I say this as an owner of hasbro starscream (have to force the chest apart to transform into robot which I didn't have to do on older hasbro seekers), all hasbro seekers (I sadly like shithead ronald mc donald), hasbro prowl and hasbro bluestreak (prowl has a slightly off center autobot symbol but he was fine, took me opening 15 total bluestreaks until I found one that didn't look like a 2yr painted it AND could hold its car form without undue stress).
But in short hasbro versions better homage the toys (where possible) and show shows of lower qc, I will buy hasbro ones IF I missed out on the takara and based on price, but unlike the takara I will be cautious and buy them in person rather than be comfortable with opening a package from japan and expecting greatness.
My second hand smokescreen with a chipped bumper did amazing out of the box compared to the many bluestreaks I had, thank fuck the tru I visit are patient enough (though it seems waiting on me gets them out of work so it may be of mutual benefit)

Each robot is different despite being a repaint or retool. I am not a fan of the g1 autobot limbs though. But if some molds work well as another combiner limb, I'm all for it. The basic transfotmation scheme is almost the same anyway. Which is why I'm still bummed that we will not get beast combiners. They could just have a single base robot and just retool the monster/beast parts and robot heads.

Yeah, I think people here are just late-comers who came in around 2010 or so. Part of the reason theClassics line even continued was because Hasbro designers planned to reuse molds multiple times to make the most of the budget; hence why the first few toys in Universe 2.0 were all those that had a ton of repaints(Prowl, Sunstreaker, Ironhide). I wasn't even around in the 80's; just saying if you have a line that's all updates of G1 stuff that was all very similar, don't expect much variety.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised if this extends further in the next few years. early on in CW, I was speculating that Hasbro may be experimenting with using a "Buck" system(like Marvel Legends, MOTUC/DCUC, and even Hot Toys to an extent), where in one base body type is reused multiple times.I mean moreso than we see with Seeker Repaints and Datsun brothers. Rather,more extensive like the Rook to Swindle/Hound. I can see them taking a Datsun brothers type transformation(car chest, door wings) and remolding the car shell and robot parts to fit a range of characters, like Jazz, Bumblebee, or Drift, all having different alt-modes, but transforming the same. Or having a few generic beast bodies that can be remolded for multiple bipedal, quadripedal, and insectoid creatures.

It's really not that bad, though. Like Marvel Legends, its a good way to get lots and lots of characters a chance to get toys who wouldn't otherwise. If it hadn't been for the shitty Autobot repaint wave we might not have gotten some other guys.
Transformers is a franchise with hundreds upon hundreds of characters, and there's somebody who wants each and every one of them to be remade at any time. None of the CW molds are bad (save for Brawl,) so it doesn't hurt that we might get a chance to get a lot of guys out of a single line, especially the ones who are kinda generic looking.
Now, that doesn't mean ALL Deluxes need to go to a standard set of vehicle modes, but you've got to admit it's an effective way to get a shitload of the generic car guys new toys on the shelves. It's a safer bet than tooling ten different car modes for ten different guys and having some of them end up garbage.

No. Nightbird uses the original version of her hands with the lip that makes her hold her guns by the tips.
Arcee got a running change that removed the lip and added a plastic piece to close her hands so her thumbs couldn't snap off.
Arcee's hands were solid plastic so you could shave off the lip, and as long as you didn't twist the weapons her thumb would hold just fine. Nightbird's hands are only painted silver so any shaving will fuck the whole thing up.

It's not that much better. I don't think any Devastator from any company has really hit the nail on the head except for maybe the Legends scaled one from DX9 (only because no partsforming is a novelty). Has/Tak came so close but so fucking far. The Turds are expensive and derivative, often only having a little resemblance to the character, but at least most of them are solid standalones.
Really I'd like to see one of those enhanced KOs that are starting to come out of China where they take the originals and improve it like the Evasion Prime, Voyager Movie Hound, and some of Warbotron not-combaticons.

I'm pretty sure her windshield and roof are her arms, her grill is her chest, and her front bumper is her "belt." It also looks like her wheels invert to form her shoulders, and the wheels on her legs flip around to the insides of her calves, but...well, where do her boob plates come from?
The only place that has that pattern on her altmode is the area near her back wheels, but I don't think those articulate around her body, do they? Besides, those parts don't mind up with her door/window kibble.

If 3P stuff wasn't so overpriced, I'd totally buy some stuff like Quantron and Giant not for my Classics shelf, but just as stand-alone transforming robots. I really like how 3Ps get creative with transformations and stuff, but I also don't like how much they have to take liberties. I have a couple Turds, and they generally have pretty shit QC (broken joints in the package, tons of stress marks) or one or two elements that are way too fragile. The ones I have are fun toys, but then I bought them on sale. And I'd never drop the insane prices for a 3p combiner.
I think Quantron is on clearance on BBTS, though. I might grab him at some point, but definitely not for full price. And the KO Giant/Herculese/Whatever looks pretty good for being such a low price comparatively.

Eh, I've never liked Predaking that much, so I couldn't be assed to pay 100 clapbux a bot for him. My favorite combiners have always been Menasor (the 3P of which is awful,) Abominus ( I think there's a 3p?) and Monstructor (who nobody wants to touch.)
