Aside from these rules here, no. He had a falling out with his girlfriend (or so the story goes) and kinda stopped posting. Funny situation, actually, only reason we know about it is because his girlfriend was posting on /co/ using his namecode. Someone else is bound to have the screencap of the posts.

Why would she care if you don't want her to dress up as some disney character? Unless she is also autistic that is.

Fellow anons, I am working on a cyoa revolving around energy and need ideas for the following sources:
Solar
Social (being around others energizes you)
Momentum (any force that acts upon you, from a base ball hitting you falling down the stairs energizes you)

Any Ideas?

I'll concede that your interpretation is no less valid than mine and admittedly, it does make a bit more sense in the context of the cyoa.

However, it strikes me as a great deal of trouble to go through. Unless you have a massive hard on for shapeshifting which there's certainly nothing wrong with, of course you're wasting 2 minor spells and one major spell for very little reward.
Take into account, of course, that should the mimic get got, you die as well, and that should someone stumble across/find your body, there's little chance a mimic psyche can plan a proper escape, and all it really takes is a simple glass jar to get you.

Furthermore, judging by later updates, the author intended for spellcraft to be tied to your body rather than your consciousness. You'd be nothing more than a basic mimic while swapped.

Thank you, anon, it's much appreciated.

Elf Slave, Wat Do. Save her from the horsecocks, so I can do all the raping myself. I don't want her all stretched out. Make her my pocket healer, fuck her to sleep every night and wake her up with my cock every day. Aside from that, I'll have fun fantasy adventures, and then maybe I'll return or maybe I won't.
>>
>>47341318
If you speak of the Large Drones, they're just about the size of a car. I'm looking for Mobile Suits or Armored Core, not VOTOMS or ED-209.
In the other hand, maybe I should just buy a frigate or the INS ship and call it a mech (or simply consider that in this multiuniverse mechs are useless and silly idea and forget it).

By the way, going through the items now I noticed the lack of camping gear. I mean, even Harry Potter had those neat tents!

The author said that swapped forms were sympathetic in respect to force, not injury. So if your mimic body got cut in half, the same force would be applied to the fog mimic - just ruffling it a bit and letting you swap back into it alive.
I solved that particular weakness by taking the Private Study (a good power otherwise) and just leaving the mimic at home while I went out.
Also, the two editions are different in lots of subtle ways. For example, spells were actually tied to your mind in the original version.

Relative to everything else on the equipment chart, it would be wildly expensive, especially considering how much the personal ships go for. Then consider how much the mecha crowd would cry for futher customization of mechs and add-ons when he finally caves and adds one definitive option. Just be creative, purchase a combination of the above listings, and have some engineering knowledge.

Felt like there were a lot of points available in this adventure until I realised that a lot of the ship upgrades were locked by vessel tier and realized I wanted to buy up from my Luxury vessel into a Frigate. Still, definitely a lot of options at hand. Kind of interesting that the different backgrounds were so similar, mechanically speaking. I was thinking that the Denizen bonus was pretty underwhelming until I went back and looked at the point values of the other backgrounds. They're all worth *25-30 which is how many I got out of the Denizen bonus and there's room to get more.

Built my ship around self-sufficiency mostly, figuring that we'd spend a lot of time there Firefly-ing around the dying universe and having adventures. It was a toss-up between Cyclic Chambers and a Fusion Engine + Fuel Harvester for my power source. The cyclic powers in general are definitely game-breaking and having an infinite, if low-power, power source is very useful.

Valid point and expressed a fear of mine perfectly (the part about the customization requests). Given the nature of the CYOA I might as well say my character came from Star Dust or Power Armor CYOA worlds.

Man I hope the author at least posts what he had planned out for the investigations. It's not like the mess had much to do with the author himself or the content of the adventure. Mostly it was about the nature of heroic fantasy and the author's admitted failure in that regard. That's a very fixable situation but I can understand the author having the wind taken out of him pretty harshly.

