>What happens if someone only gets the OOO driver, Ancient Driver, or Coin Flip and some Core Medals, or Greed is Good? Are they left powerless while others aren't? Would losing the Core Medals from Greed is Good kill you? Actually would that happen if you lose them normally?

Ah, I see what you mean.
I should probably specify that the only medals attracted by this are canon medals, so Greed is Good doesn't get fucked by this, as Greed is Good only gives you a Jumper medal combo
Ancient Driver also gives you a jumper medal, the only person who would be possibly fucked would be probably someone with only the OOO driver
But remember that you can get the purple medal combo in the DLC, and that might be downright beneficial for you as their greed-bane effects would be effective against the Mad King due to using almost all greed-based stuff!
I'll figure out how to do that, but for now, it might be best to invest in the purple medals if that build is the case
They combo nicely with all the other Core Medal treasures as well

While you're fielding Neo Hessei questions, since the Power Cosmic's most runs on friendship we're trying to come up with a way of using it without, you know. Resorting to drastic measures like being friendly or having friends.

Suppose you had a way of storing emotions as energy (Fear Tech, Monsters Inc), one of your companions is capable of manipulating friendship as an energy field (The Power of Friendship, Chroma Squad) and you have a knack for reverse engineering mass-energy conversion phenomena (Creative Composer, Ar Tonelico)

Suppose you then had a form of technology that interfaces with the human psyche (Psychonautics, Psychonauts), another form of technology that can extract brainwaves as a tangible energy field (Collective Brainwave Charger, Biomega), two forms of technology which involve mass-energy conversion with an exotic energy component that is modulated by a specific emotional mindset (Song Science, Ar Tonelico/Pagan Science, Symphogear) and a secondary form of technology that can add a dimensional component to the broadcast of sonic-based exotic energy transmissions (Touched by the Protoculture+Listen to my Voice!, Macross).

Then let's say you have both access to forms of psychic technology (Bonesinger/Tall and Narrow Gate, Eldar) and technology belonging to that same race capable of containing psychic emissions (Pre-Fall Science, Commoragh). To cap it all, suppose you have an adaptive form of infrastructure (City of Heaven, Lord of Light) and forms of technology which automatically assimilate, adapt and upgrade what they're exposed to (Karmatron Dynamics/Regenerator Nano, GUNNM and Orb Design Plans, Swat Kats and Defragmentation Device, Blame!)

In short-if one created an extradimensional emotion storage/refinement facility and used an interdimensional door system to collect friendship energy from a populated area before transmitting it via Wraithbone/grathnode occult matrixes through the main facility, can you run Power Cosmic-based technology from friendship harvested from other people? Would there be a noticeable increase in the quality of the technology if said energy and the technology used to process it were to be refined several times into a higher quality form e.g. by altering it such that it has greater latent energy?

Or does it /absolutely/ require personal investment in the friendship to do all the mass-energy conversion properly?

I think he's got some subconscious self-destructive impulse resulting from self-loathing after Cosmic Fire left him. In truth, he wants to get shot into space then kicked down to Earth by a rocket drill. This is just his way of goading Gentaro into doing it. Shame that with all his perks he's likely to survive it, meaning that he's near certain to be befriended afterwards.

We have it, actually. The main concern is a loss in power efficiency from running it on something it's not intrinsically designed for. We're just exploring all our options here before giving up and just firing up the thaumic fusion reactors or antimatter circuits or something. The despair engines sadly aren't going to cut it since that apparently makes the energy become self-destructive.

You're not familiar with Kamen Rider Fourze, are you? This is a man who came back from the dead just so he could tell his murderer "Hey, it's okay, I know you had your reasons." And he somehow did this without invoking any Christ allusions. Gentaro can befriend literally anything. If he fights you, it will only be so that he can subdue you long enough to have a heart to heart conversation with you about how he thinks you're a great person who deserves happiness.

>Solus being destroyed/eaten/etc. by ANYONE is going to be a loss condition. There is a way to alleviate that, but it's bundled in with a +600 Drawback. No Companions, no pets, no summons, no sun-based powers, and no in-universe allies. Everyone but you is dead, Solus is gone, and the Varelsi are everywhere. Anything you had to avoid their hostility is effectively moot. And they're getting stronger every day. Have fun.

Okay, so I've got some Eclipse Phase fever at the moment completely unrelated to a recent trip into the TQZ and I have some pretty solid ideas for a Firewall-themed jump.

For those not in the know, Firewall is the vigilante conspiracy the PCs are assumed to be a part of (as the mechanism for why this eclectic bunch of screwballs are all together), but it's by no means compulsory for playing the Eclipse Phase RPG.
Firewall's job is to try to prevent threats to transhumanity as a whole, but from my experience the PCs usually get mixed up in other stuff going on in the setting as well (liberating Mars, fighting ego-thieves, treasure hunting etc.).

