What is one thing everyone is kind of excited for? Nothing you NEED, but something that looks fun.

I'm ready for Warrior Class Thunderhoof. He looks pretty neat. I like these animal like bot modes the decepticons have in RID. Thunderhoof looks demonic. A black repaint would be metal.

How does the year of the snake omega supreme scale to a CW gestalt/combined form?

I am tempted, and if he scales with one or is slightly shorter I'll be a happy camper, if not I'll just cry when the over sized titan class one comes years later
>>
>>5378519
Yup, I completely agree. That's really the only reason I started kitbashing it in the first place; to try to make it a not-as-shit toy.
>>
>>5378522
Energon/YotS Omega Supreme is huge compared to any CW combiner. The only one that dwarfs him is Devastator
>>
>>5378527

Devy is kinda lanky compared to him though. I think Omega is bulky enough to display next to him.
>>
>>5378522
Omega is a head taller thant TFC Hercules, who's a head taller than CW Combiners

Eh close enough, better than being a titan class
>>
>>5378525

I feel so bad for you. It must suck being a fan of such an obscure and disliked toy. Hardcore headmaster fans at least has Fansproject to deliver them good re imaginings of their nostalgia bait.

Cheetor/rhinox fans? Nah.
>>
>>5378531
I thought tfc was supposed to be...oh wait he's still smaller than the official devastator.

Cheers for the images, he's a big guy but isn't a manlet nor is he over compensating, works fine for me, cheers
>>
>>5378538

CW Devastator is one of the biggest transformers ever, official or otherwise. He's shorter than metroplex and Fort Max but otherwise the biggest.

Generation toy is doing a Devy that's going to be just about the same size as the official one. The combiner ports on the limbs that are already out sit higher than the ones on mixmaster and scrapper so you can assume he'll be bigger.

But for now Devastator is king shit in terms of height.
>>
>>5378541
In overall complexity he trumps metroplex that much is certain.

Would be nice if he was scaled down though perhaps bringing down 6 deluxes to a safe and stable combination may of had issues, thus the over sized devy we have now.

I like the figure and its components as a whole, just a shame he's fan fiction size compared to his bothers
>>
>>5378546
>he's fan fiction size compared to his bothers
Think about it this way, anon.
He's Masterpiece sized!

Voyager Constructicons suddenly makes sense!

... Or if you dont have an MP collection, you can pretend he's transformers Devastation scale
>>
>>5378546

Metroplex and Devy have the same issues. A lot is sacrificed in term of making the figure huge.

If they pinned the 150 price tag, brought them to deluxe size, and put they money and resources to making the crew better you would of had a set that would give Hercules a run for his (admittedly antiquated) money.

He just scales with nothing. He's really long legged and feels a bit too simple.
>>
>>5378535
I tend to try to fix a lot of the shittier TFs that have come out over the past few years. Like Universe Hot Shot. I cut off the tail wings from his shoulders and glued 'em to the rear bumper kibble, freeing up his arms. And I made little extensions for his minicon's feet so it can actually stand on its own. I also gave Universe Ironhide and Ratchet articulated thumbs and fixed their downwards looking heads. If there's simple shit on a toy I can fix, I usually do it.
>>
>>5378552
Oh I know he's mp sized, that's why I waited for the takara one to come out.

>>5378556
I have to agree, and I own both.

One thing is for sure, not getting fort max if he is just a retool, no fancy new head won't save him unless takara makes him out of gold
>>
>>5378560

I was gonna dip on Herc until I saw generation toy's take on the crew. I have to admit I really think that these guys are gonna be the expensive top tier devastator to beat. My scraper is already in the mail.

How much does Metro retail for anyway? I know Takara jacks up prices by 20% or so for mild improvements.
>>
>>5378566
No idea, got my metroplex for $100aud with 5% off.

It was the hasbro version, long before I gained the ability to import, but looking at him now I might be hesitant on importing another figure this big.
>>
>>5378519
Didn't most of the old team leave/get fired around the time of DOTM? that's the impression I got, maybe that's just when the quality started to decline
>>
not the guy that got butripped in the last thread but if I may actually provide an answer to the guy asking why someone would buy the Hasbro Devi instead of a third party one, no one seemed to want to actually answer him.

This is all just me on this, this may apply to others but let's assume not, just stick a big IMHO in front of this whole thing.

People keep talking about the quality of 3P toys over what we get with Hasbro and frankly I've never seen it. Yes just about everything looks really good in pictures but I have yet to see a single review of a 3P toy (any 3P toy) that doesn't include the words "fiddly" "broke off" "Doesn't quite fit right" "No instructions" "just doesn't match" or some variation there of. If I'm going to pay well over $100 for a single component of a much larger combiner then it had better be fucking perfect, and yes I know they have a smaller company and they don't have the money that Hasbro does but just think for a moment. How many 3P figures these days come with large parts to fix major issues on previous releases? I can think of several off the top of my head, hell Hercules had fixes through out it's entire run and even required an add on kit almost the same cost as a figure to complete him.

