The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear "red-haired spunky pyromancer girl" is Lina Inverse.

I've seen that done before with a Fire Mephit in a game. They pretended to be a ghost with green flames.

Let me tell you something anon.

Do whatever the fuck you want. Because even if your idea starts off as the most cliche shit this planet has ever seen, if you continue to develop your character and add layer upon layer then they become completely unique and your own in no time. There is nothing wrong with cliches and archetypes, as I see them as templates or stepping stones when creating characters. Hell, some people even enjoy such things. I'm sure everyone has at least one character archetype they like seeing in a story or at least don't mind. If you feel like your Pyro is nothing but the cliche then you should probably go back to the drawing board. But if you can look at her as a whole and see more of your own ideas rather than just things that fit inside of the "Fiery Redhead #398927" bubble. Then I'd say you're doing it right.

As a side note. Try to never be overly concerned with originality. Because you'll just tear your hair out trying to find a thing that hasn't been done before in some capacity. Which is virtually impossible.

Sorry if I rambled.

Does it count that the closest I have in my campaign is a Cleric of the Fire God (Enlightenment) that channels her deity's energy to become it's avatar, the Phoenix?

Hell, just going against the cliche and coming up with something original is called cliche on /tg/.

>>

Actually no, just the high priest of her church and had no real role in the last campaign when the players had to kick down Satan's door and punch him in the face. Although next campaign, the players will be allying the People of the Ice and when they are removing all religions beside their ascending Ice Goddess, fighting a Phoenix could be pretty awesome

Redheads make good everything.
>>
>>47188665
It's the combination that makes something original, not the sum of its parts. Mashing the cliches in different ways works. Character interaction makes a pair of stereotypes feel more lifelike. Twists, when done well, can make something bland feel brilliant.

But everyone always looks at everything individually instead of appreciating the whole, and that bothers me. How many female main characters in fantasy novels would be considered unoriginal, despite the differing stories they were in?
>>
>>47187334
Ay we're kinda in the same boat. Only difference is the pyromancer isn't the cliche, it's the knife girl
Pyromancer is chill af, after all she's just spreading the hot fiery love around
>>
>>47187334
>Redheaded, but has yellow extensions
>Hair dyed red, near the scalp you can see the original color is blue
>Enjoys tea
pick one.
>>
>>47193455
To be fair, doing that is the entire reason you become a pyromancer in the first place.

Fire is pretty.
>>
>>47187334
There are no new ideas, anon. You could think of something utterly novel and someone somewhere will draw a vague comparison to something that already exists.

It's your creation. If you're genuinely proud of it, just fucking roll with the punches. It's your thing that you made. You can add your own personal touches, your own character development. I wrote a short story about a battle hardened space marine and it's by far my favourite piece of work even though every single aspect is cliché to a certain degree.
>>
What's worse, /tg/? A painful cliché, or a blatant self-insert?
>>
>>47186135
What does chuuni even mean ?
>>
>>47185647
Sure.
Get prepared to have your ass handed to you on a platter because I play high lethality settings.
>>
>>47197019
Blatant self-inserts are cringeworthy, but you just said the word "painful".
And that trumps any amount of cringe.
>>
>>47185647

>>
>>47197031
Its short for chunnibyou, a Japanese term that basically translates to 2nd year Middle School Student Syndrome. It refers to a tendency for teenagers around the age of 13 or 14 to imagine crazy fantasy worlds and scenarios that would make life "cool" and/or interesting and make them special.

Your thinking is insufficiently revolutionary, comrade.

If you like redheadedness - embrace it! Let there be a whole military academy of female pyromancers that forces every participant to dye their hairs red! Let there be lessons and training of Spunkiness! Make a goddamn parade of red-headed pyromancer girls march through town every year!

>>
>>47190833
Yes it is. Repetition makes things boring. Nothing is interesting the hundredth time youv'e seen it.
Only people with no creativity whatsoever dismiss originality as impossible or not valuable.
>>
>>47187334
If I were you, I would simply make sure to develop her beyond "hot-headed." Just develop some reasons for WHY she's hot-headed, or some situations where she ISN'T so hot-headed, stuff like that. Give her hobbies and think of why she might enjoy them, especially ones she finds relaxing.
>the rest of the party realizes Fireball McRedhead is missing, expects the worst

>>47187334
People worried about cliches aren't fit to write or give writing advice. Execution has always been more important than novelty in regards to critical examination, staying power and sales. It's only in the hypothetical that originality is important. Else we wouldn't fall in love with the same stories and characters over and over again.

If you can make this character work then go for it. You don't need to do anything at all to set her apart, you just have to make people care about this red-hot bounty hunter more than the next red-hot bounty hunter.

Usually cropped/edited stuff like that is a lot harder to source. If you found it with Google they must have edited your source based on browser history because this is what I got via a browser that doesn't normally use Google. I can't find it on the panda, either, at least not by searching "Chandra."
>>47204617
At this point I'm just kind of halfheartedly searching for the sake of curiosity
>>
>>47187334
Instead of a hothead, make her motherly and/or a destructive klutz.
>>
>>47204695
Spoiled for giving away source and ruining your search.

For censored porn, it's easier to just search the character or artist on a relevant site. Check Chandra on Danbooru. I'd like it but I already closed the tab.

You've given me my next character concept. Thanks for saving me the time.

Sure, you can TRY to pursue originality, but you'll have a hard time finding anything original.
