Asking again here; how do we figure out using the giant robots in 'mixed' fashion?

They're worth too much for standard WBL (BP*20gp maybe, but probably no less) but are also not enough to eat equivalent class levels on their own.

You guys haven't even seen the Atomic Warlock, the Chessmaster, the Architect, the Croupier, the Henchlling, the Guide, or my particular favorite the Multiman. Wait until QANON comes back befre deciding which class is the craziest.

My favorites from Gonzo 1 are the Living Bomb PrC (Allahu Snackbar), the Toon (for playing Bugs Bunny) and the Punk (parkour based Dragoon ie, gains extra damage by juming up and falling on enemies, and has a spray paint tagging breath attack and an at-will ghost sound personal soundtrack)

You realize QANON is a girl, right? And that magic items that are beyond the standard +stats still need to be balanced around the fact that EVERYONE is going to have them instead of just one person?

Actually it does lock out and replace certain magic items.

Someone with just a mecha instead of a class would be *weaker* than the rest of the party.

The book itself states that the problem with someone having it is that they'd also have all that money (WBL), which is of course unbalanced.

However this is exactly the kind of thing (like much of this book) where half a group will go "MUST HAVE NOW" and the other group will never even get into one, so in order for any of the system to ever work, we need some kind of equivalency.

The lack of one, in this case, given their own explanation, is "Banning Weapon: Price +5, Cost +2" levels of whoopsie.

Now help me calculate.

"All gaming systems should be terribly flawed and exploitable if you want everyone to be happy with them. This allows for a wide variety of power levels for games for different levels of players."

While PoW isn't as flawed and exploitable as the rest of PF, having stronger options is good for it. Every single one of the full initiators is overpowered; if you want sane games play with the archetypes.

Mechs have a 'level' and build points, along with basic stats for their frame (think 'race'). You're in total cover when in them, so they give a layer of health, etc.

You then buy fucktons of abilities for them, deciding the engine (how much power per round you have), legs, size, weapons, etc.

Main balancing issues I could find for anon's 'mixing' are that their *starting* base frame HP is very high, with the assumption everyone is in one of these and they're quite tough. That would need to go down.

The Build Points are 'by level' which is a different issue; it has no direct GP equivalence, and you can't use your WBL to upgrade the thing either - so as to not give cloaks of protection, etc to the mech... unless GM allows it (but in that case you don't have it when outside of the thing).

They come in different flavors like mechanical, necromantic, abberations, etc.

Personally I think it would have to limit the pilot to NPC wealth if you were to mix the two, and definitely can't start at level 1 with one due to the health.

Main drawback is of course that if the thing gets trashed, you're screwed, and repairs will be incredibly expensive (fixing constructs) without magic, as well as long.

Corrosive Bolt Optimization
Primal Earth: +1 Damage per die to Earth/Acid spells
Copper Dragon: +1 Damage per die to Earth/Acid spells

If Crossblooded/Wildblooded are ruled not to stack, only one of them applies. That means damage goes down by quite a bit.

Blood Havoc: +1 Damage per die to bloodline spells or school spells with Spell Focus

FC Sorcerer (Dwarf): +.5 Damage per level of Sorcerer
VMC Admixture Wizard: +.5 Damage per level
Blood Intensity: As Intensified Spell (nonstacking), but adds up to CHA mod in dice

Turns out I misread my own notes: damage at 8th is actually as follows:
>Normal: 5d4+23 (Primal Earth 5 + Copper Dragon 5 + Blood Havoc 5 + Dwarf 4 + Admixture 4)
>Blood Intensity (CHA 16+) adds dice up to CL, so total is now 8d4+(8x3+8=32)
>Empowered adds 50%, so +4d4+12 (only damage dice bonus counts, level is only applied once)
>Total at 8th assuming all sources of "+1 per damage die" stack: 12d4+44
>Corrosive Bolt deals damage twice, once every turn for 2 turns, so 24d4+88
>Lengthy doubles spell duration to 4 turns, so 48d4+176

Assuming one of the bloodlines doesn't apply, it drops to 12d4+(12x2+8=32) times four.