Jump structure would be insertion into a Firewall cell as either a drop in or one of its seven specialist roles (Router, Crow, Sentinel, Eraser etc. which equate to Leader, Researcher, Agent, and Clean-Up respectively, plus a few other roles).

You then build eight other members of the cell (and/or import companions).
Most of the perks I have so far are skill packages related to in-game skills or traits. I have a solid idea of a scenario and the drawbacks to include as well.

The problem is I'm not sure how to incorporate this into a broader Eclipse Phase jump. The issue is that without the structure of Firewall, EP's system is classless and presents a challenge to divide up into the usual array of "backgrounds" the way /jc/ is used to.
So I'm unsure whether I should:
1. Make the EP jump with Firewall as a second jump (ala DDS pt.1 & DDS pt.2)?
2. Make the EP jump with Firewall add-on?
3. Incorporate them both into the same jump (since they are the same setting after all)? Is is only an issue since I can imagine people wanting to jump EP without the added baggage of being a member of Firewall.

So I'm looking for input, ideas or suggestions, and apologies if someone else has already claimed the setting.

HEY! I'll have you know that SOLU has feelings too man.
Totally made sure she stuck around, but sorta gave her my newly made Quantum Switch as a focus for her existence. As long as she is observed in any way shape or form, she exists. The Kamen Rider club is awesome in that way.

And I may or may not have given the kids a Chekov's Gun to use much, much later.
Kamen Rider Nadeshiko's Quantum States is all kinds of marvellous bullshit from what I heard...no, I did not infiltrate the school as a female student who wants to be the best actress in the world. No I did not join the club to be their spymaster with laughable disguises that only the Club Members can see through. And no, I did not have a massive case of hero onii-san worship for my male identity in the Jump.

>pic related

I simply heard about this chick who showed up after I left and that she was posing as my sister who had been chasing after me. After my Ranma Jump, I've learned to stay away from such crazies.
>>
>>47675288
You could do something like what Bloodborne did and let people choose one perk each tier to have discounts on.
>>
>>47675288
If you think that Firewall would make things easier, I'm fine with that being the focus. There are other things to do in Eclipse Phase (I'd personally love a Gatecrasher option), but Firewall covers so much that it should still be a great showcase of the setting.

>The World, reversed (A great work betrayed. Regret and disappointment.)
>Age: 26
>Location: New Kurn (-100)
>Race: Human
>Identity: Apprentice (-1000)
It's worth paying the points to go to New Kurn. I'd rather gain the abilities of some sort of freaky glowing critter than try to be some ridiculous dragon. And I've got the time to invest, after all...
>Drawbacks: Ravenloft (+100)
This is not a pleasant place. That will not be a pleasant follow-up.
>Preserver (Free, Apprentice)
Ah, so I know the PROPER way to cast magic in this world... you know what, combine that with the plant-based biomancy I've got, and I might actually be able to make the world a (slightly) better place.
>The Way (Free, Apprentice)
Psionics as well? Oh, that will be entertaining. I bet that will grow rapidly as well, this isn't the first perk I've gotten that gives psionics, though it probably is the most flexible.

To be fair, this won't be a terribly entertaining decade. I'm sure I'll be going out and doing things, but I'll spend more of my time apprenticed to Oronis. But like I said... I want to make the world a better place, and the best way to do that is finding some way to get vegetation to take hold in the desert.

There will be rain on Arrakis... I mean Athas. Even if I have to return post-spark to make it happen.

speaking of Fourze is adapting the Fourze driver to accept Gaia memories instead of Astroswitches a good idea? I'm only a episode five of Fourze but I think Gaia memories are much cooler/better potential for armament. Also is Kamen Rider Fourze OOO Movie Taisen Mega Max one of the Canon movies because I want the villains driver from that movie. And I can totally imagine my Jumper stealing it before the villain can use it.

>Jump 33: Ravenloft
>Ten of Pentacles, reversed (The loss of reputation or inheritance.)
>Age: 22
>Location: Mordent
Ah, Victorian England again - wait, no, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.
>Identity: Drop-In
>Drawbacks: Scarred (+100), Holy (+200)
So not only are the monsters going to hate me, but it's going to be blatantly obvious that I'm a monster - no hiding it. Okay. We'll work with that.
>Iron Will (1200, Drop-In)
Not that it isn't already covered, but... it doesn't hurt.
>Mistwalker (900, Drop-In)
You know... it occurs to me that disappearing into the mists like that is actually a part of the normal vampire powerset in some settings.
>Monstrous (100)
A vampire? In Ravenloft? Say it ain't so, Joe!
>Spectacles of Clear Sight (0)
These should work especially nicely if I combine them with by stand-sight glasses.

I think this is going to be something a bit different, but I'm hardly going to go chaotic stupid - instead I'm going back to my roots with Hellsing here. A monster that hunts monsters. Of course there's no one holding my leash, and I need to be a bit careful to not lose myself in the hunt, so I'll need some side projects as well. You know, I remember a perk I took a while back to help me make magitech. Maybe I should look into that and see what fun I can create in this setting...

