The current campaign I'm in had a minor boss battle against a Jampire a while back. Vampire with 80's metal hair, a red leather longcoat, no shirt, and a big old crystal guitar. As to the topic it kind of depends on the setting. For fantasy I would stick to the character that cast spells or hypnotizes with music, unless you want your entire world to be music oriented, because that would give you much more posibilities. For more modern/futuristic setting you could make some famous musician that is so popular that he basicly controls a large part of the population.
