so Im really confused why they are fine blowing money on a single grove when they could have just spent 130ish back at release and gotten the whole team 7 months ago.

>>5691039
The HFG peg is too big for my hole, Onii-san!
>>
>>5691037
So the plastic is really thin on that port too, do you have any pics of it?
>>
For the person in the last thread:
The future Earth of "present" time Beast Wars is not in the same timeframe of the future Earth of BWII. "Present" BW takes place 300 years after Rebirth, while BWII takes place long enough ahead that nature has reclaimed the Earth.
>>
>>5691057
I actually returned the set, and unfortunately I can't find the picture I took when I returned it to TFS Express.

It wasn't hugely thin (not like the helicopter mold anyway) but it was very cheap and wanky plastic. I also wonder if the f act the port is hexagonal had something to do with it (corners being natural locations for stress fractures- hence why aircraft windows have rounded corners).

To be fair it's having the same issues as it did back in 87 where the market is just getting tired of the gimmick. Mix with the fact that Turtles and Super heroes are the hot thing with tweens and up it's no wonder the market is hurting.
I do find it funny 30 years later Hasbro is releasing Headmasters again when it was it's last strong line before the fallout of the brand that happen in the 1990s. Looks like 2020 will be the next radical take on the brand for awhile.

If they can solve the issue of distribution being fucked up by scalpers and retailers it could be a good thing. RIP in Pogroms wave 7 and 8 of DOTM
People like me are still getting fucked because I like the movie lines and they will most likely focus on G1 collectors and sideline the movie lines.
>>
>>5691327
Not a single one of those things works. And why are you talking about ultra magnus? UM isn't in there.
>>
>>5691330
Yes. Ninja Turtles was seen as the 80's giant killer but it was also Bat-man and DC. Marvel's X-men and Power rangers in 1992 paved the next major trend in toys and was seen as the TMNT killer, Batman stayed steady and was retired out for Superman TAS and Batman Beyond. This was also around the time Beast Wars showed up and brought life to the Transformer market.

I think Playmation is Hasbro's way of testing the waters for integrating children back into their brands. A console independent digitally interactive system that requires figures would be a game changer if it ever catches on.

RiD has the app and its needlessly large stickers, but the game is not engaging beyond the branding attached to it. Hasbro can't go the Skylander/Amiibo/Dimensions route since Disney's recent cancellation of Infinity reveals the instability of the Console based NFC integrated figure market. Those were only inarticulate statues. Engineering transforming figures would need a larger budget and a far greater risk.

That, or a Hassy Collector market for dying brands struggling to maintain relevancy for an aging and shrinking market.

Just wait until people from our generation start working at Hasbro. If literally who-tier action masters and micromasters can get homages, BW can too.

I already know if I ever manage to work for Hasbro, one of the first things I'd try to do is a Voyager Polar claw update. With an Automorph bat drone gimmick that turns it into a gun, better polar bear proportions, and the mutant mask gimmick made so that it comes down like a visor(or, works like Leader Jetfire's facemask).

Both in terms of shows and toys it was very Brave-like, yeah. Hot shot uses a pretty typical Brave car transformation. And of course Optimus' design is very Brave-esque.

Ever since that "Braveformers" image from takara(2010 molds repainted Brave style. Can't find the image), I've tossed around the idea of doing more like that. Not necessarily existing Brave characters, but repaints done in that style, maybe as new characters for a new Brave-style story.

The centerpiece would be a CW/UW combiner cobbled from the most brave-esque molds. Prowl, for the classic style face. Hot Spot for the torso, with a remolded Defensor head. Airraid for another limb. And Takara's nosecone as a leg for the GGG reference. Not sure what to use for the last limb.