>Artifactory (1650)
I'm going to be here for a very long time. I might as well spend my time wisely.
>Arcane Adept (Free, Arcane)
Basic spellcraft? Not a bad idea to get one's foot in the door.
>Tower Trained (1500, Arcane)
But formal training is always an important thing. Not even sure I want to be in one of the orders, but if I must, I'll go for the Order of the Red Robes. Neutrality is an unfortunate necessity.
>Hedgemage (1350, Arcane)
Of course, just because I have training doesn't mean I'm not looking for other ways.
>Archmage of High Sorcery (1050, Tower Trained)
Being able to brush off the more problematic issues with astrology, while still being able to use the helpful ones, is a great aid.
>Renegade Magecraft (750, Hedgemage)
And being able to get more return for my investment, spell-wise, is always a benefit.
>Acolyte (650)
Oh, channeling divine magic too, are we? I feel the warp overtaking me.
>Seeker (50)
IT IS A GOOD PAIN.
>Items: Merch (Free), Texts (Free), Parts Parts and More Parts (0)
>>
>>47675400
Every 600 point capstone you get gives you a discount on an item, and those will all be very useful: I get to learn how the canon is supposed to go, I get useful texts beside that as to the nature of Chaos and the concept of chaos itself, and replenishing source of parts to play with.

Now, see, this is where things get a bit interesting. Because on reflection... it seems that the Kender were created by Chaos. Why would Chaos do that? Well, Chaos has been locked up in a gray pokeball for a few thousand years, so I'm pretty sure that if I were in his shoes with people fighting over the damn pokeball but no one wanting to let him out, I'd be more than a little peeved too.

And why is everyone so pants-on-head retarded in Dragonlance? Because they literally SEALED AWAY AN ALIGNMENT. He's not just a deity, he's an integral part of life - when Chaos gets out, you get wild sorcery and mortals able to play with magic more easily. This propaganda about Chaos being nothing but a force of destruction is nothing but that - propaganda.

So screw this Chaos War stupidity. I'm going to find his pokeball and let him out as quickly as I can, and once I've done that and the gods eventually get exiled again, I'm going to bring him back by getting people to worship him. It's going to be a very, very long jump for me, but it's going to be very much worth it.

Well... either that, or I'll live to regret my mistakes. Carpe diem, eh?

Yeah, that Mina bitch of a Mary Sue is getting her brains blown out, since I'll be around just long enough for her to pop up, and she is among the few who I will very happily erase the soul of.

Fuck retcons and lazy writing.

>Mina was a born of the joy of the combined gods when the world of Krynn was forged by Reorx during the Age of Starbirth. When born in the Age of Starbirth, only Paladine, Mishakal and Majere witnessed the arrival of the new god of light. However they knew that this would upset the Balance, so Paladine asked Majere to send her into a slumber and hide her away, rather than let this radiant being be destroyed.

Literally written into the setting by some hack of a writer in a Dragonlance novel series, had all the hallmarks of a Mary Sue, got the evil knights to all follow her, brought back the gods, and conquered the world.

You remember Kyp Durran, by chance? From what I'm seeing, she's measurably worse in Mary Sue-ness. Written by one of the people who joined the Dragonlance team in 2004.

Look, the whole setting is fucked. Letting Chaos loose is doing it a SERVICE. If Chaos destroys them, well, honestly? They're probably BETTER OFF.

Honestly, if a jumper wants to do that, I think they can go for it, but there's easier ways to get similar results in the first place.

Making their own tame TITAN? There's straight up AI-genesis and technokinesis from other places.
Psi-epsilon powers aren't that great compared to other kinds of psychic powers or magic that can be had elsewhere with less risk.
If they did get psi-epsilon powers through reverse engineering the exurgent virus or something, they wouldn't have the Jump-chan Guaranteeâ„¢ that comes with spending cp on stuff, and remember you need a meat brain to use psi.
Plus if they can reverse-engineer the exurgent virus, I'm pretty sure they could have made something similar on their own anyway.
>>
>>47675755
Well, you don't need a meat brain to use Exsurgent psi. But I'm not worried about someone trying to powergame with this. I'm amused by the idea of someone plugging evil alien cancer into their brain in an attempt to gain a power boost. There are so many ways that could end badly, and I want to see all of them.

I think my companions are done with the whole adventuring thing? I don't know. They can have their lives on the ships, and they'll help me, but they're not going to go out and do stuff anymore. They settle down the ships near the Animal Crossing Town and handle shit for themselves and I'm the one who goes off and does stuff. Which I guess works out. I've specced in traveling and had a mission for Dragonlance, and they just got bored eventually and decided to do what they could for our people. The Ships have changed so much over the millenia spent on Krynn that they're unrecognizable from the start. Isaac never stopped trying to improve the things and had access to samples of tech from Steven Universe to DC and Marvel, including a Green Lantern Battery and Ring. Throw in Asriel's space warping and dozens of different magics and suddenly everything that follows us between jumps is a monster of supertech and sorcery.