No SR, no save, with a damage type that is rare to be immune against (and piss easy to switch on the fly thanks to Admixture).

So yeah. It's the munchkin'est interpretation of the rules there with the bloodlines, but even with that removed, it's quite a whallop. Add in more metamagic shenanigans via Magical Lineage and Wayang Spellhunter, and the fact that nobody expects a dwarf sorc to not suck begin with, much less a WoP one... it's helluva ride.

Is there any class that specializes in having a pet besides a summoner? Like having a bound devil/angel/outsider(specifically only one strong creature at a time) that serves them? 3rd party allowed
>>
Yo all, N. Jolly here, the one running the Legendary Vigilantes playtest. First of all, you've all been awesome, this playtest has helped refine a lot of content, lead to new content, and generally been great all around.

Since two of my LG products have gotten reviews, I've decided to release some of the Saturday archetypes early. I did Mercurial Duelist yesterday, and today I figured I'd come over and see which archetype out of the three remaining ones you'd like to have posted first.

The options are Mad Scientist, Inquisitive Detective, and Trickshot Sniper.
>>
Friends, I'm building a Flame Oracle/Paladin Tiefling that worships Hestia.

Since the character will be demon-blooded, what are some good demons I should look at for the character's appearance or anatomy? His thing will be all about the hearth, flames and cinder, so an ash motif would work extremely well if you have any suggestions for appearance.
>>
>>48163962
Look at Dark Souls 3 assets for inspiration.
>>
One of my players wants to start one level lower than the rest of the party, except that his character will be a gestalt character. Is this something I should allow? Nobody else in the party is playing gestalt.
>>
>>48164018

Yep, it's not just trick shots, it's mostly trick arrows, except it's not just arrows. Trickshot sniper can also be used with crossbow bolts, firearm bullets, sling bullets, and with a talent, mystic bolts.

I figure I'll give an hour or two for voting before posting it.
>>
>>48164018
Absolutely not.
>>
>>48163791
Spheres of Power has the Conjuration sphere that does this. There's also the Spiritualist from Occult Adventures.
>>
Actually, I'll give a little more info on Mad Scientist and Inquisitive Detective.

Mad scientist lets you either pick between bombs or mutagen, with some neat buffs for certain discoveries (being able to use a second explosive missile a round), while mutagen lets you take brute talents and eventually increase in size.

Inquisitive detective trades some social talents away for inspiration as well as basically stacking with every other archetype due to it being a social based archetype.
>>
>>48164080
what about with beam weapons?
>>
>>48164134

The playtest has been an absolute blast, and I seriously hope this stuff becomes widely used and cannot wait to see the final book. I already want to play at least half the stuff from the book, especially a Dragon Champion/Mercurial Duelist.

Is the Inquisitive Detective the one that you said might be for slapping on top of archetypes that don't want the appearance abilities, in addition to replacing some social talents? Because if so, DROP THAT SHIT. I want to see what other kinds of bandaids you have to slap over the Warlock/Zealot/Noble Soul.

I also legit feel kind of ridiculous with how many of the suggestions have been mine. Sitting here with a list of unposted comments. Like giving a Str Mercurial Duelist the option to pick up the Oracle's "Cha-to-AC and reflex instead of Dex" ability up as a talent, just to keep Dex from overshadowing it too hard.

Hey guys I'm trying to design a monster here and I'm not sure what his CR should be.
It's a crocodile with the half-dragon template (black). On his own that should be CR 4.

The trick is that I'm advancing him with 4 HD in the Dragon type, so he should be able to Vital Strike with his bite. Adding 4 HD would give him a total of 7 HD which is what a CR 6 creature might have. (Compared to a Wyvern).