Still, I'm looking forward to it and I know a few other people who are as well.

Whenever Highlander awakes from his slumber, I have a question: have you had to cut out any builds for being too similar, or another reason?
>>
>>47343495
I didn't make it, but I don't see the problem. Anything that comes to mind is fair game for a cyoa. Why you think that's out of bounds is anybody's guess.
>>
>>47343824
Besides, it's not really starting anything with that person; all that shit is already done. Now we just get to laugh at it, as part of history.
>>
>>47340557
Obviously I have to either choose little girl or elf slave. Of course if I go the elf route and then save her it makes one wonder "where's the punishment" since that would play out almost exactly like one of her builds, but I never really cared anyway.

So on one I get to be a 10/10 chick with an even hotter elf partner, but I have to risk getting myself horsefucked saving her, then I have to deal with all the inherent downsides of a fantasy world. In the end I'm not sure if I would want to stay or go back, depends on the world, but it's nice to have the option.

If I take "the little girl" I get everything easy. Obviously I'd stay in the little girl world. I assume I still grow up normally, I don't want to be the LITTLE girl forever. Downside is no guaranteed 10/10 body and no possibility of magic.
>>
>>47343846
I dunno, it just seems kind of weird obsessed to me. I thought it was a neat idea for a CYOA too but I lost interest once I realized it was some sort of weird revenge fantasy against one person. Plus, as an adventure in general, I would've found it more enjoyable if it'd been more than "Pick a band end".

The setup was good. Just a bit wasted on being a pretty one-dimensional thing.
>>
>>47344014
To each their own. To me, it's good for a laugh, which is more than enough justification for a CYOA. That and it's nothing personal; having someone as a fuckslave just makes me hard.

Maybe we can find the cure to cancer from buying it from an alien? Also I'd be rich and famous for inventing FTL.

As for the elf slave thing, still if I'm in a fantasy world I'd like to enjoy the hot elf, and she might just be bitchy in general. So I think I'd just drop her off at the nearest elf village and then go on my way. Also even if all of it was better, getting into space would be much better for all of humanity. For sociol energy I think the best direction to go would be luck manipulation, something that allows for the achievement of more munde goals, or go full on mind control psychic dodads.

Solar is easy if you're feeling lazy, just copy and paste superman or Apollo (who's basically gay superman) the alternative would be plasma/radtion powers

And for the other one you could always go the route of the kinetic brick

Pt 1/2 Pretty cliche picks, but hey. I had fun. Been a while since I last messed with this one. Thanks for posting it again.
Area increase 5 [9]
Population Increase 2 [4]
Protection [3]
Attitude Adjustment [1] - Compassionate peoples
Culture and Customs [2] - heavy emphasis on music, art, science, and technology. There is no hatred of other races or ethnicity.
Pretty population [2]
population longevity [3] - resistant to disease and illnesses. Eternal youth.
Metahuman population [3] and Magical upgrade 5 [10] - everyone possesses the ability to manipulate reality through magic. They all hold the same potential for the craft. While they start off weak, there is no limit to their growth. This reality bending can be used for anything. They will be able to sculpt the world around them in any way they wish. With enough time spent developing their craft, mountains can rise and fall without so much as a glance at the landscape. Islands can raise from the oceans, rivers and canyons appearing instantly. The creation of their own, personal, worlds is also possible with enough time. So long as the lives of the people are not harmed, all is well. If they would be harmed, either directly or indirectly, the magic fails.

