So /TG/, this past week I found out a buddy of mine was getting rid of all his warhammer stuff, and I decided to go see what all he had. Fairly new to the game, I didn't really know what to expect, and I ended up getting his tau army. Will post pictures of the models shortly, but I need up paying 500 for all that's pictures. Did I do good?

You bought into a dying game and didn't get a particularly good deal. Its just the selling price p much . maybe overpaid a lil

That wasn't a terrible deal since he was buying from a friend and not some rando on eBay
Also 40k isn't dying any more than it has been for the past 20 years
Most of those rule books are out of date.
Most of those models are not VERY good, as rules wise goes.
If you wanted to play Tau, I guess you are is an okay place to do that with the start you have now.
Was it only the one carry case? (that is a good carry case, my personal favorite that GW has done.
500 what? £? $? Euros?
500 American. It is two cases, one for transports and one for individual models. I also have an 75% complete grey knight army ( missing transports and HQ). In total, it's about 170 models that are all fully painted.

Painted models are usually considered less valuable than unpainted models, ESPECIALLY if they did not trim the mold lines

Hey, piranhas are great

Yeah, but I suck at painting. Like thin your paints level skills. So that probably was the biggest selling point due to the fact that they have to be painted to play at the shop here where I live. Also, if I recall correctly, they were professionally painted by a local guy. So maybe they are trimmed?
