Yeah, I want to see some shit that wouldn't look out of place on my classics shelf. Hell, they dont even need to be classic g1 characters, just give me some solidly designed transformer toys that don't stick out like an overly designed thumb.

My biggest dream 3rd party line would be something that just focuses on unconventional alt modes. Taxi-cabs, Busses, farm equipment. I mean I know it would probably be too risky to pull off, but I'd like to see 3rd party stuff -expanding- my toy roster. Most everybody liked Steel Core right?

Maybe not cramming every surface with blocky greebly detail might actually make them less expensive too
>>
>>5381863
One guy in the 3P thread argued that most 3P designers are good 3D modelers, but they're not necessarily good with aesthetics and stylization.

I wholeheartedly agree with that point. it perfectly explains the weird aesthetics you get with 3P designs, and them stacking on more and more layers of detail on their designs
>>
>>5381863
Waifushit line when?
>>
>>5381952
Iron factory's making legends cute waifu toys, like Windblade and Arcee
>>
>>5381863
I want a line that turns other famous movie/tv cars into transformers.

Differentiate the designs as much as needed to avoid lawsuits, of course, be we'd all know a transforming delorian when we saw it.
>>
>>5381960
>Differentiate the designs as much as needed to avoid lawsuits, of course, be we'd all know a transforming delorian when we saw it.

We're getting off topic, but like, XTransbots announced MP Windcharger and Tailgate, and one repaint for them is the car from Knight Rider
>>
>>5381965
Does it look like hasselhoff?
>>
>>5381977
i think its just a repaint?

there's just a pic of a black MP Windcharger car, released two years ago

No updates yet, but it'd be cool. I'd prefer the Tailgate face
>>
>>5381998
Yea, I guess it'd be more than it's worth.

I'd settle for even just a afro accessory.
>>
>>5381941

They probably know they HAVE to make it different (ie: unnecessary greebles and whatever the fuck) to not get assraped in court by lawyers, guys.
>>
>>5382077
I get where you're coming from, but your argument would have only made perfect sense a while back. it doesnt hold water anymore cause everyone is doing Masterpiece toys, who look exactly like the characters because of cartoon accuracy. so it doesnt make sense that non-MP designs HAVE to be different..
>>
>>5381562
Let's pray it's better than the third party Ironfist with a 80% chance of exploding thighs.
>>
>>5382144
>Ironfist with a 80% chance of exploding thighs
Still buttmad about that.
>>
>>5382176
>>5382144
What made the thighs explode? Tight plastic-only ratchets or something?
>>
>>5382283
The mushroom peg (I think that's what it's called?) came off extremely easily.

People assumed it was a manufacturing error, but others reported that their figures didn't have any stress on the peg, and it still came right off. The likely cause is the plastic they used, since their other 2 figures using the same mold didn't have this issue.
>>
Really starting to wonder if I should just buckle down and buy Onslaught with Scattershot.

Every place I find him he costs nearly as much as he does when packaged with Scattershot.
>>
>>5382325
That's because most places know they can't make a profit on Scattershot because Hasbro fucked him up, so they have to raise Onslaught's prices.
>>

Just be patient, anon. Same shit happened with Motormaster and Blackjack.

You guys remember when everyone started scalping blackjack because of some rumor that further releases of him were getting cancelled?

I don't understand why people collect them. By all means more power to them, but they have to be getting tired of the same five freaking figures by now.

I'm assuming they don't sell these in box sets in stores. They go for 150+ dollars for the full set online.

I think as far as toys go you could do a lot better with 150 dollars then spend it on a set of figures you already own three fucking times.
>>
>>5382683
The helicopter mold was legit good, just overused.
>>
>>5382696
>spending $150 on any UW/CW set

You fucked up bad if you paid that much. A set of the CW limbs shouldn't be above $65, and a Voyager is around $26. A UW set usually goes for $120-137 or so. And you can usually find any of those with free shipping to boot.

Congrats, you can get maybe one Deluxe or Voyager sized 3P figure for that price. Maybe.

It's why I bought the Kaon from MMC. The novelty of having a figure that transforms into an electric chair for murderizing other figures on was too great to pass up on.

>>5382633
If you don't mind the Hasbro molds, the upgrade set from PE + mistransforming the Onslaught torso is your best cost to look ratio. If Takara can fix the paint schemes and deliver a proper blast off it might be the best option until some other turd gets around to Bruticus again.

I agree that in combined mode that Fansproject's looks great, but any other mode and its a mess of parts. Cool weapons though.

>>5382744
I notice Bruticus' thighs are turned inward in all the PE handfeet shots, does that create the same A-stance problem as PE's Menasor torso upgrade? looks like it does.
>>
>>5382750

Apply a small amount of it to the problem area (a drop or 2 from an eyedropper is enough for most ball joints, for example), move said area around a lot as best you can to work it all around that area, then let it sit for a full 24 hours.

It should be fine afterward, assuming you did it right. I've used it on quite a few figures, only one I haven't gotten to work on is my Motormaster, and it's probably because the joint thats floppy on him is a bitch to get the drops into. I have heard some people need more than one application, but besides my Motormaster, none of mine have needed it yet.
>>

>Implying I'd touch a CW combiner

I have standards, thanks. I'd rather have $80 masterpiece carformer or a FP headmaster than one of the many variants of the same 5/6 robots.
>>
>>5382763

I ordered it off Amazon. Walmart stocks it, but none of the ones by me had any in stock.
>>
>>5382750
Just drop a small amount at each joint and it will spread by itself, it helps also if you move the joint to spread it.