pt 2/2
Spirits [2] - spirits wander the lands searching for authors, artists, musicians, or anyone else searching to hone their craft. The spirits act as a muse for these individuals and help further advance their skills. Spirits of nature exist as well. Magic gathers in the land itself, imbuing it with consciousness. These manifestations of nature are able to freely move, interact, and communicate with the world around them. They are able to improve their magic with time and have the same limitless potential all inhabitants of this planet share.
Afterlife [3] - Those who choose to move on from the confines of their current life will be allowed to rest in a paradise custom made for them. If they ever wish to return, they will be offered the option of reincarnation. All of their memories and magical abilities are reset. They receive a mark on their spirit after each successful reincarnation. These marks may be exchanged for more influence over the construction of their post-life resting oasis.
Theme [4] - So long as an individual gives it their best, anything is possible. Some possibilities may take longer than others but if they continue to believe and give it their all it will eventually occur. Shounen tier friendship bullshit, only applied to everything.
Immortality [2]
Spirit Walk [3]
Tongues [1]
Peak condition [2]

Start with the most raw "Dump X energy into you/the environment" powers
>Solar: Flare
Spend energy, receive light. Anywhere from nightlight to permanent blindness (for everyone else), depending on how much energy you use.
>Social: Party Time
You can turn any group of people onto a wild, extroverted, fun-loving crowd. The amount of energy required increases the more people you have to affect and how far from partying they are: anything beyond a bored train car would be a net loss.
>Kinetic Energy: Juggernaut
You can infuse yourself and other things with stored acceleration, making them go faster. This is roughly 1/10 as efficient as storing energy, but let's you have super speed, super strength, and super... throwing, but none of the secondary powers like durability (beyond that granted by the source), reflexes, or accuracy.

And then you can move on to the slightly more conceptual things, like Solar being good with plants, Social being able to influence social trends and specific relationships, and Kinetic having a knack for motion - including dancing and fighting.

Damn. If I go with to the stars and beyond! can I get everyone to think that society at large to think women are inferior in someway ? Or at least get people to think she tried to steal credit for 'my' invention? I mean, honestly I'm looking for immortalized shame here, not a quick shaming.
>>
>>47346860

Okay If I post one more WIP after this I legitimately want one of you guys to kidney punch me.

After posting the companions page last time I got a lot of (rightful) complaints about clashing art styles, shity resolution, shitty background, and some other stuff that's kinda hard to sum up in a short post.

I've gone through and redone a shit ton of the art and for once in my life am happy with how they look (though that could be the alcohol talking), and I plan on splitting this image into to two once I finish writing and adding decent background art so I don't have to fight the upload limit and compress it.

Anyways I wanna make extra super sure that it doesn't look like shit so here it is.

Please feel free to distribute headpats/throatpunches/criticism at your own discretion.

The way I see it, To The Stars and Elf Slave are the most damaging to her. She can be a maid for 6 months and get spanked a few times. It'll be humiliating, but I figure she'd get over it. Being an epitome-of-manhood lumberjack seems like it'd be much more upsetting to her, but again she'd probably eventually get over it.

On the other-hand, To The Stars will set mankind permanently on a different path, and a man will be given credit for that pretty much forever. So that could continually piss her off all the way up in heaven for who knows how long. Elf Slave is temporary, more like Little Girl and Lumberjack. But it'd be way more traumatizing. An immortal misandryst angel that's obsessed with purity might stew over that for millenia, or even be permanently emotionally scarred.

It has high potential long term damage. But yeah, it's at the discretion of the punisher. Stars is good because it actually does something good for humanity as a whole while also tormenting Angel for many years to come. But if you want to be a musclewizard or the little girl, this could be your only chance.

My problem with To the Stars is that I don't want to wrong her, like, in a societal sense. I don't mind wronging her personally, but stealing the credit doesn't sit right with me.

Like, if she's hurt by the memories of rape and use, that actually happened. But if she's hurt by my fame? I didn't actually achieve anything, she did it. In a way, that's some comfort to her.

Looks good. Did have a hard time loading so making it two files is appreciated. Maybe make a joke about Dax being reincarnated (startrek ref). I assume each of the school specific companions correlates with one of the schools specialties (like at Ej Har one companion is a blood mage, another a necromancer, another an assassin, and another a dark arts user).