His CR should be about 7-9 then right?
>>
>>48164193
Looks like it's 1 vote all now.
Here's one of the mutagen talents

Evolving Mutagen (Su) Whenever the mad scientist imbibes their mutagen, they gain 1 evolution pointPU as though they were a bipedal unchained eidolonPU for the duration of their mutagen. A mad scientist does not need to meet subtypes requirements to select an evolution. At 6th level and every 6 levels thereafter, they gain an additional evolution point when imbibing their mutagen (up to a maximum of 4 at 18th level). Only a mutant mad scientist can select this talent.
>>48164229
I'm glad everyone's having fun, this has been really awesome for me too. And yeah, Detective is another 'throw on' archetype, although I might do some more tinkering with it once it hits the doc because that's what I do.

And I'd be totally fine with giving M. duelist something like that, although dex already has a talent tax. Speaking of which, how's everyone feeling on the Mercurial Duelist? Too weeby? Just weeby enough?

She worships Erastil, too. She's pretty much your common country-girl with an uncommon call to adventure.

For the most part the tech weapons are spectacularly overpriced (20 000 for a 2d6 energy rifle, 10gp per "charge" which is individual ammo but some things require multiple charges per shot), require two or more colossal artifact structures to craft (one powerplant and different labs depending on the items...) but resolve against touch-AC at all ranges.

Balancewise most of them are flat out useless because you'll not be able to keep them charged, but they're okay if you use one of the rare bypasses (Henshin Hero, Warsoul, Armorist, etc) that let you field the things without having to pay 10-50gp per "shot".

Of course, we all know what energy damage means once resistances come into play, and if you look at the price, they're in play when you can get one, so in reality the better high-tech weapons are the older 'advanced' or 'moderns' like double-barreled firearms or a Nagant rifle.

After all you can't Clustered Shots a Cold-Immune thing dead!
>>
>>48164474
Do you have a link to more information about her? I've never played a hunter before and I've been thinking of building one. I know not to take build inspiration from Paizo, but it would be nice to get some ideas in terms of backstory/personality.
>>
>>48163590
If Crossblooded/Wildblooded don't stack, just take Crossblooded with Orc and Copper Dragon. Same effect.
>>
>>48164519

Sure, http://paizo.com/paizo/blog/v5748dyo5lgdk?Meet-the-Iconics-Adowyn

Consider yourself a hunter (as in the profession) or woodsman with a fancy pet, maybe a cub or pup you rescued in the forest.
>>
>>48164488
I like to be sure on how weeby something can be, call it a personality quirk.

And I doubt I'll do that...probably...maybe...

>>48164517
So to make them viable, the archetype would have to come with some kind of bypass for a weapon that already makes firearms look cheap...beautiful.
>>
>>48163791
If this includes animal companions, you have a lot of options. If not there's the ones that have been mentioned already, plus the Nightmare Constructor archetype for Dread.
>>
What CR would a Thunderstorm with these features have?

70% chance of getting hit by a thunder

We travelled through it to avoid losing tracks of our enemies, swimming through a river with Swim DC 20.

What's your opinion?
>>
>>48164564
Well you can probably just let the abilities affect them, and let us worry about the rest. More a matter of compatibility since you'd listed "bolts, bullets, thrown, not just arrows" or the like, that I was asking about.

>>48164670
Thunder is just sound. People cannot be hit by thunder. You're describing lightning.

Also, there is no such thing as a storm in which you have a 70% chance of being struck by lightning, and this is just a very efficient way to kill your party and make them mad at you for designing a bullshit environment.
>>
>>48164325
Well, what you COULD do is make the Iaijutsu slash only replace the specialization and 8th level talent, since you're not actually "getting" the vital strike feats... Then at 4th level, give the choice between two options: The Oracle-rip Cha-to-AC/Reflex ability with some small extra, OR you can choose... Shit, I dunno, Power Attack without needing to meet the Str requirement?
>>
>>48164775
Jesus, how much fucking lightening is there if EVERYONE has a 70% chance every round. The place should be a fucking fire ball, everyone should be deaf and dead. Lets say you make the save 60% of the time.

