I can give you plenty of good advice, and in a moment I will, but I don't think you're OP. There isn't much of a point to building a 1st level character in D&D that cannot die in one hit. Yes, it is possible, but a waste of time as by default your HP's gonna double in two turns and wasting feats on HP is dumb and boring.
For my own D&D games, I house-rule higher starting HP and lower HP gain afterwards. But for your typical, un-houseruled D&D game, just shrug and play another character. A good trick is to write your level 1 PC's name in pencil, so if he dies you just play another level 1 character with the exact same stats.

A first level fighter does have enough HP to survive a level-appropriate encounter unless the player or GM is doing something unexpected and probably not a good idea. Furthermore, you prevent more damage by killing enemies and giving them more bodies to hit than you do by wasting a turn.
Heal spells are good to have around. Sometimes things do just go sideways. But it's not ever something that a player needs to commit themselves to. Unless they want to, of course.

When I played D&D you rolled your stats and everytime time you went into a dungeon there was a pretty good chance you didn't make it out.
You know what you did? You rolled a new fucking character, you nancy. You took over a hireling the group dragged along to carry loot. You made a character that the GM arranged to have the party meet in the dungeon. (Survivor of another slaughtered party, or soloing, or whatnot). Once a guy played a monster in the dungeon the group parleyed with and hired to join them.

i dm 3.5 and have for years now.
First 5 levels are full hp for all classes. after that they roll HD.
Feats every odd level instead of every three (yeah, thats right, a human figther gets 21 feats, get some supps if you want a bigger feat list)
Increase spellcasting limits for lower level spells by 1/spell level so wizards dont run out sooner, make sorcer better at combat by allowing them to trade in spells per day for extra damage equal to the spell level they trade in.
Class skill cap lowered to 2 ranks above level instead of three to make checks more challenging.
Treasure heavy cause group likes building strongholds and settlements, have to set the treasure generator to triple results.
still have a party that runs well and makes the game a bit easier overall, but not completely broken.