Also don't know if you have made any changes to the first pages yet but I wanted to mention that I found the course rules a tad confusing. We get ten classes but only one of them from the school specialties (advise this be in huge font on the academy course page). But it also states that we can take a course up to three times to master it. So can we take our special class three times? I read it to be yes you can but it could be clarified. Also given the exclusivity of the academy special courses I think most builds will take their exclusive class three times even with an otherwise generalist build. Becoming a master in a rare field (the others are more easily improved in the field relatively speaking) is too good to pass up. Don't know if this is a concern but it is something to keep in mind.

The Little Girl would've been my pick if I were a trap.

Elf Slave is great, too. Just hanging out with Angel, having her wear a magical collar that makes her painfully aroused when she tries to run away, forcing her to beg me, a MAN, to put his MAN PENIS inside her.
The risk of her being raped by centaurs is a bit too great.

Yeah, reading through the threads I realized you can impregnate her, and you won't have to be a father.
Dammit anon, I have to swap back to Elf Slave.
Be a 10/10 hot, manly, masculine, muscular man, fucking/raping the shit out of Angel, conditioning her to love it, getting her addicted to manly juiced.
Definitely getting a harem and changing her collar so, when she has lesbian thoughts, she gets uncontrollable aroused for dick. She'll have to sit in the corner, watching her beautiful husband dicking the shit out of her girl friends, unable to participate because she can't not think of girl parts, which would trigger her collar.

Please, dear Lailah, can we please extend my time so she'll stay with me until I die?
Think about how much being a grand-grand-grand-....-grand-mother would hurt her? Think about all those babies she'll have with a MAN, about all that MAN juice she's had inside her.
Think about breaking her mind for good, having her realize girls aren't for fucking, they are for seducing and giving to your husband, and watching him fuck them.

I have to go return some video tapes now.

12 Arcana

Pacifist (13 Arcana)
Arcane Encryption (12 Arcana)

Genesis (7 Arcana)

Magna Anima (5 Arcana)
Restoration (3 Arcana)

Whisper Charm (2 Arcana)
(With permanency)
Homeward (1 Arcana)
Wards (0 Arcana)

It's not infallible, but then again, very few things are. I think it reaches a decent balance risk - reward-wise.

My goal here is to simply outlive everyone. With that purpose in mind, my first week is going to be the most vulnerable. Wards+Homeward is hopefully going to be enough. Pacifist is a bit of a double edged sword in the early stages as, on the one hand, if I'm found by chance, people might decide I'm no threat and, as such, either leave me be or save me for later; and, on the other hand, if someone who's actively being a dick finds me, I'm pretty much screwed.

Said first week is going to be spent finding a handful of loyal allies/minions and amassing a size-able amount of dosh, both of which Whisper Charm and Restoration should be able to provide. Once this is done, I'll fly halfway around the world to set a Homeward beacon.
By now, my first floating island should be coming into existence, inconspicuously, on ground level, in some remote area or other.

My next 40-80 years are going to be spent deep underground, my allies being my only true means of interacting with the world. Using Restoration, I'll amass a massive fortune, most of which will be spent on life extension research.
Any attack on my location will be swiftly averted by the use of Wards+Homeward, followed by a brief period of vulnerability.

Again, the purpose here is to simply outlive everyone for that sweet, sweet immortality. I think it's perfectly achievable.

> The author said that swapped forms were sympathetic in respect to force, not injury. So if your mimic body got cut in half, the same force would be applied to the fog mimic

Energy attacks kinda fuck you, though, in that case. Heat, electricity, etc.
Depending on how much of itself the ghostform can stand losing, you could get got pretty quickly.

> just ruffling it a bit and letting you swap back into it alive.

Can't really swap back unless you also take dispel. Also, even if you do survive, you could get stuck in ghostform for up to a month which is a bit shit.

>I solved that particular weakness by taking the Private Study (a good power otherwise) and just leaving the mimic at home while I went out.