And they upgraded my Arwing in exchange for whatever bits I can bring them. Slippy is doing his best to keep up, and Starwolf is about 10% more cyborg every time we fight them. I think I'll spend the next few jumps improving this thing. There's not much of a story here, besides that everything followed it's best route in the games because then everything gets a happy ending. There wasn't a need to change anything, besides a new incredibly superfluous character.

So, I'm thinking about throwing together a Mortal Hero (Exalted) Gauntlet. How would jumpers respond?
>>
>>47676346
I think you'd need to talk to Babylon to make sure you don't step on each others toes, other than that... Gauntlets are a bit... meh. I know they can be good but... I guess they're a bit too restricting compared to the normal rather freeform nature of jumps.
>>
>>47676346
Only if the reward is "you've impressed an Exaltation shard by facing the dangers of Creation without your powers, you're Exalted now". Because otherwise there's no way in hell I'm accepting the risk of going to that place as a gauntlet. I know, you carry on even if you die and fail a gauntlet. Creation has many worse fates than death.
>>
>>47676402
Ok, but you don't speak for everyone, and I'd love the chance to be a heroic mortal in Exalted.
>>
>>47676378
Ah, I didn't know that there was even anyone doing anything Exalted on JC. I'll wait until I can speak with him before posting anything, but I mostly wanted to get a feel for how people would react to some of my ideas. It would be Hard Mode to begin with and only get more extreme as you took drawbacks

>>47676402
Nope. I understand the concerns you have, and agree with them, but it ain't going to be that easy, otherwise everyone in Creation would need to Exalt, as all of them have undergone that challenge before. Nah, I was thinking that the changes to you in the Gauntlet are now a part of your base, Body Mod, form if you make it through the trails and tribulations of Creation during the Age of Sarrows. Though I might have to change the way that is worded a few times before I'm satisfied with the way it works out. How does that sound though?

Again I'm just spitballing the idea here.
>>
>>47676475
He asked how I would respond. I responded. I never claimed to speak for the entire community.

>>47676478
Well, that is pretty nice, but still not enough for me to chance it. You should make the gauntlet, other people seem to be down for it, but I don't think I'll jump it.
>>
>>47676478
>Changes are now part of your body mod
No.
>>
>>47676478
I think you'll need to find another idea. Adding your own stuff to the body mod thing seriously impacts all the jumps that reduce you to Body Mod level as part of the jump or as a drawback. Look at some of the other gauntlet's (Mostly LLTQ really) for ideas on what you should give as rewards and keep in mind that Gauntlet's have zero risk, so the rewards should be similarly low to match that lack of risk.

>I'm only a episode five of Fourze but I think Gaia memories are much cooler/better potential for armament.
Gaia Memories are cool, don't get me wrong, but Fourze Switches are just on another level. Let me put it this way:

- Think of ANY piece of technology. You can make that a switch.
- How about ANY celestial body? Yup, you can make that a switch.
- Maybe celestial phenomena? No problem, switch ahoy!
- Laws of Physics? Read above.

These Switches fuck around with the Laws of Conservation of Energy and Mass in ways that are just retarded. I mean, there's a Medic Switch, it allows Fourze to get a First Aid module that has a cure for whatever already synthesized and ready for safe use in humans! What kind of bullshit is that?!

So yeah. That's what Cosmic Switches can do.

The Gaia Memories basically collapse knowledge into a solid form.

The Core Medals take concepts and play with them.

The Cosmic Switches use the power of friendship to create stuff.

It's a matter of what you want to do and what you're most comfortable with. I thought I wanted to use the Gaia Memories, but then I realized that the Cosmic Switches were more my speed.

>>47676544
Basically no Jumps reduce you down to base Body Mod, though. They reduce you down to human - which means Pokemon's 100 CP Captain America perk. The only one which will really be affected is LoT, and I'm OK taking it down a notch.
>>
>>47676646
More than LoT reduces you down to Body Mod as a mechanic or drawback. And writing a perk into your jump because you want to spite another is poor form and a bad precedent.
>>
>>47676646
Yeah no, I'm not really keen on the body mod permanent alteration idea either. Shit's 2meta.
>>
>>47676646
Plenty of power seal drawbacks have been clarified by jump makers to reduce you to Bodymod. And no, if a drawback reduced you to human you'd also lose what you got in Pokemon.
>>
>>47676646
>The only one which will really be affected is LoT, and I'm OK taking it down a notch.

