You should make a jet glider for the suit that drops it into battle.
Like, the suit hangs from the glider some way and detaches the suit while continuously flying.

Not him, but your suggestion makes me think of Dougram.
>>5597420
That's pretty awesome, I was thinking something more like the suit is upright vertically while in some kind of holder the glider has.
>>5597424
Dougram's pretty great. The Soltic is one of the more common Combat Armors of the series. Alongside the Crab Gunner it forms the CA backbone of the Deloyer-based Federation forces for the first 1/6th or so of the series.
>>5597420
based Zakus!
It's probably worth noting that the Soltic-glider is more a temporary setup than a full-fledged vehicle, for carrying stuff there's the twin-rotor Mavelick.
>>>5597445
>zaku
Dougram isn't Gundam you baka.
Notably Dougram is an early "real robot" series, and it falls in alongside stuff like its spiritual successor VOTOMs (by the same guy behind Dougram) and other series like Patlabor as a series with very little actually making the machines super distinct from, or even superior to, conventional arms.
Just to top off on that last part. Dueys kicked some serious ass. On the Deloyeran side you mainly got stuff like Chico with his Big E-Gun and J. Locke with his Native Dancers.
If you were to wish to watch Dougram it's easily torrented off Bakabt or nyaa.se, or you can stream it on kissanime if you want. At 75 episodes it's a slow ride but a fun and worthwhile one, and has some nice emphasis on politicking and the like too.
On the other hand it's probably also worth noting that Gundam itself was -the- real robot, the series that kicked off the trend for more "realistic" robots in anime at least. Mobile Suit Gundam is a really great series, and so too is Dougram. Dougram was pretty popular, enough to earn 75 as opposed to just 50 episodes, where Gundam only got popular a short while after it first aired, and that led to the compilation movies, Zeta, and so on. The rest is quite literally history.
I love them both, and both are worthwhile watches for anyone looking for something to get into. They're also great building subjects, but obviously there's less Dougram than Gundam.
I'll stop posting all of this nonsense, it's the Lego thread, not /m/.
Make Anime Great Again
>>5597491
is that skull from brickwarriors?
>>5597506
Its from a SY Ninjago bootleg
>>5597514
ah, jesus christ that skull on the right is pretty dark looking for a Lego
>>5597491
>IBO generally disliked, shitposting magnet
>other seasonal robot anime mostly ignored
>old stuff gets some discussion here and there, nothing major
>translated /m/ manga outside big franchises also kinda rare, surprisingly
>animated /co/m/bo stuff is rare, SBT died years ago to CN jewery
>/co/m/bo comix also oddly rare
I'm consoled by the fact that robot anime is still coming out even if it isn't as good or popular as it was once. Maybe it's just perception.
That, and the fact that since so many have come out just in robot terms, there's plenty to choose from, and plenty good among those.
Would you say that buying parts from Lego is cheaper than on Bricklink?
I'm trying to get some bricks for mechs, but tracking a store in BL with a lot of what I need is a nightmare. My only consolation is that while Lego PAB is expensive, at least I don't have to hunt down stores, and I save on shipping because I don't have to pay it twice.
>>5597528
Like I said, Dougram's pretty great.
Dougram's final repose is the beginning and end of the series. It's kinda bittersweet, but it's the journey that really makes it. Gundam's a similar deal.
Do give it a try sometime. With a little effort mecha anime in general is fun stuff.
>>5597534
I'd be inclined to say Bricklink is usually cheaper, but it probably depends much more on what you're actually buying.
>>5597491
Christ, thinking about how awkward Exofoce's faces looked, minidolls would be better suited for anime characters than minifigs.
>what if Exoforce comes back, but with minidolls, not minifigs
I can't tell whether that idea is good or bad currently, probably bad.
>>5597543
Personally I think there's no real need for anime lego besides what people already do with just bricks.
For minifigs there's no real reason to give them anime styling. On the other hand, could Lego Avatar's one redeeming feature be its anime-lookin' faces that aren't completely bonkers?
>>5597542
For now, I'm trying to branch out of Kai's Fire Mech from way back when, so I'm trying to buy the Hero Factory arm with ball sockets (90622), and the Hero Factory armor pieces (90641).
Lego has them for 53 cents, and the armor pieces for 30-50 cents, depending on color.
A Bricklink seller I'm eyeing right now, has the arm for 23 cents, and the armor for 10-18. However, it's not enough, so I have to look for another store, and the store is located in the USA, while I'm in Canada.
You're damn right I'm mad! Ignorance causes me to rage withe the force of a million suns.
Not even justice, I want to get truth!
Somebody was asking for reactions images. Made this today.
Also finished assembling the kwik e mart and Simpsons house yesterday.
The KEM is fantastic. Really enjoyed the build and the stickers were fun to apply.
The Simpsons house is kind of a let down. The rooms are not very "true" to the house in the cartoons, everything is cramped and tiny and I had problems connecting the garage to the house (literally the house connection points breaking off).
It's also not worth it if you don't have other Simpsons figs, otherwise you end up with a bunch of stoned looking figs.
I now own 100% of every Lego Simpsons release. I think.
A power plant or androids dungeon mite b cool. I know some of you guys dislike the Simpsons figures, tho.
>trans-purple studs are only available in one set
>it's fucking Bionicle
Bull-fucking-shit. I ain't buying one even for those, and they're some of the pieces I want the most.
And it doesn't help that there's only 2 sellers on BL that have those. Not even those people want to get Bionishit.