I'm curious, anon, what were your other spells for this build?

>For example, spells were actually tied to your mind in the original version.

Is this WoG?

>>47349198
..continued:

Now, by the time this is achieved, it's a good bet overpopulation is going to be even more of an issue than it is now. The ability to simply create new real estate and farmable land out of thin air is going to be unbelievably sought after.

The ability to cure any ailment is certainly no slouch when it comes to amassing fortune and influence, but I feel Genesis is going to be my bread and butter here.

At this point, my path is more or less clear. Restoration and Genesis, aided by Whisper Charm and the sizeable levels of healthy paranoia I've acquired over the decades are going to make amassing ridiculous levels of influence trivial.

I shall usher in a new age of peace and progress. Humanity will touch the stars with me as its supreme god-emperor
I realize this is really, rather old and the author's moved on for a while now, but if there's interest I would be more than happy to provide some feedback on the cyoa itself.

>Mages in Eclan are a bunch of terrible jerks who refuse to help their country despite it losing a war because 'muh morals'.
What a bunch of assholes. I think I know exactly what I'm going to do post-war. Can you say "Start a Royal Mage College with better funding to attract all the young students who AREN'T completely selfish sociopaths and actually care what happens to their friends, family, and the nation they inhabit"? Because that's exactly what's going to happen. Hopefully it ends up being popular enough to completely undercut the Mage's Guild until the entire organization dissolves.
>>
>>47350594
It's mostly a title, but being a Noble is required for certain rewards. Independent characters cannot be a Noble.
>>
>>47350664
I can see as to why they adopt that stance though, and it's stated that you could do whatever you need to do on your own time. They're just not under the palm of the crown.
>>
>>47350664
Do you honestly blame an independent organization of mages for wanting to stay neutral in wars between kingdoms.

The mages of Eclan might not be at your beck and call but I assume the same applies to the mages of Verend.
>>
>>47350712
Their stance is actively sabotaging the country. And yes, I can do what I want to in my limited free time. Limited free time. That doesn't make it acceptable that they completely undermine how mages can help their country into these extremely limited time windows while they selfishly work for their own ends the majority of the time.

>>47350716
Yes I can, because the guild in Eclan is made up of Eclan citizens. Citizens who refuse to help their country. This makes them horrible people.

A group like this shouldn't be monopolizing mages and magical education.

I don't remember the power level of mages in that cyoa, but if mages can create nukes and shit I would definitely disallow them from going to war - no matter which side they'd fight for

>I SHOULD MONOPOLIZE MAGES AS LVING MAGICAL ARTILLERY FOR MY BLOODY WAR

Meh, at least you'll be upsetting mages across the world so it's not like they'd tolerate your shit for long.
>>
>>47350737
>Their stance is actively sabotaging the country.
Sure, you can argue that, but it can also be argued it isn't their job. That it makes the crown look weak and desperate to press for the aid of an otherwise peaceful group of savants.
>"It is typically our responsibility as the royal family to tend to these matters though, either ourselves or through retainers."
Who's to say at the end of the day how many of them are actually helping or not? Probably less than more but those that care will and have probably helped. Under your pretense everyone that isn't helping should be shackled and forced to fight. You sounds like Verendian scum.
>>

>>47346723
Solar sounds good, Social sounds good, and Kinetic sounds good. I'll implement those.
>>
>>47350900
>An independent organization of citizens that refuses to help the country in its time of need.
This is more accurate to the situation. It's completely selfish of them. And no, I don't plan to monopolize mages. I'm not a tyrant, and with my weird situation I doubt I'll end up being the one chosen as successor so I'll probably never wield authority as Queen, so no, I don't have any plans to impose laws on them. Rather, I'll try my best to convince my father and siblings to help me set up a mage college that isn't made up of radical neutrals. It will be through hard work and dedication that my organization hopefully becomes more popular. It's competition, not monopolization.