>>
>>47676667
Name one that uses "Body Mod" rather than "all your powers" or something similar. Nobody uses Body Mod because Body Mod gives you super speed, super endurance, and super senses.
>>
>>47676689
Pokemon's 100 CP perk gives you a peak human. So no, you wouldn't lose it unless a jump explicitly drops you to body mod.
>>
>>47676712
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5Za8HggalY
>>
>>47676646
Body Mod is the base for all subsequent alt forms, though. So if you were to make something like that all those drawbacks that reduce you down to human form would still leave you exalted.

Its literally shitting on tons of jumps and drawbacks. It's way too meta.
>>
>>47676729
And even then, considering that Body Mod comes after Pokemon, you might not lose it depending on how you interpret things.
>>
>>47676729
That requires the drawback specifically state it reduces you to human levels, instead of just saying it removes anything you got from out of the jump you are currently in. If it's the latter or some variation of it, then yes, you do lose Pokemon stuff. Tough luck.
>>
>>47676722
The default assumption in guantlets is you retain body mod purchases unless clarified otherwise.

And you're missing the point-making a jump specifically to shit on one of the oldest mechanics in the chain is really not a good reason to make a jump at all.

>>47676689
I see your point, however at the Mortal Hero level of Exalted you're not getting anything that the Body Mod can't provide, aside from two exceptions that I can think of. Supernatural Martial Arts and Sorcery, both of which need you do some serious shit to get to, being the capstones of humanities ability. Furthermore said abilities are sealed at the Terrestrial level, which while high doesn't do much more that make you hit harder, more accurately, and grants minor exotic effects like 'Burns Creatures of Darkness'. All of the effects are minor at best outside Creation, where Essence is far greater. This on top of the fact that there are no Perfects in the Terrestial level, that I know of, so I'm avoiding that foolishness.
>>47676636
Again, just spitballing here. There is no need for calling an idea 'Power Wanking' and then immediately turn to 'Get an Exaltation!'. That's not a good precedent.
>>47676748
Again no Exalting, it's a Mortal Hero gauntlet with no option of Exaltation. That's the point. The drawbacks in question reduce you to a 'normal human' of the Jump, usually, and even then they do it by the 'all perks shut down' route instead of anything else, in which case you are the person from before the Body Mod.

>>47676835
No need to get argumentative, this is currently a completely theoretical Gauntlet.
>>
>>47676889
You asked for feedback and you're getting it. Offering up a reward that buffs Body Mod is a bad idea. It screws with tons of other jumps, and the suggestion that you're doing it merely to spite LoT puts people off.
>>
>>47676889
Just don't put that mechanic in, trust me in that it'll make this whole deal so much easier. Or you can keep trying to force it but hopefully the entirely negative reaction so far shows that won't work. The more you force it, the more opposed people will be and eventually they'll oppose the entire jump on principle.
>>

>>47677028
These are all good, but they feel like something you should be able to get through CP.

>>47677037
Is LLTQ the benchmark for a good Gauntlet? I see the others have greater and more wide sweeping rewards and they aren't referenced like LLTQ has been.

Manopoly grants infinite money and an built in exchange system. SOMA grants it's tech trees, all of them. Darkest Dungeon grants the Manor, the Ancestor, and/or the ability to combine four companions to one companion slot. Halo grants a forerunner combat skin. Jumanji nets you the game itself.

All of this leans Gauntlets towards the high-risk high-reward type thing.

>>47677097
Nah, I have a preference with checking in on the views of the people who review the final product. Peer review is nice and all, but /jc is where I want to see my Jumpchains be run on.

Monopoly doesn't grant infinite money. SOMA's tech not only isn't that impressive, the only thing you get from the actual reward is a virtual sim you can't take out of the warehouse. Darkest Dungeon is Clover's, so of course it's broken to all hell and has stuff snuck through, Halo is barely even considered usable, given we had an actual jump made for it and umanji just gets you a low power boardgame. None of these, save Darkest Dungeon perhaps, are 'high reward' and all of them are 'zero risk' because gauntlets are inherently without risk. You cannot die in them. You either win and get the reward or don't win and move on to new jumps.
>>
>>47677245

>Mantra, Chakra and Shinso

Honestly, that's a damn good question. Muyo had some funny ideas about putting his fanwank into canon, which I kind of understood at the time and later regretted. I think Shinso is just a big oversight on the jumpmaker's part because otherwise he's pretty reasonable about this sort of thing. Chakra at least is kind of like Nasu magic in that nothing short of fiat would let it keep working outside it.

>>47677225
There's something similar in Darkstalkers, FF14 and Light of Terra re: the Choirs.

I thought Gauntlet's were suppose to be so challenging that without the safety net of 'Don't worry it doesn't end your Chain' no one would take it. Now it seems kinda like a very minor power grab, with a few truly challenging jumps usually ignored. That is merely my opinion.

