Groove-y Edition!

CW Groove is supposedly getting a wider release online on May 24th if you haven't gotten yours yet.

Old thread:
>>5687297

So I got CW Deluxe Groove in the mail from Amazon last evening. Just opened him. Current thoughts:
>like the paint apps and light piping for once
>two guns!
>kickstand hides in his forearm, like this a lot for some reason
>the way the wheels swivel to the insides of his legs is neat
>hfg port looks thick enough, as opposed to blades's
>chest ratchet feels a lot smoother when moving it, but has a little give in each position
>legs wouldn't initially close up right (you know the weird way most CW legs collapse), there was some mold flash on one of the peg slots in the shin, had to exacto a little out
>legs feel like they tab together wayy too tight, but also easy to separate for some reason?
>front wheel assembly feels really dangerous to rotate (not backpack, but the front wheel and pistons attached to it), feels like something's gonna twist off like sprues on a plamo kit
>don't even know the purpose of that part being able to rotate
>bike mode looks kinda odd, like it's a bit too long or stretched out- but I'm not a bike expert
>>
I wouldn't much worry- the previous CW exclusives got scalped but I can't tell you how many times I've seen loose Superions or Menasors in BSTs with those guys for really cheap prices for the set. Crap, someone had Menasor complete for $80 shipped last week.

I'm gonna get one at TFCon.
>>
>>5689357
That's the weird thing isn't it? Hard to find the dude, but people will clear out the whole team.
>>
>>5689352
No one's had the peg for the hand feet parts break?
>>
>>5689363

Odder thing is that people are selling them. These are some of the best TF releases hands down in years.
>>
>>5689359
CW Skylynx is really fun with Legends figures.
>>
>>5689352
I got mine yesterday too. He's nice, but he's replacing rook in defensor if only because rook is more fun to mess around with. I agree with most of what you pointed out, with a couple other things

>He seems like the right size for 1/12th stuff. I have figma labris riding him now and the scale looks about right.
>His back tire is wide as fuck. He actually balanced perfectly without the kickstand the first time I put him down on the table.
>>
>>5689383
The "seat" parts of mine's shins don't wanna tab into the pegs on the back of his body when in bike mode. Anyone else have that problem?

>>5689365
As in the port? I've only put the hfg in mine once so far, and I haven't used him on my Defensor yet. I'd hope it'd hold up a bit better, it's got thicker walls and stuff compared to the copter mold.
>>
>>5689410
>The "seat" parts of mine's shins don't wanna tab into the pegs on the back of his body when in bike mode. Anyone else have that problem?

Yeah, that was a pain in the ass to tab together the first time I transformed him. I don't know what changed, but it hasn't been an issue since. Are you sure the back section with his legs is lining up properly?
>>
>>5689374
some people just buy "flavor of the month" or impulse stuff, then need quick cash/empty shelf space to do it all over again a few months later.

>>
>>5689374
People are still in their "things where better 6 years ago" phase. In 5 years we'll see these lines the same way we do the 2010/RTS/Generations 1 lines now.
>>
>>5689423
I think so. It's clipping in a little better now.

the only reason I haven't got Sky Lynx is due to 1.) him only just recently in the past few weeks being released at Canadian retail and 2.) wanting to see what Takara Sky Reign is all about.
>>

That seems like a terrible waste of money.

So are beer, weed and cigarettes by that logic.
At least the toys can be resold.
>>
>>5689450
well wow, adults buying things marketed to kids can't handle money? How much shit is sold on BST so someone can pay rent because they blew it all on toys?

It's not even just toys, it seems to be childish things in general. Furries are really bad at this, they will pay $500 to get their "fursona" drawn having sex with cartoon characters, then they find themselves unable to buy food, pay rent or pay utilities and can't figure out why they are broke.

Video game collectors are even worse- they could emulate all those old games for free, yet they spend 80% of their income on trash and end up living in houses that look like shit.
>>
>>5689464
Beer is a waste of money. Hard alcohol is much better for getting the job done (assuming you drink to get drunk). Weed is a waste if you buy it on a regular basis (eg more than once a week). Fuck buying cigarettes ever. Smoking hold absolutely no appeal to me.