>>47350904
It can be argued that a citizen has a duty to help their nation. And I don't see how the crown is weak if people in their country are involved in the war effort. That's a ridiculous stance.

>Those that care will have probably helped.
Barely. Their free time is extremely limited by the organization. They specifically act in a way that prevents their members from offering any significant help.

And who said anything about force? Taking a moral stance isn't taking a stance of control. That I think they're horrible people for actively refusing to help doesn't mean that I intend to make it so they HAVE to help. Notice how I've pointed out that I want to found my own mage's organization, not actually take legal steps against theirs.

There is something wrong when all the magic users in the kingdom are controlled by a group that refuses to help in a war that'll destroy the kingdom.

No, not really.
>"Though, mages do get somewhat frequent breaks incase you want to go on an enchanting spree to help outfit our soldiers or go on the occasional adventure or fight in battles in your free time."
At face value no one can make them fight but they may do whatever on their own time. Pretty much everything else you said is addressed by that. I know you'll do whatever so I'll just stop replying now.
>>
>>47351132
The text then goes on to say:
>A mage's job is primarily boring research.
The implication being that the majority of their time is dedicated to the organization. They're monopolizing all the magical education to their own ends.

At face value, the organization saps up most of the time of its members, giving them limited free time where they can do as they will. Considering what's going on in the country, deciding that it's more important that you force your members into serving you rather than being able to dedicate themselves to helping the war if that's what they wish is very shortsighted and selfish.

I've noticed that you seem a bit bothered by what I'm saying though, so I have to wonder why? Is there something inherently offensive about wanting to start my own magical college because of how unhelpful this one is?
>>
>>47351188
Not him but I think it is unwise to try and draw members away from an established organization that spans all kingdoms while you're also in the middle of a war.

Last thing you want is for the leaders of the Mages Guild (or whatever it's called) to get a vested interest in the annexation of your kingdom.
>>
>>47351274
>while you're also in the middle of a war
I agree. That's why I'm not doing this until the war is over. I'm not going to have the free time to set something like this up while I'm busy fighting off Verend, anyway. This whole thing is just what I plan to do once we win.
>>
>>47351188
>because of how unhelpful this one is?
what happens when every other Kingdom does like you, and the next war is filled with mages, too?
Think of all the destruction you will be single-handedly responsible for.
>>
>>47351320
Well anon, the CYOA goes outs of its way to point out that mages are falling out of favor for pure military applications because of how taxing big magic is. A wizard trying to cook off big spells runs out of energy extremely quickly and becomes a sitting duck. So I don't think this a nuke scenario at all.
>>
>>47350664
>>47350951
>>47351188

New guy here.

The way I see it, the mages guild intend to remain neutral because, as other anons pointed out, they are a multinational organization and taking sides would tarnish their reputation worldwide, perhaps literally fatally in the more oppressive regimes.

They don't seem to have a monopoly on magic as a whole, you can get trained in magic without joining them, but they do seem to have the best educational resources and thus would hoard the best mages.

It is your story, though, and if you want to poach the local chapter of the Mages guild because they wouldn't support in you war, that is a reasonable and historically-evident response to the situation (look at Emperor Barbarossa and his anti-pope)

It might not be the best thing to do, but it would make for a great story nontheless.
>>
>>47350664
>Not just getting the Reaper Witches to join your side of the war instead.
>>
>>47351350
So you want to take a bunch of guys, who aren't fit for combat and who just want to learn, and force them to go die in your war?
Gee, I can't believe anyone wouldn't want to do that!
>>
>>47349222
But how much of that actually destroys a gas of indeterminite composition? fire -> hot mist, ice -> maaaybe liquid, chemicals/electricity-> whothefuckknows. The only real weaknesses I can see are raw antimatter to the face, black holes, and other things you only saw in Physics class like heating so much the protons and neutrons dissociate into plasma - Ghost form wasn't balanced for sustained use. Also, I planned to avoid getting into fights, and just use immortality to live comfy forever and maybe explore a bit.

