Well, the Surfers are almost guaranteed - they would have to have an absolutely disastrous loss to fall out of the running. Not impossible, given that they're primarily an AV7 team so injuries could pile up alongside TDs allowed and ruin their tiebreaker, but extremely unlikely.
The Lepers have climbed up to their number 2 spot steadily, but unfortunately a score of 8 is within striking range of 5 other teams. Thankfully the only team below them with a threatening tiebreaker, the Rebels, are out of the running - if they can pull out a tie at minimum, they will make it in.
Which brings us to the team whose performance will probably decide everything. Just Elf My League Up's match against the Lepers could throw the whole standings into disarray. If the Elves win, their tiebreaker standing will likely still be poor - which give both Hither Slither and Amorican Psycho good odds to make it in if they win with a strong match.
Of the two, Hither Slither has the best chances due to being a more punchy team and more likely to score casualties on top of TDs.
Overall, I'd say Surfers are in, and I think the Lepers will pull through. If they don't, I think Hither Slither could probably cause enough damage in a winning match to pull ahead.

Not the same guy, but for Vets, the Knife-Ears and Doomstar are probably guaranteed playoff spots due to the way matchups are going to pan out. League leader is probably a tossup between both of them also - the Knife Ears have one more point, but Doomstar has an amazing differential and trails by only one point.
It's possible though that if things align right Underwarudo or the Rockets could snipe the shield - but only the one that wins their match. If one of them wins, then that's likely a guaranteed playoff berth too, but a tie could really make the race anyone's game.
Separation between many teams is just a matter of 1 or 2 points so it's very difficult to call things right now, and most of round 5 has yet to be played. Things are more set in stone for Rookies since there's only two spots and pretty clear separation both in raw points and differentials.

I'd say the real killer for Khemri is that Skeletons and Thro-Ras are AV7, and that they lack Block all around; which gives them a lot of issues playing a bash-heavy game. They end up relying on player removal because it's the only way to ensure you don't end up outnumbered yourself.
Dwarves have the same speed weakness but their "vulnerable" players are still AV8 and they have generous access to Block, which makes them a very solid team.

well, it was impossible to start the team with that many, plus the tv bloat was enormous as you added them. so they were strong but not especially op, and bonehead is still bonehead
handicaps (old inducements system) in lrb4 were absolutely terrifying, especially combined with aging. so Virus, for example was basically game breaking for developed teams.
the fouling system always gets a lot of debate. many people still think it was much better. personally i don't think so, not least because when combined with the get the ref kick off event it was pretty much a win condition for the team that got it

Undead require you to stick behind your zombie meat-wall and slowly grind up - never expose the ghouls to danger, because players know they are the weak link in the team and one good foul away from being gone. Just because you have MA6 and MA7 doesn't mean you should exercise it all the time.

On offence, you need to lean more heavily on the Wights, rather than lead in with the ghouls.
A player that gets sent behind the enemy LoS to pressure a ball carrier should be an expendable one with good armour if at all possible - a Wight, not a Ghoul (and on other teams, blitzers rather than anything AV7. Wood Elf Wardancers get a pass because they're good even if they're rookie). You tend to lead assaults with the ghouls, which predictably ends up in casualties and then being shorthanded of players to carry the ball on the pitch.
Sometimes you have no choice, but whenever possible try to keep your ghouls alive and wait for a better opportunity. Undead aren't really a flashy steal team like Humans or even Necromantic; they're a slow grinder like Khemri or Dwarves.

Before I restart this recap business, I want to look back in time to two interesting Week 2 Rookie game: The battle of the failed Lizards and The Battle of the "shitposters". While I consider myself neutral in opinion in both respects, the games did stir up some discussion that is worth not forgetting.

Rebel Risers vs Just Elf My League Up(1-1)
This game caught my attention not from any special attribute but from the roaring boos of the crowd. What could have made the fans so mad?
Lets find out.
The first drive starts innocuously enough with the Rebels picking up the ball and diving into their own cage, the elves on the other hand took up the game of elfbash and swarmed the undead team. This seems to have taken the undead team off guard and they spent several turns mired in the elfscrum without making any forward progress and only hurting one elf. Turn 4 saw a failed block from Grand Wizard Bedford Nathan, a turnover which cost the Rebels temporary control of the ball. The ball, now free of the scrum, switches hand a few times before ending with Braxton Bragg. Braxton jukes his defenders and scores Turn 6, giving JEMLU a chance at a 2TTD. One failed GFI on an easy elf pass later and the Rebels are up 1-0 at the half.
Perhaps spurred on by the simultaneous booing of the entire crowd, JEMLU's experienced catcher Jusrol Sychses runs in a 2TTD just to prove that he can.
The elves, back in the game, rush the Rebels half of the field and almost pick it for another score, but the critical lack of elves left on the field made the ball impossible to defend. The resulting back and forth control game left the score deadlocked at 1-1.

I caught up with coaches Ph0enyx13 and Tooby after the game.
Tooby confirmed for me his complete disregard for the elfs on his team, and rightly so. While Ph0enynx stated that his team did better that
he had imagined, partially thanks to the crowds encouraging stomps. Finally when questioned about l animal abuse allegations neither coach opted to confirm nor deny charges. Chilling.
On a side note, Crab broke in during the interview and declared himself to be the leader of a cult of personality and that he is the cause of all booing everywhere. Oh, how power can delude.

Nah, the matchups are decided from the top down. If the highest ranked player has already played the second highest rank player, then they play the third, if they've played the third, they play the fourth. Once a match has been made for the highest ranked player, the next highest ranking unmatched player goes through the same thing.

It's annoying to figure out who the lowest brackets will be since you have to eliminate possibilities starting from the top.