Use a toothpick as an applier since you really need a SMALL amount enough to wet cover the ball and the socket.

So should he open up the ratchet and apply the stuff, or just dab some on the joint itself and work it in?

CW Prime's hip ratchets aren't the problem as far as tightness goes, his knees are.

3. Technically 5, but I don't count Optimus and the G1 squad because I didn't buy them to combine, and the Combaticon's don't count because I don't have Onslaught yet (just ordered him today though). And all have PE feet/fists except Optimus and the Combaticon's (because their set isn't out yet), and my Menasor has the big plastic crotch supporter.

Enjoy what you want to enjoy Anon. I'm just happy to have something that both updates and recaptures my childhood, especially since I'm a newer collector and didn't have a chance to grab much of the stuff pre-CW save for fishing around eBay for deals.

I'm also not made of money, and buying all this stuff to begin my collection was expensive enough as-is, though now I'm starting to look at 3P stuff, mostly Feral Rex to cover my need to have a Predaking, plus he looks pretty close to what Predaking would, which is nice. A lot of the 3P stuff looks pretty odd at times, like all those Devastators with the wrong color green or completely inaccurately colored limbs. Other than that, I want maybe a few others like the FP Dinobot's, maybe Commotus and Hexatron, and that power core-esque IDW The Fallen.

I've only got Menasor, worked on him over the course of a year

Drag Strip
Motormaster
Blackjack
Breakdown
Dead End
Brake Neck
Perfect Effect's PC-02
Nonnef Hip Ratchets
Perfect Effect's PC-04
Nonnef Shoulder Locks
Renderform's "The Eliminator" rifle

After some reprolabels I'm pretty much done with him.

Looking to build Bruticus now, for whatever reason there's just no autobot combiners that interest me. I WAS momentarily interested in Defensor, but that didn't last (only long enough to buy Rook)

The funny part is they should have the lions share of limbs, given they have so many. Hasbro fucked up by making Devy some retardedly huge project, and not making Abominus/Predaking/whatever the fuck those Seacon combiner is named. They could've easily scaled Devy down to Deluxe's and made him his own special box set but kept the combiner pegs, and then made a dedicated Predaking with remolds into Abominus/Seacon combiner.
>>

Man, the PE set for combiners is awesome, but i think the feet gun modes would be much better if they had peg holes somewhere, so you could stack the feet together and make a sentry or turret type device. Using them as handheld guns is silly since they are so huge.

Yeah, but the problem is that IS just Prime Bulkhead. I'd like to incorporate the character into my regular collection, but I think he should get something new.

I'd be all over homages to Prime Bulkhead, Knockout, and Breakdown (which we're getting), along with some Armada homages especially. Those toys themselves didn't really live up to the excellent character designs and colors.
>>
>>5383491
I'd be down for a TFA combiner team. Problem though. Should bulkhead be the torso or prime? IF they had to be retools use hot spot for prime, rook for bulkhead, of course first aid for ratchet, and groove for prowl. Here's where it gets tricky. Bumblebee won't work for what's available so he can get a new mold. Retool Off Road with a plow up front for a sentinel piece? Maybe do a dead end Jazz?

When are they going to revive Beast Wars? Not just making new toys of existing characters, but making new characters with new molds that feel like they came right out of the 90's. Like a Maximal hedgehog or a Predacon Daddy Long Legs Spider. Some more sea-creatures might be nice as well.

Fireflight

First Aid and Ironhide (because the Universe2 version is that bad)

Scattershot (yeah...I skipped Silverbolt because I like the Universe2 version)
Onslaught

Quick! Is a better Transformer practical or cool looking?
>>
>>5383774

Heres a question: Do original beastformers (Grimlock and co, Predaking, any other G1's I might forget like the Seacon's, or the big red preying mantis guy, or insecticons) count as beast transformers? Or are they their own shit? Would a beast line see us with some updated G1 Dinobots?

Or does the beast shit only count 'bots that have non-robotic beast forms (ie: the Beast Wars crew before Transmetal stuff, etc)?
>>
>>5383785
Practical. A Transformer can look great but be a nightmare to play with (Genetations Rattrap), while another can be relatively plain, but be great to play with (HFtD Hubcap). Hubcap is the better figure.
>>
>>5383783
Transmutate's ep was after Airazor was out of the show, so that might have worked. Like Friezabird and Prostitutespider find an apparently female one and get all self-explorey, wondering what a female in terms of Transformer is?
>>
>>5383761
Can you even really call them those if they don't even have those gimmicks? the only reason people call the new leader class Optimus; Powermaster Optimus, is because it's what everyone refers to that bodytype as, even though it's a misnomer.

I'd say this is simply the headmaster line, none of the others make a appearance (a halfassed base mode out a leader isn't what micromaster bases were) and any of them can be the next lines gimmick, but hasbro could do anything else, so it's up in the air.
>>

Although it's still inaccurate, I to feel ginrai fits the mold better, human piloting a Optimus-esque body? sure, that works, more so than a Optimus headmaster that, on his own, is smaller than most of his troops.