So a couple of K-marts near me are trying to off load the last of their Arctic sets, so they've got the Arctic Base Camp on clearance for AU$89 (down from AU$115) between them they have about 4 to 6 sets. I currently have one, but I've wanted to make up a big Arctic Research Base for a while now, so depending on how my finances hold up I'm thinking of grabbing a couple more before they're all gone.
Now I figure I have 3 options as to how I go about building a large Arctic base.
>1. Get another couple of sets and make the whole base a series of small prefab looking huts/units. Basically just keeping the current design, but expanding it to have different units and layouts.
For example, I'd take the one I currently have and modify it so that instead of a long thin lab, coming off of a square rec room/garage, it would be a thin hallway/entrance connecting two square labs/offices. Then take another set and make it a crew quarters or something and another one into a kitchen/dining hall and so forth.
>2. Scrap/disassemble the set I've already got/built, get a couple more sets and some parts off of BL (such as white baseplate) and make a large "permanent" looking structure.
>3. Combined option 1 and 2. Build a series of little "prefab" buildings and then build a smaller "permanent" building. Then all I'd have to figure out, is if the labs/offices will be in the prefabs and the living space in the permanent building, or if it will be the other way around.

The other one is Orbitrons Max.
it seems that mixel series had super good looking chunky/heavy Maxes.
Unlike others...that look just "awkward" like that Castle-max.
castle-Max is my biggest disappointment. I was expecting some super awesome robo-castle-warrior-giant-thing but it's just some retarded pegasus made of blocks...
I guess its not that hard to actually build a castle-Robot by yourself but i wanted nice looking oficial thing.
I still didn't de-build this fire-max. He just looks great as an Action Figure and looks neat on a shelf.

>>5601078
Oh man.
This might be the wrong hobby for you.
What types of stuff do you like, though? Like the Castle stuff? Nexo Knights is neat. Clay's Rumble Blade is a good starting point, but it is a $40 set.
There's all kinds of shit out there if you're into Star Wars that sits at the $20-$30 range.
People tend to hate on Ninjago, but the new wave of stuff is pretty neat, with sky-pirate, steampunk airships and stuff. There are some pretty neat sets...I forget the name, but there's the very angular little ship that is $20 that everyone likes, and a little airship/balloon airship that is $30.
And even though $50 might be a bit steep for you, there's the Ghostbuster's Ecto-1 if you're into something like that.
If no actual themes sound good, there's always just picking up a bunch of the cheap creator sets. There's tons, and they're anywhere from $5 on up.

Thank you!
It's really nice how putting a reactive piece on either side of it makes it look like the flower itself is glowing.

Never say never.
Did you expect the new imp fig 10 years ago from Lego?
>>5601386
have you seen this one?
>>5601462
Yeah, I was on the fence between that one and the Robin, but I decided I liked the Robin more.

Thanks anons, I was wondering too. Pretty neat prints, especially how they work with the helmets.

Speaking of CMFs, does anyone here have any tips for a first time feeler? It's seems kind of fun, but for the life of me, the all the bags at the half full display case at the local grocery store felt the same. Couldn't really make out any detail. Maybe doesn't help that I'm a visually oriented person and not so touch sensitive. I'm aiming for the Janitor, how long does it usually take to ID a figure foe you?
>>5601530
Feeling for minifigures, usually LEGO fan sites publish a "feel guide" of what to feel for. Usually you're looking for a specific accessory, like for the janitor the hat or the mop head or the stick. The more distinct the piece is, the easier, like the Queen's rounded skirt piece.
If there's multiple figures in the wave with the same accessory, you go by process of elimination. Like it's going to be tough with the Disney CMF because Mickey and Minnie have similar heads, so you look for her skirt piece.

is he autistic?

I only just started with the last series, first time I mistook a pig for a shark head and kendo guy for cyborg guy. second try I got all of the ones I was still missing.
look up guides online, they'll outline easy to feel pieces. don't focus on scale, the pieces feel very different in the bag. always remember the plate with four studs and the checklist pamphlet thing, they're in every pack and will interfere with feeling. also if you're having trouble, ID the legs, torso and head, if you can keep them separate from other bits it'll let you focus on what else is in the bag.

Derp, that would explain the big flat thing I could make out. I did look up a feel guide prior to my first outing, I was expecting the unique accessories to stick out more.
Seems like it's not a quick process if you have to separate out the common parts first, might just be worth it to buy him second hand and save the time.

Don't listen to them other goons, get the King's Mech and enjoy it. $30 for a fun build and an above average number of pieces.
>>5601675
King's Mech confirmed 10/10 set, can't wait for the Black Knight mech, which totally should have come out first anyway.
>>5601685
when in doubt, pinky out

I really want to get the pieces to give him a proper shield arm and give the shield a handle he can hold...
>>5601675
Picked up a Star Wars set, Obi Wans ship. I'll definitely get this one next though

I'm confused why it's OVER 100 DOLLARS
I don't think FNAF fans are THAT wasteful with their money