In the end is CW Devi perfect, oh hell no. Is he a decent toy. Sure. Does he look like Devistator towering over my other figures, and am I terrified that if I take him apart he'll crumble, yes and no respectively.
So you enjoy paying out the ass for a really good looking very poseable toy. I have Devistator in my collection and I didn't break the bank. In the end I have something I can play with and enjoy on several levels, and you've got something that looks pretty, really shouldn't be touched, and provides an ego boost. Can't we both be happy?

TL;DR Play with what you love and love what you play with and
>>
>>5378603
Maybe on the Hasbro side. but the Takara guys have always been there. Some since G1, eve.

Gee, I wonder why...
>>
>>5378605

I respect your opinion family. I don't think third party figures are nearly as fragile as you let on, although there are several instances of shitty exceptions to that. Vangelus makes a point to chuck every 100 + dollar toy he reviews at the wall to show that they aren't flimsy pieces of shit. That whole line of reasoning seems a bit like conformation bias.

Third party toys have arguably more play value because they are capable of much more poses on average. They have a better heft due to parts count and often times die cast parts. The high price tag goes a long way towards getting a better figure.

Price disparity is a huge downside, sure, but don't imply that third party toys are only for shelf display. I guarantee that Hercules can survive more drops than devastator could.
>>
>>5378535
Aren't Rhinox fans happy with the T30?
>>
>>5378609

I asked a question and you refused to answer because I was apparently cyber bullying you.

Again, if criticism is trolling than I suggest you begin a blog page on tumblr so you can block my nasty words that trigger you so much.

I don't think devastator is good enough to justify the price tag considering Hasbro can do (and does) a lot better. You're entitled to disagree with me but posturing and crying rape because I said things you disagreed with is juvenile.

For those who got MP Ultra Magnus

Just wondering, would the Combiner wars UM make a good stand in for the MP with the proper add on (moving feet and waists)?
I do have some MP and all, but in term of play, they are a little bit on the big side.
The CW UM seems good but to make it perfect the additional cost would push it almost to the MP.
So, any suggest?
>>
>>5378830

It completely defeats the purpose to stand in the MP one with the Leader figure if you're gonna bridge the cost gap with upgrades to make him MP tier.

Might as well go with the actual masterpiece figure.

It's funny, there's gonna be three overlord toys out. THing is, two of them are too big, while the other one is too small.

We could really do with a new Cheetor in Generations. But I'm not expecting one because they're focusing on Headmasters after Combiner Wars and from what I've seen and heard, Generations Rhinox is STILL shelf-warming like a motherfucker in a lot of places.

It didn't help that his lower body was a fucking disaster.

Everyone I knew got one with a floppy waist, an knees, which makes it nearly impossible to make him stand.

We all did, and it was still floppy, but at least it was fixable, I have no idea how to fix the knees.

I think both are good in their own ways, and you buy what you enjoy.

Some 3P stuff is spot on, some looks like a fucking mess compared to the real thing. I know I wouldn't ever go with a 3P Devy, because what Hasbro delivered looks like what it's supposed to be. The others have too much shit that looks "off", Hell, sometimes the entire color is off.

Best 3P combiner is probably Feral Rex by a mile, as it's pretty true to it's source (only thing that strikes me as "off" about it is the sword being a fiddly piece-together thing rather than a big, solid, golden Fuck-You sword of chopping), there isn't a Hasbro/Takara version, and it's apparently pretty fucking solid.

Only other guys I can think of that haven't gotten new toys in a few years besides those are Wreck-Gar and Scourge, but their older toys were good enough from what I hear. I only own Wreck-Gar but he's pretty cool.

I hear that we're getting a Headmaster Scourge (space boat I assume) in that same wave with Skullcruncher, Hardhead, and Blurr. I guess Legends Wreck-Gar kinda counts as a recent toy, too? Don't see the retool potential in a new one though to be honest.

In the same way that they re-did the season 1 guys in CW, because the older generations stuff is harder to find at this point, I imagine it's the same with the movie guys now.

Wouldn't be surprised if the near future has a new Tracks, Ratchet, Sideswipe, Hoist, Red Alert and Jazz, as well as Hot Rod, Scourge, Kup, and Wreck-Gar.

Yes please. Ratchet and Ironhide need justice with a new generations mold.

This is what I'm hoping for. We got CW Leader Ultra Magnus, Voyager CW Cyclonus, a TW Galvatron and Blaster coming (ok, he didn't originate in the movie, but still, he was in it), and rumors of a Scourge plus the other '86 bots.

I want my fucking full set of '86 bots! Since I'm newish to collecting I never had a chance at the Generations ones except Arcee.
