I like this lich but I'd be at odds with him unless he has a good reason for saying I can't be immortal skeleman. What's the truth of the ritual?

The Lich actually became the God of Death and was very explicitly LN and possibly the strongest God in existence if he wasn't tying up all his power with Reaper Angels keeping the reincarnation cycle from clogging up and causing the dead to rise and kill everyone.
I was thinking something along the lines of you have to truly fall in love with someone, and then kill them and put their heart into your body to blaspheme nature so thoroughly while reinforcing your own soul to withstand being cast aside by the Great Cycle. But it doesn't actually matter, he kills everyone that gets close to establishing enough necromantic theory to figure it out.