.6*.7*10*3.5 = 14.7. So lets say average 15 damage per round to every player. That will kill a level 10 character given 10 rounds. So they will be dead after a minute outside.
>>
>>48164670
Consider the fact that on average, your party will receive 35*0.7=24.5 damage per round (if they don't make the savong throw). How long would they last inside that?
>>
>>48164670
To me that sounds like several mid-level magical traps working together.

70% chance of getting hit by lightning is ridiculous, are you all wearing magic lightning rods?

I actually probably could, now that they're not getting the feats, I don't think it needs to take the 4th level talent too. I could make 4th either Finesse Blade or Cha to AC/Reflex, since they're almost the same there.
>>
>>48164820
15 damage per round 70% chance. Under trap rules that is roughly:

Perception Check -1
Disable Device (not disableable) +4
Reflex save 23 +1
Attack Bonus (70% chance autohit) +2
Average Damage (35 multiple targets) +6
Automatic Reset +1

Over how wide of an area is it? It's around a CR 12 trap.

It's all good, I was wondering how that'd work, although I think mystic bolts fills that role well enough. No free enhancement, but you can already get mystic accuracy/deft shot or deft shot/genius vigilante, so they should be fine.

If I'm playing a Hawkguard Warder do I still gain Combat Reflexes as a bonus feat?

I have a feeling they were talking about the Soulknife's Mindblade, from DSP's psionics.

She's got a primal connection to the wolf, anon.

She's not fucking the wolf, she's feeling the wolf fucking a wolf, or tearing into a deer or hunting or whatever. She's basically relishing the raw sensations that wolf's enjoying while around her.
>>
>>48165581
That was the other thing I was assuming, I doubt LG wants me using DSP material. As for a magic item for mystic bolts, that'd be fair.

Mercurial Duelist no longer loses talents for iaijutsu slash because it's about as damaging as hidden strike, no reason to penalize it.

We're still at 1 vote each for Inquisitive Detective, Mad Scientist, and Trickshot Sniper, so if anyone else has a vote for which one gets posted today, please let me know. You've all helped make this playtest a lot of fun, and it hasn't even been a week already.

More magic items in general would be neat. Most of the focus has been on the archetypes and Vigilante Talents, which is good... But damn son, a good magic item or few would be pretty swell. Maybe a unique sword sheath for the Mercurial Duelist, a pair of gloves and armbands for the Warlock, maybe some sweet tattoos that anyone could use, and of course, a hairband for the Fortune Thief.

Awesome, so that's 3 detective, 2 trickshot, 1 mad scientist. To give you all an idea of what I have planned for trickshot, here's one of the talents.

Burning Ammo (Ex) [ammo] All damage from this ammo is fire damage. On a successful attack, the foe must make a Reflex saving throw or catch fire for a number of rounds equal to the trickshot sniper’s Charisma modifier (minimum 1). This fire damage ignores an amount of fire resistance equal to half the trickshot sniper’s level. At 8th level, this ammo deals splash damage equal to the minimum damage of this attack. At 14th level, this ammo burns hot enough to ignore all fire resistance a foe possesses, treating fire immunity as resist 30.

DDS has a vigilante archetype that bases on trick shots too, but mine couldn't be more different from theirs.

Hello everyone! I have been working on the Unchained Fighter & Scholar homebrews. After the feedback I received I have made a lot of edits to the Scholar class, and added multiple new Equipment, Armor, and Weapon trainings to the Unchained Fighter.

You can check them both out at the following links:

Scholar

3 for trick shot and 2 for scientist, so let me post another scientist talent.

False Tooth (Ex) The mad scientist can craft a false tooth for themselves, filling it with an infusion of their choice. As an immediate action, the mad scientist can crack the tooth, imbibing the infusion as they do A mad scientist can only craft a false tooth for themselves and can only have one false tooth at any time, taking 8 hours to craft a new one. At 10th level, the mad scientist can have two false teeth at the same time.

I agree that something like this should be an item, but an immediate action extract is pretty powerful. Also spoilers, they get alchemist casting AND the infusion discovery for free since it should have always been a part of the class.