Drawbacks: Aw Crud, Loser (+100), The ENFORCERS Can Handle This!!! (+200)

I'll be playing the metal guitar myself, thanks. I didn't go to Sabaton for nothing. That's most of what I'm doing this jump, actually. Teleporting places and playing the guitar during the weekly Swat Kats fights, probably with a camcorder pointed at me to record everything. I'm going to sell it as "Weirdo Alien Plays Guitar: Giant Monster Fights Edition". And of course, no one takes my art seriously. The Enforcers just go on and on about how I'm "getting in the way" and how they'll arrest me for getting in the way of their duties. No jail can hold art, man.

The orb design is more about the AI being a one-sphere singularity than anything. I plan on leaving it with Isaac to experiment on how he chooses.

I'll only occasionally join in the whole plane fighting business, and then only if I screw something up and need to make amends. Which admittedly happens a lot when someone freaks out about you blasting sick riffs from their wing, being held on by nothing but hope and chakra.

I...guess?

Yeah.

I mean, it's funny when you put it like that but those are the ones people seem to have anything positive to say about, when they remember they exist at all.

I guess Light of Terra and Golden Sky Stories have gauntlet-like conditions too?

Why is it being shit on when other things exist? For one those things don't negatively impact you, and go to explain how you can continue using those abilities in future jumps with a lack of metaphysics. Meanwhile,
> changes to you in the Gauntlet are now a part of your base, Body Mod, form
is more of a punishment considering all the potential BAD THINGS THAT CAN/WILL HAPPEN TO YOU in Exalted that are now a permanent part of your base, is what makes people want to smack you in the head with words. Shinsoo, Chakra, Mantra? Energy sources that exist and your biology can manipulate them without overmuch change. Being mutated into a flesh abomination/hivemind/pick your example. There is a distinct difference between these things.

>>do Normal-types have a weakness to Fire or Water?
Nope, not unless they're Normal/something else. But there's not many dual-types with Normal as one of them. Normal takes 2x damage from Fighting and is Immune to Ghost.

If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on Norman winning. It would be a pretty straight-forward brawl, depending on the teams involved, but Normal-types would have a better chance of knowing some devastating Electrical, Grass, or Water-type move. That said, all it would take would be a few good Fighting moves to roll Norman's team. His choices are mostly slower. Tougher and more powerful, but slower.

>>47677643
It's about love and learning that sometimes what you're willing to become to hang onto it is exactly what will destroy it. Plus some really kick ass fight scenes.

I really hope there's a "Rage = Power" perk in the Jump.
>>
>>47677561
Normal Types don't really have a weakness to anything except Fighting. They're very baseline. That's why they're called Normal.

I'm a little stumped on the Sailor Moon Jump, so I guess I'm asking for what other Jumpers who went through it did.

Honestly speaking, it kinda seems a little too narrow to me, but I don't really want to set my mind in stone until I have an idea of what others accomplished in it.
>>
>>47677643
Essentially what this >>47677733
Anon said in addition to a nice art style and design.

A rather bloody series for such a cutesy design at times. Reminds me of Bones at points with its style when it comes to the non-human characters.

And yes there will be a rage equals power perk.
>>
>>47677643
Oh I see. You were thinking that I meant the reward as a negative thing. No, it was meant to be a reward, granting your Body Mod body a slight upgrade. More in the way of having your Body Mod adhere to the five dot system, with the ranks bought all those years ago being upgraded through purchases made in the Gauntlet. I may have just been too vague in my terminology.
However the negative response to it has left me feeling that I may have to leave it out, meaning I'll have to come up with another reward.

Yeah, gonna have to echo what's been said elsewhere in the thread. Messing with body mod as a reward is a bad call. There's plenty of other things you can do as a reward for running an Exalt gauntlet.

>>

Actually you need abilities called Charms to do that with Essence; by itself it's simply an incredibly powerful form of spiritual energy. A Heroic Mortal does /not/ have access to the kind of charms that let you achieve automatic successes and wipe out groups of enemies.

206. Ace Combat
Location: Yuktobania
Age: 29, Origin: Soldier
Perks: Basic Flight Training, Missile Surplus, Comm Chatter, Running Circles, Targeting Algorithm (-100), Don't Need A Team (-100), Radar Maestro (-150), Missile Massacre (-300), Demon Lord (-300)
Items: Hangar, Flight Suit, All Direction Multi-purpose Missile (-150)
Drawbacks: Dancing With Angels (+100)

You know what really fucks with radar? Radio wave elementals shaped like dragons. You know what fucks with people? Suddenly becoming a dragon at mach 4. You know what fucks with everything? Omega Weather Control. I mostly use the last one to knock missiles out of the sky.

I am good in the sky. The sky is a happy place for me. I'm reforging my plane into a suit of dragon armor and becoming a missile dragon, and nothing can stop me. Mostly because of FISS 5, but also because I've been to Strike Witches already and dragons don't need to worry about pantsu. I mean, I might wear the pantsu anyway, but I doubt it will do much other than raise morale. The only real problem here, besides the fact that nerds keep trying to name Smaug, is the superweapons. Those fucking hurt, so I have to use illusions to stay safe when those are around. The Yuktobian Dragon squadron will go down as one of the greatest in the world.