Word of God said that if one body dies, you swap back before the death 'sticks'. I think this was intended to prevent killing the swappee in your body to keep theirs (using any Form to avoid dying), but it makes turning into something immune to guns, swapping with another wizard and shooting yourself in the head a viable assassination tactic. And, you know, astral projection lite.
Besides, getting stuck in Ghostform for a bit is less shitty than dying.

I took spell storing (and were there some spell duplicators?) specifically to deal with these sort of problems, but the rest of my build was just whatever spells looked like they'd support the core theme. Also, I'm arguing solely based off memory - I haven't even looked at the PDF as my phone doesn't have in-browser viewing. If I forget a spell's name, that's why.

Yeah, a lot of the details like the lifespan of various monsters and the mechanics of bodyswap and Ghostform were replies to in thread, but never put the CYOA. Pretty sure he made a lot of the changes between the two versions specifically to prevent my drawbackless immortality combo.
>>
>>47351419
I think it'd be even sillier to try and get the semi-religious organization of soul killers to join a war

>>47351356
We don't really know the context under which you can learn magic. As far as we know, you could just be getting a tutor from the Mage's Guild

>>47351426
Why do you think violence is the only way to help a war? Do you not know about healing, transportation, construction, information, etc? I can go on. There are a billion ways in which magic can help a war that doesn't involve any killing at all.
>>
>>47351426
Also what's with this shit about 'force'? I've said about five times that there wouldn't be any force involved, yet you keep harping on it.
>>
Did that tank girl CYOA ever get put up? Was here a week or two ago.
>>
Eclan has sole access the crystals. Whether it's technology, magic or alchemy if you're not centering your improvements around those crystals, you're an idiot.
>>
>>47351440
>context

Well, you're right, all it says is that our mentor/BFF does most of the training. Where the author leaves gaps, though, is where players start filling in, and if you feel it makes a better story if the Mage's guild selfishly hoards the magic, then go right ahead and make a build based on it.
>>
>>47351483
I think it's pretty well implied since other than enchantment you can only learn magic from people who aren't your siblings (those classes are all the black ones), and how the only job that involves non-enchantment magic at all forces you to join this guild. There are gaps, but I feel like you're overstating how much of this is my assumptions.
>>
>>47351504
Zoey can teach you magic even though she is a fulltime nanny. She was obviously trained at some point but there is no implication of her still being attached to "the Mages guild".
>>
>>47351504
All of it is assumptions. Maybe reasonable assumptions but please admit you're just making shit up.

We all use our own assumptions when making decisions and posting builds for CYOAs. There's no way not to, and that's fine. But especially in an adventure like Royal Revival that does a great job at implying a world far larger than is described in its pages there's so much stuff we just cannot know. So we think about the context of the world we imagine it to be. Where it crosses a line is when you take your guesses, however well supported by the text, and start moralizing about it and saying it's the only possible interpretation. You simply do not know that's the case.
>>
>>47351464
>you
There are more than two guys who disagree with your idea.
>>
>>47351504
Becoming a mage is just the occupation of "join mage's guild & study / research new magic." It is the only occupation centered on magic, but that doesn't mean you can't be a crystal knight & throw fireballs around. The tutor you get for magic is, in all likely hood, a mage's guild scholar. That's because your tutor, no matter the class, is at/near the top in their field. The most knowledgeable mages are not the ones that spend their time fighting, but the ones that devote it to research.

>>47351541
Zoey is the rare exception of being more preferable than any other tutor alternatives. She is not affiliated with the mage's guild.
>>
>>47351478
That's why I also took Crystal Mastery.

>>47351541
Zoey is some kind of wonderteacher. She's like a singularity of education. This girl can teach you how to do everything your siblings can do, even the stuff that's explicitly called out as being rare, difficult, or a fluke of their personality.

