Okay, I'm about to start painting this bad ass. But I want to attach some sort of extra bits to the Mumak's tusks. If you watch Lord of the Rings, the Mumak's each have sort of unique designs and extra barbs and shit.
Any idea's or thoughts on how to create these? I thought toothpicks perhaps, glued to the tusks?
Any idea's if I wanted to wrap the Mumaks leg's in what would look like steel barbed wire?
Any other idea's along these lines are welcome!
Notice here, the barbs on this guy..
Get some putty on those leg joints first.

I sort of already primed it.... :(
Do they look that bad?

Just reprime or strip off the primer. Also, can you maybe give me some meaasurements on how big the howdah is? I wat thinking of buyin' one of these and converting it for my warhammer dudes
Also for the tusk decorations just use miniature barbed wire from armypainter and some bits of wood or something. Maybe cut up some bits of spure to be pointy

Measurement? hmm I'd say from top of the tower to the base it's a good 10 inches. and maybe 8 across.

Could you take a tape measure to each patform and give me a hard measurement?

An entire horse speared on one of the tusks.

I did exactly what you are describing to my Mumak. No pictures, but I shaved down toothpicks to look less like toothpicks, gave them a tapered point, then drilled holes in the tusks and glued them in. After painting I wrapped the area in hemp string (this really great rough looking brown stuff you can find at craft stores.) that should get the effect you want.

Eww, don't recommend Testors - they make the shittiest putty on the market. Get some glazing/spot putty for cars, way easier to deal with.

There was a issue of White Dwarf that had them doing conversions to make them look like the movie. I don't recall what issue though.