If I didn't have all those perks that make people underestimate and not care about me, it could actually happen.

>>47678280
Essence, as >>47678298 said, is very limited unless you have the ability to use it, an innate talent often called Charms is the most common expression of that. Mortal Heroes have a limited access to the Charms needed, Terrestrial level Supernatural Martial Arts, and the system of Sorcery, AKA messing with the fundamental force to get a direct result.
Sorcery has a hefty price tag on it as you have to sacrifice fundamental things like love, hate, or things that motivate you just to gain access to them.
Supernatural Martial Arts are the easiest way to gain access to proper charms but they make a high demand on the users body. Almost all of them take decades to learn.
Mortal Heroes can be awesome by the normal human standards, up to Essence 3 before they explode into a ghost or a god of something minor, like that sword over there... for reasons.

>>4767849
I actually got a good chuckle out of the funny ones and the serious ones are kinda cool. Though I'd avoid the shit out anything even like a Game of Divinity, that shits so addicting that the God of Being Perfect is ignoring Creation for it.
>>
>>47678298
I must be misremembering, but I thought that Essence gave you a minimum of 1 success per dot on a roll, added to your size for mass field battles, and the like even without Charms.
>>
>>47678534
Think of Body Mod as an archetype that that influences particular forms.

Endowment mentions that it has particular manifestations depending on the sex of the body. I would assume that its flexibility, as such, extends to whatever form you're currently in.

Similarly, Shape and Appeal make mention to specific anatomic bits that may not make sense on certain forms. It's not unreasonable to assume, then, that the analogue for those bits on your currently assumed form are similarly buffed.
>>
>>47678565
Ah, all of those are features of being an Exalt, I believe. Mortal Heroes are much less than that, needing to fight the system as it to gain any traction. A Mortal Hero can't use Essence unless he undergoes serious training or gets a very particular affliction from what amounts to leaping into the Warp (40k).

Maybe I could make the reward the ability to Combo, streamlining technique/perk/energy/etc into a more efficient whole.

I took the entire Villain's perk tree and also Discordia Cannon.
Miracle Romance, The Thing About Miniskirts, and Tempus Fugit.
The story is that Sailor Eris was once an actual Sailor Scout/Princess/Whatever, but dove into researching the Negaverse as a means to fight it, went to far, yaddayadda, do not stare too far into the darkness or it will stare back, etc, etc. She is now a villain who wants to bring the others to her side with her new wealth of corruption-based perks, particularly the moon princess, and Sailor Saturn is very interested in preventing this, and also why the fuck are all these villains trying to snap pictures of me in my pantsu. I ONLY WANT PICTURES OF USAGI'S PANTSU. Fuck.

Because of how it's worded, I ruled that Discordia Castle (the source of the Discordia Cannon) follows me into each new jump. So, y'know, there's a bullshit anime castle made of magic crystals orbiting planet Eris in every jump I go to. Which is kindof neat and would be mildly useful if it weren't on the edge of the fucking solar system.
There's probably some crap stored up there that I've forgotten about.

S'bout it?

>>47678535
Whatever voices I heard when I watched it.
So, usually the dub. Even in cases where I've watched both sub and dub, the dub voices usually stick out more in my mind, since I wasn't spending most of every episode reading.
I honestly can't remember many sub voices.
Except for Lucky Star's.
>>
Bokurano Jump when?
>>
>>47678565
Nope. Are you sure you're not thinking of Excellancies? And those are merely "ordinary" success, effectively a quantification of you did X so good, the probability of you succeeding at it is rated at Y. Not "perfect" effects, which only usually happen through Charms and are much more expensive.

>>47678498
>Third Edition

So-Devil Tigers are back, the combat system's been thrown in the trash and high Essence charms are stated out again?

Yes, I am salty. I will never complain about perceived nerfs in Jumpchain, but holy shit I am fuckmad the devs apparently decided to do away with high Essence shenanigans. It's like they didn't think that's what drew me to the setting in the first place. It's like they think I'm not going to write up my own sourcebook for becoming a Devil-Tiger and then playing a neo-Primordial solely out of spite.
>>
>>47678565
Nope. Essence by itself does absolutely nothing. It's just that you use it to fuel charms/spells/artifacts.

Not sure where you're getting those abilities, Exalts don't even get those without spending a whole bunch on excellencies for the successes and specific charms for the extra size... Unless it's a First Edition thing, dunno, never looked at that.
>>
>>47678704
Rule 1?
>>
>>47678669
Brainstorming mostly.
The risk of failing this Gauntlet is insanely high, if treated like an actual obstruction instead of just another chapter of the 'I Won' chronicles, and I feel the reward should be proportional to the amount of crap you go through to get it. And I am considering the other options, as I have stated for the last couple of hours, however I myself have ideas so I toss them out as I have them.