Amusing that it only shows what the book holder might imagine, might be useful to have a greater version that reveals the fantasies of those it illustrates. For blackmail obviously.
>>
>>48166685
The false tooth does seem a bit like equipment, yes, but then most potions/extracts/etc are of greater volume than fit in a tooth. Maybe part of the process is distilling it down to fit in the tooth. Pretty sure there was a false tooth item already, but it was more for poison, which works in smaller doses anyway.

I'm planning on altering a few Alignment rules for a campaign, and I'm wondering if I missed anything. So far I've got this: Alignment is something that was defined by the gods, and only really matters to them and their followers. The basic rule of thumb is that you share the alignment of your home plane, and the Material Plane is neutral. If you're not a divine caster with the "Aura" class feature, undead, or an Outsider with an alignment subtype, your personal alignment basically doesn't matter and you detect as and are affected by spells as though you were True Neutral. Those with Aura treat their alignment as their god's rather than their own if different, but they are still limited to being within one step on either axis if that applies.

This has the effect of making most mortal races undetectable by Detect Evil (and its variants) even if they're of a high level, while the things that do ping, ping pretty hard. It would also make stuff like evil people (without Auras) wielding holy swords possible without gaining negative levels, and the aligned spells like Holy Word, Chaos Hammer, etc. affect most creatures as neutral, but have their full effects reserved for Demons, Angels, etc. or divine casters. I'll probably do away with Dispel Balance and its ilk in this system.

My question is, does this break anything I may have missed? Does this system work?

A search of the PF SRD came up with nothing. There was a false tooth in 3.5, but it could only be filled with a few things, nothing like an extract.

Also remember that if either Legendary Kineticists or the Kinetic Shinobis hit 3 new reviews on either OBS, Paizo, or OGS, I'll post both Mad Scientist and Trickshot Sniper tonight. I don't think I mentioned that here, but it's on the paizo thread. We're already at 2 (both for the kinetic shinobi on OBS).

Yeah, sorry about that, I really wanted it to stack with as many archetypes as possible, so I had to pull that feature. New player here. Is there an optimal build for an evil-aligned cleric? Things like which domains to take and what feats I should have. What weapon would be best to use, along with the enhancements I should put on it. Stuffs a little overwhelming when I think about it, and I don't want to fuck it up and regret my decision the entire game.

The new Paizo book.
It may be a lot of collected information that was already printed, but it does such a good job differentiating the different orders and it does a really great job of making it clear that Hellknights are predominantly LN, not LE.

It give a rather positive view of the Order of the Godclaw, Scourge, Scar, Torrent and Pike. Even the Nail and Pyre get a good review and a good argument as to why they shouldn't be relegated to villains. I cannot wait to be THE LAW.

Hey /pfg/. I just noticed that the glossary doesn't list the destroyed condition. It's weird because the rules make a distinction between when a creature or object is dead, broken, destroyed, disintegrated or annihilated, but doesn't explain what the latter three actually mean and sometimes uses the terms synonymously. Are corpses creatures with the dead condition, objects or both? What are the different types of anatomy relevant to animate dead and similar spells (i.e. which creatures have skeletons? what is "physical anatomy"?). One of the soul manipulation spells mentions some creatures are "bodiless souls" but only vaguely defines the descriptor. Which creatures qualify?

It's really quite frustrating because this sort of stuff is not intuitive at all.
>>
>>48169268
Google "define:destroyed" for a definition, you mongoloid. Not everything is a game term.
>>
Has anyone ever taken the Ranger's Companion Bond instead of an Animal Companion? It seems like the former is inherently worse than the latter to me.
>>
>>48169528
Dead, disabled, broken, paralyzed, helpless, and tons of other terms are defined game terms. These are not the same as their dictionary definitions.

How do I determine if a given fantasy monster has a skeletal system or a "physical anatomy" whatever that is even supposed to be? Obviously an amorphous creature has no skeleton, but does an animate plant's cellulose roots and stem count as a skeletal system? Does a flumph have a skeleton?

