As a semi-new player I'm having issues. I want to rp better and just be a more involved player in general but I am just terrible with words. It's even worse when the people I play with are really experienced. How did you deal with your irl low Charisma /tg/?

That makes it a bit tougher. Ever taken any drama classes or improv acting? Easiest method I've found is just take some time before the game to really get into the mindset of my character, think like they would think and all that. Try to take like 10 minutes or so alone before the next session starts, put on some fantasy music and try to concentrate on being your character rather than playing him.

I hate this bullshit. Seems like every tool to help players or DMs be more immersive is just "Roll on this table." Its a fucking travesty! Open up, read some fantasy or sci-fi, and breathe life into your characters. Don't roll on some arbitrary table!

Are you too shy to speak up?
Have trouble explaining what you're doing?
Not good with flowery expressions?
Not good with witty lines or subtle jokes?
If it's the last two - don't worry about it at all. Only snobs care if you're not an actor/writer/comedian. The important part is doing things that advance the story.
If you're having trouble explaining yourself, you just need to take a moment to sort out your thoughts before speaking. If you try to hurry up, you'll just have more trouble speaking. The more experience you have, the more easily it'll come to you and the more quickly you'll be able to say your bit.
If you're just too shy, then you might consider approaching the GM and/or whoever you're most comfortable with in the game and get them to work with you. You might work better if other people prompt you for what you're doing/what your character thinks.
Really, whatever the issue is, playing more games (with different people) is only going to help. Don't worry that you don't have experience. The point is to have fun without being That Guy and learn.