Again though this is completely theoretical until I get Babylon Anon's permission, so don't sweat so much.
>>
>>47678801
Once again, the risk is irrelevant. Even if you fail, you lose nothing. You either gain a incredible reward or continue on having lost nothing in the process. You've constantly ignored this fact while continuing to try and push for more power.
>>
>>47678834
Normal Jumps don't have any risk either, though. At least, none that people actually care about.

I haven't pushed for more power. My ideas are merely from a different perspective, and I understand that you disagree with that perspective. When I asked about the negative response to the upgraded Body Mod the posters gave their reasons and I have tabled the issue as I brainstorm. Your criticism is what is telling me when I'm wrong in something, so thank you for that.

>>47678929
Well the wildlife in 98% of the world is better than the average human, mortal weapons able to deal with said wildlife are in short supply and use a limited resource, there are multiple League of Shadows knockoffs, some of those League of Shadows knockoffs have Exalted/Godly/Spirit/etc backing, the climate in the place you start in can kill you in three out of five locations, Mortal practitioners of Supernatural Martial Arts are often pricks willing to kill you for a slight, etc. It's a very dangerous place where the average Joe lives thirty to thirty-five years, depending with only people with guardians growing to old age on average. As the average Mortal Hero you can be killed by a crowd of people with pitchforks and no training, so yeah.
>>
>>47679016
Again, no. Any jump has some varying level of risk to someone straight out of pokemon, which is what all jumps are ostensibly built for. The fact that you don't find any risk in any jump after jumping for thousands of years is completely irrelevant.

And funnily enough, no, even by your own retarded reasoning, a Gauntlet still has less risk because there is no way to end your chain in one outside of willingly taking a drawback that does so. Even a idiot like yourself acknowledged that jumps have some risk for some jumpers. Of course, since your reasoning is so astoundingly stupid, we don't need to say that and can just tell you your being a gargantuan bellend.

Type the out in my text processor of choice, save to pdf with freeware stuff.

As for how I make them... In the few days I get hit by inspiration between weeks of writer's block. Mostly a flurry of typing.

Preferred style... whatever works for the jump. I like the 100/200/400/600 spread for perk trees. Even through only one of mine uses it.

Text is better for me, I would fuck up imaging. Also, would be hard to fit everything if the layout got too fancy.
>>
>>47679078
>different perspective
Yes, more power. Everyone of your suggestions so far has been something that altered or affected integral parts of jumpchain or had affects across every perk or ability you had. And everyone else has offered things both actually related to the setting as well as much more reasonable for a gauntlet reward.
>>
>>47679082
It's totally relevant, because Jumpchain is the risk-free omnipotence CYOA. So why pretend there's an actual risk involved in losing when you can't lose in a normal Jump?

This sentence is retarded. You're retarded. It doesn't have to be. People play the way they want, and not everyone plays like that.

The fact that you can't separate your opinion from objective facts makes me agree with the guys who don't want you to make the jump, because by that logic you see nothing wrong with proposing wiping your ass with the Shinma, making SWLIHN or waifu or Jump-Chan personally giving you a magic sword that always breaks through all kinds of Perfect Defences as rewards.

Zootopia Jump 1.0.pdf
1 B, 486x500
Well, the Zootopia Jump is finished. In the interest of giving everybody something else to look at, I'll post it now.

Changelog
+ Undiscounted Perks included. (Can't believe I forgot those the first time around.)
+ Some editing and formatting done in the hopes to make it easier to read. (Not something I'm great at, but I tried.)
+ Each location now has a short paragraph about them containing basic information.
+ Amphibians, Reptiles, Simians, and Birds are all now legal choices, thanks to some additional information from the creators about the world at large.
+ All sorts of fluff has been written.
+ Canon Companion has been altered slightly.
+ New Drawbacks: Ewe Can't Keep a Bad Sheep Down & Innocence Lost.

That's pretty much it. It's basically ready to be uploaded, but I'd like some feedback on it in general. Please let me know if there are mistakes that I did not see in my round of editing.

And a lot of them aren't well like. Or are justified through the inclusion of scenarios to impose additional risk/challenges, and their effects are being exaggerated by you.

That's the point of thread critique. To prevent exceptions to that.

203. Zootopia
Race: Rat, Age: 22, Origin: Drop-In
Location: Woodland Warren
Perks: Zoology 101 (-200), Green Energy (-600), Fluffy (-50), You Are Even Cuter Than I Thought You'd Be (-100)

Drawbacks: Power Lock Down (+200)

Updated. There goes the whole "Mystic Detective" thing, but that doesn't mean I can't just be a normal PI. It's not like I don't have years of practice solving mysteries and getting into fights with people bigger than myself. The power-lock training isn't just for stuff like fighting, anyway. I also study shit that I wrote down when I had all the perks. I don't get a lot of it, but I do it.