Honestly out of all my habits, buying TFs is probably the least damaging.

Whatever has the most 5mm holes.
>>
>>5689486
>>5689488
>>5689492
i think the criteria should be weapons included with the Transformer (as in you cant add other TF weapons on it) like with Hot Shot >>5689491
>>
>>5689479
TFsource is very slow, that's a major factor why it usually sells out of hot product last because it's about on the same speed as a Chinese storefront.
I shop with them a lot but it's gifts for friends, family and my wife because fuck waiting 2 weeks on a US order for something I want.

You'll get an email tommrow that the label is made and by Wednesday it should officially ship.
If you are West Coast expect 3 to 5 days
East coast expect 5 to 8
never lived mid states so I can't tell you how slow they are there.
>>
>>5689494
Even if you add in other weapons, he has two Mincon ports and two free hands for more guns.
>>
>>5689494
Optimus Primal (first one) and the ROTF Ironhide remold with all the 3mm clip weapons probably win out.

Although Primus has a lot too.
>>
>>5689494
AOE Hound and ROTF Recon Ironhide both have tons of weapons but idk if they can hold everything at once.

Generations Roadbuster has lots of weapons, too.
>>
>>5689483

Armada Megatron might not be #1, but probably up there. He has 5 million Mini-con ports and can even wear Tidal Wave as extra armor. Total overkill.

No, I live on much less than this Anon >>5689864 per month.

I just happen to live in a part of the country where rent is dirt cheap on an apt because there is literally nothing around here. The only expensive thing is heating bills, and those drop to nothing come spring/summer/up until about mid fall.

Downside is there is literally nothing around except for maybe some hicks in the copious forests and mountains making meth and moonshine.

I live in Louisiana (New Orleans). Back when I was renting, my wife (then girlfriend) and I had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment in the best part of town next to the mall and it was only $1,050 a month.

But I had a cousin of mine who left here and went to film school in LA. He said that shit was ridiculous. He and his wife had a flat in a decent part of town and were paying almost $1,500 a month.

Oh yeah LAs really bad too, anywhere along the coast in cali is expensive and really small due to how packed in it is, plus LA has garbage air, gave me breathing issues as a kid till we moved. Inward is better, but its going up too, used to pay 850 for a nice 2bed apt but my fiance and I just started renting a pretty nice 2bed house for 700, bathroom is tiny but cant complain otherwise

Eventually I want to leave cali altogether though, too damn hot, shitty air, bad job market and somehow my town is scalper central, used to work at target and fuckers lined up for amiibos on opening day n shit, did meet a cool dude who tipped me off sometimes though

Most of the Takara pack-in comics are like that, especially the Legends ones which is basically "Beast Wars as an office sitcom, guest starring whichever TF the comic came with" and the Kre-O ones.

Funniest part, they're written and drawn by one of the biggest TF geeks in Japan, formerly one of the Takara toy designers, and mangaka of the only GOOD Unicron Trilogy story "Micron Linkage", so they are CRAMMED with obscure trivia and Easter eggs.

Downside, all moonspeak all the time.

There are threads in a lot of Transformers boards that are dedicated to reporting when listings go up.
There are people staying up hitting f5 to a wall of pages ready to pounce when the listing is up.

No. I would've liked for the team to have all decent to good molds instead of one shitty one crammed in. The characters don't matter, and never did, as long as the combined mode is good.

It really depends, like the guy I got mine from wanted his gone so he sold me an ACG Metroplex for $125 Canadian but I've always seen them whenever there are any from $150~250 Canadian and that really depends on who is selling them and if they just want it gone or trying to turn it in for some buck. I think one of my contacts there still has like a couple of cases of them for $200 per pop that he either sells or use for customizing. Other than that the price range really fluctuates from anywhere $150~250 and the SDCC versions at 300ish CAD. At the end of it all you might have to wait another 20 years for a reissue before getting one lol.

Pic related that was the one I got from TFcon last year. It's complete with unapplied stickers so I have the option to get my customizer acquaintance to get it to paint nicely.