Pathfinder extended glossary

Destroyed [condition]: an object, construct or undead creature reduced to 0 hit points is destroyed. A corpse with the destroyed condition is considered disintegrated.
Disintegrated [condition]: a corpse that is disintegrated is not subject raise dead, but may be returned to life by resurrection or stronger magic.
Annihilated [condition]: a corpse that is annihilated leaves no remains behind. It is not subject to raise dead, resurrection or other spells that require a portion of the corpse.
Corpse [creature, object]: a corpse is both an object and a creature with the dead condition. It has hit points equal to 25 minus the creature's hit points upon death. A destroyed corpse gains the disintegrated condition. The precise condition of a corpse is important for the purposes of healing and necromancy spells and effects.

Intact [condition]: an object with at least half its hit points is intact and functions normally. An intact corpse is subject to raise dead and similar spells.
Mutilated [condition]: a corpse with the broken condition is considered mutilated. A mutilated corpse is not subject to raise dead or other revival spells that require an intact corpse. If the corpse loses the broken condition, it loses the mutilated condition.
Skeletal [condition]: a corpse with the skeletal condition is mutilated and not subject to spells and effects that animate the corpse as an undead creature with a fleshy exterior.

How does infusion extracts work?
>>
>>48170061
Extracts normally cease functioning if they 1) leave the Alchemist's possession or are used on another creature or 2) are left out for 24 hours.

Infused extracts maintain their potency, allowing them to be set down and used by other creatures, and they remain functional for longer than 24 hours (so if you create an infusion of Stoneskin it isn't wasted if you don't use it on the day you create it).

The problem is that they take up the Alchemist's spell slots as long as they exist and the Alchemist can't choose to make infusions inert remotely, so a dickish DM can actually remove an Alchemist's ability to cast spells by stealing all their infusions. Chirurgeons have a specific wording that lets them get around that weakness for their infusions, but every other Alchemist has that problem.
>>
>>48170052
I made it up. I based it on my own common sense, but as always common sense rules are up for debate.
>>
>>48170119
Eh, I feel like any DM worth playing with wouldn't do that outside of something like short plot hook, feats and the like aren't supposed to give negatives.
>>
>>48170238
It does also have effects outside of that. Handing out infusions to allies means you're working with a smaller pool of spells until they use them. Putting an infusion in a Preserving Flask, besides being a waste of money, means that spell is locked until someone drinks from the flask unlike a normal extract which stops counting against your daily limit.

Actually, the preserving flask states that it doesn't keep your spell slots after 24 hours, it's worded around limiting infusions like that on purpose.

I'm starting to roleplay with some friends for the first time, the gm let us check out on a monster that we will usually face in the earlier steps on the campaign so we can plan accordingly on whats to come.

Abrikandilu CR 3
XP 800
CE Medium outsider (chaotic, demon, evil, extraplanar)
Init +0; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +12

DEFENSE

AC 15, touch 10, flat-footed 15 (+5 natural)
hp 32 (5d10+5)
Fort +5, Ref +4, Will +3
DR 5/cold iron; Immune electricity, poison; Resist acid 10, cold 10, fire 10
Weaknesses hatred of mirrors

I have some questions, when it says. Resist fire 10. Does it mean it reduces every fire damage by 10?

I wanted to play as an arcane trickster using scorching ray, but seeing the fire resistance thing made me back down on that idea because i would be dealing a lot less damage than intended.

So what would you guys suggest for a ranged character against this enemies? The party needed someone with magic and at least being able to have lots of skill points so i found out arcane trickster was very good there but i don't really know anymore.

Any suggestions?

Mana Khemia-anon here. Just got finished looking at them, and personally I prefer the Kobold Press one, though mostly because I kinda like how it limits your spell choice versatility in an appropriate yet thematic way.
>>
>>48171224

Many thanks! I'll see if i cant make something good out of it.
>>
>>48171212
Energy Resistance means that every time it takes fire damage from any source, that damage is reduced. This means each ray of Scorching Ray is reduced by 10 points.