>>47351549
Not all of it, as pointed out, black classes are not taught by your siblings and the guild is the only job involving magic.

>>47351555
English doesn't have a proper second person plural.

>>47351576
You can be a crystal knight and throw fireballs around because you were educated by a mage's guild scholar. That doesn't mean that this group isn't monopolizing magical education, just that as someone rich and important you can hire a teacher from there to use their free time.
>>
Just pointing out that alchemy is the superior form of magic.
>>
>>47351621
Alchemy takes a ton of time and money for the same effect as magic.
>>
>>47351504

So what? maybe our siblings each have comprehensive magical educations, and simply don't specialize except for the enchantress. Maybe we learn our magic from a giant one-eyed newt in the basement. Who knows?

That's fine, that's the foundation of discussion and everything. For that conversation line, I just wanted to stress again that my plans don't involve forcing anyone to fight or into anything really. My goal is to offer a college that can train mages for military and crown use, not ONLY for that. It's more about offering more freedom and choice in regards to role and career, instead of it being a case of 'you MUST spend all your time researching for us'.

I never will understand the problem everyone has with Angel. There are weirder magical realms than hers around.

Anyway, Little Girl. Angel gets to be a maid to a little girls' party for a few months, and as long as she's good no men will be involved so that's fine. Then afterwards I'll stay on and grow up in this nicer world and eventually maybe find a big strong boyfriend...

>My goal is to offer a college that can train mages for military and crown use, not ONLY for that
and I repeat my original point: That's an act of war.
Based on what you say (I can't be bothered to read a 9 page cyoa just to argue), the only mage association is a multi-kingdommed one that focuses on learning and keeps neutral.
If I were the King of a Kingdom, and suddenly my neighbor starts a privately funded mage association that only allows those of his kingdom to study in, and "encourages" them to fight in wars on your side, I'd be scared, and forced to start my own mage association.

You're beginning the Cold War.
>>
>>47351883
Then I have to say, I wonder how Zang gets along, since he explicitly leads a force of Fire Mages in defense of his country. I don't have the suitor page open, but his country seems to train mages for military use. Clearly if his country is extant, it isn't seen as much of a threat as you claim.

I'll also remind you that mages are not as powerful as you think here, as pointed out in the CYOA, where it says typical wizardry is no longer popular because they can only use a few big spells before they run out. It's not a matter of inventing ICBMs.
>>

Well, say what you will about nuclear weapons but we as a species have one data point correlating MAD and a distinct uptick in world peace. Yeah, the Cold War could've gone hot but it very distinctly didn't. The situation is far too complicated to put all the credit on MAD but I'd say it's worth a thought.

To be honest though, I don't see the socio-political factors that kept the Cold War cold existing in a pseudo-medieval land.

If fictional reality engine is free, what the hell do I need all the other options for? Why would I blow 30 credits to explore the universe where I may or may not actually find hospitable planets or sentient life I can actually communicate with, when I could just as easily go to star wars, star trek or any other sci-fi space opera where I KNOW there's hospitable worlds and bangable aliens for 0 credits?

I'll take the boat, if only because it can be larger than the car, and thus have a larger entry for transporting larger objects if need be. It can fly anyways, so I'll just declare is has a futuristic hover-drive. (If I had the actual limitations of aircraft aerodynamics for flight mode I'm better off with the car and would pick that instead)

Systems:
Return function, shields Chameleon Circuit, Adaptive Environmental system, AI (30)

Best not to skimp on defensive options unless I want to inevitably get stranded somewhere. I assume the AI can drive the vehicle for me and make the return function work better.

Interior
Storage space,Deluxe Personal Quarters, Deluxe Passenger Quarters, Mess Hall, Medbay, (Also if I still get the basic personal quarters for free in ADDITION to the deluxe to use as a third guest room, that too.)

Now I've got rent-free housing and free medical care.
