How do you kill a being of pure energy?
You analyze their wave signature, produce an anti-wave, and allow it to neutralize the being.
>>47549189
You have to find a way to seal it away, like the shadow in Wheel of Time.
>>47549189
Get it a McDonalds combo.
Bye bye energy.

It's unstoppable.

You transfer all of its energy to an iPhone and then deplete it by downloading and installing 1 app.
>>47549189
Fire the opposite kind of energy at it.
Teleport it to the plane of positive energy
Teleport it to the plane of negative energy

THEN IT ISNT A FUCKING BOX ITS A GOD DAMN CUBE
>>47549189
Depends on how this being exists. If you think about it, a (presumably non-corporeal) being of pure energy would either
a) Have to be constantly replenishing its energy, as energy doesn't just stay together on its own (unless we're talking about stars or something similar) or
b) It has some kind of device that keeps itself together.
In the first case, all you need to do is trap or contain it so it runs itself dry, or distract/tank it for the same reason. In the second, rely on your boss fight instincts and smash the thing that keeps it together.

you hit it with energy. or matter.
"how do i kill a being of matter?"
"try pointy sticks. or blunt sticks. or fire. pretty much just hit it with anything until it stops moving"
turns out same principle still pretty much applies
Harness the energy, convert it into some other kind of energy.
Even if it's just kinetic energy, by making it spin a little motor.
Would that be roughly analogous to stringing a person into a wire?

according to my this handy mass-energy conversion table ( http://labs.minutelabs.io/Mass-Energy-Scale/ ), the amount of energy required to create a new planet (earth sized) would be 5-ish orders of magnitude larger than the energy output of all the stars in the milky way in one second. does this align with whatever happened in that movie ?

>>47553578
that'll probably do it, maybe. how does a race like that exist in the first place? considering the things you just said, it's most likely really really soft sci-fi, right?
depends on the type of energy, but generally id say put it in a vacuum- remove all the air out of its locality and it should dissipate
>>47553680
It's a Don Bluth film, so it's the softest and fluffiest of Sci-fi. More Sci-fantasy really.

>5-ish orders of magnitude larger than the energy output of all the stars in the milky way in one second
You can get around low power by applying it on a long time scale; 10^5 seconds is only a bit more than one day. So by operating for a century, you have at least 10^7 seconds in which to provide the same amount of energy.

>>47553680
IIRC the background lore on Titan AE was that the reason the Drej attacked earth in the first place was because the matter-energy conversion tech that would power the Titan was the same kind of thing that created the Drej in the first place, and seeing this they saw that it could either revitalize them as a species or wipe them out completely.
They chose to think it would to the latter, and were right because of it.

>disliking 3
2 is only playable for the story, I'll admit, but 3 was great.
>>47558604
I admit I'm being picky but I just think there was some things they could have done better. Namely not making Allan just a punching bag and a running gag considering the situation between him and Shion and Kevin.
I mean Allen didn't have to be a manly man or anything but definitely have his place in the sun. because the dude did kill a Gnosis with his goddamn hands how can he not get anything special at all going for him?
>>47559613
THIS.
In the end, Allen's character development was absolutely spectacular, how it was always slowly happening and then finally all came together, but if he was his own playable character in 3, it would have made a lot more sense when he finally mans up in front of Kevin. I think 3 was rather rocky in the beginning, because A Missing Year happened in between 2 and 3, and Shion leaving Vector didn't really make sense at first. I'd say the game got a lot better with Rennes-le-Chateau and after.
The main problem is whatever the hell happened at Monolith between 1 and 2 that screwed everything up in the first place.
Though I can't call 2 a bad game, cause I still loved it. The prologue on Old Miltia I loved, I just felt it did a great job of setting up the whole game's events, and the fact that Sweet Song is the same as the opening theme is something I enjoy. After that 2 was a slog for me until Old Miltia, after which I loved everything that happened.
I thought the game was about to be over after Old Miltia, but then the Omega System popped out. Sergius was almost reciting Nietzsche as he rants about society. Then he's going on about how you can't beat him, then the Testaments show up and one-shot him while telling the supporting actors to exit the stage. The stuff between Jr. and Albedo was great too, and the ending is one of the greatest hooks I've encountered.
I wish what was originally planned had happened, but I'm still alright with what 2 and 3 turned out to be.tfw they'll never finish the whole story that was planned, including a Xenogears remake
>>47559870
Jesus christ my dick would fucking explode if they said they were remaking Xenogears

It was less matter energy conversion, more transmutation. They used a freakishly dense asteroid field made of mostly ice as raw materials.
They just consumed the Dredge as energy to fuel the transmutation process.
