Is that Optimus made from the AOE Evasion mode figure? It's beautiful.
Probably not original in the slightest.

Google pics of Evasion Prime, then Dual Model Kit Prime, and compare them to the pic posted ITT. I just don't believe it. If it's Evasion Mode Prime, they would have had to replace or scratchbuild like at least 70% of the parts to look like that pic. Which is like, why?

You say that like its a bad thing. But nice shot , I like the background
Some of these are good, but generally you shouldnt bother posting out of focus shots. Either retake them or just leave them.
But, like I said, the in focus shots are nice, like >>5583615 . For some of the others, it might pay to find a setting that contrasts with the subject a bit more though.

>>5588312
The plastic is really good. The con is that some figures ship with broken legs because the box's styro wasn't aligned due to lack of care and thus strain was put during the shipment. My supplier told me that they're updating the new styros last month though not sure if they've finished them.

Kotobukiya Mechanical Chain Base series, these are hard as fuck to find now though. Most of them on eBay are chinese knockoffs by the way. You can tell because instead of the Modelling Support Goods logo (M.S.G) on the top left, its some chinese characters in its place. That is a surefire way to tell that shit is fake.
>>5589517
Thanks anon. Been dabbling in photography for a few months now, still learning things. The background is just my window but its great in certain shots.
I hope a plush is okay. I took this a few years ago I think. I should edit the tag out.
>>5591257
>Most of them on eBay are chinese knockoffs by the way
do you think it matters? i mean, it seems like a pretty hard thing to fuck up, & even if it is a bit shitty, i would imagine it'd be easily fixed/customized by someone with gunpla experience
i ask because i could get a bunch of fake ones cheap & its super tempting
>>5591481
While I was building it, some of the parts seem to not fit as well, just afraid that the knockoffs will be totally misaligned and stuff. An example is that my base plates actually are a bit warped so there is a little gap where it attaches to the wall, for now its flat only because I combined all 3. But hey if you dont mind, maybe you could try a few first? Then if it is super shitty, dont get anymore.
I'm wanting to get into toy photography but don't know much about it, can you guys give me any tips on how to start out? What do you use for backgrounds? What cameras and lights do you use? Any videos to learn from?
>>5593307
Just start. Make sure your photos are in focus , try following the rule of thirds for awhile, and just go experiment until you get something right.
If you're using a very poseable figure use photos of people to practice posing. That's pretty important.
>>5593307
>can you guys give me any tips on how to start out?
Get some figures & a camera. Try not to treat them as toys but rather living things, which is to say; have a realistic approach in how you pose them, & how physics are applied. Your scene should be well lit & in-focus. Blur is fine for the foreground or background, but the character(s) should always be crisp, unless of course you're trying to do some artsy shit.
>what do you use for backgrounds?
Did you try looking at the pictures we've posted? There's nature, bedroom walls, playsets, etc. It's that simple, really. Just look around you, see what could pass for in-universe scenery or be otherwise unobtrusive. Try to avoid having product placement or bodies of text, like posters in your room, food packaging, etc. You want to treat the photo like it's an actual moment, & seeing large-scale real life items ruins the viewers immersion, except in the case of doing toy-like stuff.
>What cameras and lights do you use?
I personally have a Canon Powershot A480 but it's just a run of the mill digital camera I got a number of years ago. It does the trick just fine. Even an iphone can do justice in the right light. There's no better source than the sun, but that aside, you could just grab a cheap metal flood-light or desk-lamp. Even a weak bulb in close proximity can do wonders. Try to avoid conflicting light sources, like having the glow of your TV on the side opposite to your lamp.
Dunno about videos, I assume you could just search youtube.
Also, Photoshop is your friend, if you know how to make use of it. Adjusting brightness/contrast, adding blur effects, removing obstructions or tool assists (like a Figma stand), it comes in handy.
>>5593359

Man, I don't have that Prime (yet) but my only complaint so far is that there's no colour options.
I'd kill for a black recolour...
>>5598298
I believe it's been confirmed. As well as a rusted, more movie-accurate version. They're also doing a black version of MPP10.
>>5598311

Guess I'll actually have to hold on from buying him. He was gonna be my next month's order.
>>5598318
They're starting come back down in price because a new batch was made after CNY. This one was only like $85 shipped. I may end up just getting all of them theyd display well together.
I hope to Primus that Wei Jiang does a retool of tanker mode Megatron. That figure is already great and they could make it god-tier.
>>5598325
So if the recolor comes out, you can expect him to be about the price the current Primes are going for, correct?

There's no minimates thread and I just bought my first ones in forever, so I'll just post here.
I'm excited they're doing some more Battle Beasts. Those are the only other MMs I had. I don't really like the human heads, but the animal sculpts are nice.
I tried to find the pack with the best paint, but I'll probably have to touch up this shark's teeth some.
And I d always liked the aliens, but just never bothered with them. A set with Ripley though seemed like the time to get one. For the price these sets are pretty great. The cat, a weapon, an egg, a facehugger, and two figures for $7.50 is a deal. If you like the aesthetics, these are a great option for collecting.
Almost got the new X-Files ones, but again, those faces. Probably won't ever get too many humans. If only their heads were round instead of cylinders.