Arcane Trickster isn't bad, but it isn't great either. Prestige classes in general aren't a very good idea, but energy resistance isn't enough of a reason to completely back away from a character, considering how many ways you'll be able to deal damage using other elements or without relying on energy damage at all.

If you are going to focus on elemental damage, fire is considered to be the worst element to focus on, since it's the most commonly resisted element, and there are more creatures immune to fire than to any other element.

Also, the example you gave is extremely weak. By the time you can take levels in Arcane Trickster, you should be able to murder one of those in one round with pretty much no effort anyway.

What can I do to deal with my PC and his party-mates getting slammed with negative levels all the time? I know we can remove them with restoration, but only at a rate of 1/week, and we're gaining them faster than that on account of all the undead we have to deal with. Our party has an oracle (no cleric), but she doesn't know Greater Restoration. Will probably pick it up at our next chance, but we have to survive that long...

What items or other spells will allow us to get past the restriction on the how quickly negative levels can be removed? Alternatively, how can we get immunity to negative levels, preferably in a form that will last at least 10 minute/level?

Why are you saying our Lord's and Savior's (DSP's) ideas are stupid? That's not acceptable on these boards.
>>
>>48171619
Yeah, but Death Ward only lasts 1 minute/level and only affects a single target. That's gonna be hella inefficient if that's all we can do. Are there no items that can give you the effect of Death Ward for a longer period?

Asking as a relative newcomer to Pathfinder, can someone give a detailed explanation of why people here don't like Paizo? I get the system isn't very balanced, but I haven't seen much about Paizo as a company or about its employees.

4/10 Do a better job at shitposting
>>
>>48171710
Ah, that seems like it would be great. I'll have to see if our DM will let us craft them, but if he does that'd probably be a great solution, seeing as they're so cheap.

>>48171725
Yeah, Deathless was something I looked in to, but it's not going to work out very well (especially since we have no one who can craft magic armor for the party).
>>
>>48171702
Gunsmoke Mystic is generally considered to be a bit better, but Desperado's still rather good, especially if you don't want to deal with the Mystic's annoying-ass recovery method.

Depends on the rest of the party and the gestalt in question. If it's just slapping two martials together in order to not do the multiclassing shuffle in a medium-high op party, sure. If it's a low op party, hell no. If it's trying to get something like the MT to work, you might as well design a PrC for what the player wants to do tbdesu.

Chained Summoner or Bard for early entry shenanigans.
>>
>>48168720
For the Kobold Press one: Spell Synthesis is a special kind of bullshit. Needing to cross cast a level higher is kind of dumb and just means an optimizer will just load up on the spells at their lowest level possible. The SLA ability will get all sorts of wacky with shit like Blood Money or Creation spells.

Turret Specialist Anon here.

I had a discussion (argument) with my girlfriend today about the turret in my archetype, she claims that a full BAB progression for the turret would effectively render any fighter grouped with the Turret Specialist useless.

I disagree, though I already think fighters are useless anyway.

Do you guys think I should drop the turret to 3/4 BAB progression, or leave it at full?

http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Fangwood

Considering the majority of the citations come from the Inner Sea World Guide, you might start there. Should be in the trove.
>>
>>48172600
3/4 seems more appropriate since most other "pet" type creatures progress at 3/4ths including constructs but I'm not totally sure on that. On the other hand it's damage is sort of limited otherwise, not to mention a fighter is probably useless at either medium or full progression like you already said.
>>
>>48172439
Summon Monster and Summon Nature's Ally can get you: brachiosaurus, tyrannosaurus, roc, dire shark and purple worm
>>
>>48172664
I was considering 3/4 until level 6 or so, with an "upgrade" to full progression onward, but i feel that would be confusing.

It would help with the early level competition with martials who might get jealous.
>>
>>48172804
Give them a BAB patch +1 to hit and damage, scaling at the levels BAB doesn't progress for 3/4th progression.
