Got a space game gearing up, need portraits and outfit ideas. Retro, military, space federation, doesn't matter.
That's about all of the outfits, spacesuits coming up next
Anyone here?

That looks super dangerous. Like recoil on your own gun could fuck you up because of that axe head.
>>47139091
iirc they mount the axeheads before going into melee, they don't fire the guns with the axes on.

How did that Drow get to space?
>>47132358
Oh hey, art of my character in an art thread? Neat!
>>47141531
I commissioned that in a drawthread last year.
>>47139216
why are they all in the same uniforms?
>>47131939
What are ya running? Looking for a system to try out a space campaign myself
>>47143690
Civil war. Lesser noble and military genius appointed as the chief general, and along with the Chancellor are ruling while the boy Emperor grows up. The other established nobles felt like they were being shafted and started a war.
>>47144155
Mongoose Traveller is my personal favorite (the misspelling is intentional). The core rulebook is very concise, system is just lethal enough, 2d6 system, and the crunchiest parts (trading tables and space combat) can be handwaved away easily enough. Basic tech level is something akin to Firefly, too, only without the Chinese and cowboys. Can't recommend it enough.
>>47144811
Have heard it's pretty decent. Will have to give it a look
Thanks
This is a character I had drawn up.
>>47141083
Space dragons recruited them to make Space KGB.
>>47132066
This style of glass dome helmet is a terrible idea, so much potential to shatter and kill you.
>>47145796
Shia?
>>47147271
I heard some special forces don't wear helmets trading protection for better view. Being able to see things might be more vital in space age as well. Alternatively, glass dome might not be as brittle.

He ain't big on kneepads.
HQ troopers carry dual knives?
Security and MP are separate?
APC crews get drastically different stuff from the tank&walker crews?
>>47148928
>>47149211
>Trooper HQ has two combat knives and what looks like a whole bunch of throwing knives.
For what purpose?
>>47147271
It's pulp sci-fi, Anon, it ain't gotta explain shit
>>47147271
For all we know, the glass could be harder and more durable than the rest of the suit
>>47149731
Then why isn't the rest of the suit made of this miracle see through matter?
>>47149927
Probably very expensive.
>>47150046
Then why make an entire dome around your head instead of a helmet with visor being made of this miracle matter, or make some sorta daft punk helmet and have the glass part made of that matter.
>no space western pics
>>47135571
Min neger
>>47150299
Those aren't really "uniforms" so much as "clothing."
But they are pretty sweet, yeah.
I only wish they had more gold thread and epaulettes.

Rule of Cool
>>47133956
I hope this turns out to be the real SpaceX suit.
This is so fucking sexy I can't even contain myself.
Btw, is there any recent news on The Mandate?
>>47135571
patrician taste
>>47147147
Nice
>>47149927
Because it's not flexible and costs more than regular material which does not need to be transparent or hard.
>>47134242
What is this from? That looks suspiciously like Vin Diesel
>>47153939
Its from the most recent riddick movie where riddick basically owns the necromonger empire as a reluctant but ultimately broken and enslaved king.
Thats him after he returns from NotFuryan and, hardened by his puppies death, decides to take a plunge into the deadzone to acquire more power and cement himself as king the same thing the last king, the one he killed, did. Cue a scene of something that looks suspiciously like the eye of terror (necromonger necron, technically tyranid monsters, golden age of man, and eye of terror theories have plaqued the series so lets not get into that rererehashed shit) before credits roll.
>>47132225
I wonder if this is inspired by Blindsight
>>47153584
Chestplates, shinguards...
And helmets that are fitting more around the head.
>>47154329
Nice fanfiction but Riddick was only the Lord Marshal at the beginning before being dumped on the hell planet.
Besides, Riddick doesn't seem the sort of guy to be the sort of guy to be saddled with whole kingdom who's only source of sustenance is to kill and assimilate more people because they purposefully gave up making babies (although not the baby making process)
>>47153939
Riddick
>>47150233
Faster than light travel, super computers that can fit into a paper-thin wafer, elimination of all disease, but in the meantime humanity can't come up with a work outfit that doesn't show bra lines.
>>47154602
You have seen the directors cut after credits right? Because thats what the next movie is going off of. And that bit is riddick monologing on how he went back and killed off shit the asshats that set him up and the opposition. He then talks about going for a little trip as the camera shows a scene of a big window and outside the window is big ass hole in space with necromonger ships flying into it.
this is going to set the backdrop for Merc City, the spinoff series, and Furia the next movie in the new trilogy.
>>47154804
Very well then, a quick look through wikipedia did not reveal this hence my previous accusation.
Although if this is the case I'm actually kind of hyped now because I want to know what the Underverse is although it sucks that the last Lord Marshel (whatever the fuck his name was) got rid of the thing that gave him the soul moving ability.
>>47150233
>Ginger Beach Edition
>>47154896
...Up until now, I thought Riddick and Pitch Black were the only movies out there. I got some catching up to do.

It's actually a decent movie.

A developer diary last month.
I don't know if I should worry or not.
>>47156828
I hope things are coming along well.
>>47156471
Riddick is pretty damn good considering the budget cuts. Beyond that it basically beats riddick back into who he was before kyra fucked him up.
>>47156471
I always meant to get into these movies, but had been losing interest in sci fi. They might get me back into it, though.
>>47147813
>>47147843
>>47147865
>>47147873
I read the backstory. The Osmani are basically space muslims. Allahu Akbar.
Although The Mandate is looking interesting. A lot better than most of the sci fi stuff shit I've read.
Uniforms from the game Into the Stars. Totally not ripping off Star Trek.
>>47144811
My friend broke the game by having a +3 in slug rifles, a +2 Dex, and aiming, would be rolling for Effect every time. I don't know how he thought it was fun because frankly I thought it was boring as all hell.
>>47132098
Reminds me of the short story "Arena"
Thoughts on this type of armor and or gear that'd most likely be worn by Spec Ops? It looks like a better version of the Dead Space RIGs.
I guess its safe to assume sci-fi officers like the one in pic are trained to be highly disciplined, highly skilled in combat and leadership skills, are equipped with top-notch weaponry reserved only for the best. And in videogame logic, they'd also be the type of NPCs that are hard to fight, have very smart A.I., will issue orders and commands to other NPCs when fighting you, and even when they're on their own they can still be hard to fight for those who are "under-leveled" or unprepared. And have impressive melee combat such as wielding katana-like swords.
Also the reason why in some sci-fi scenarios featuring field officers and commanders wearing such uniforms >>47150769
>>47147897
Those officer uniforms are actually made out of very tough and durable materials that are anti-ballistic, resistant to blunt force trauma, and are just generally tough to break and can resist small caliber to medium caliber weapons.
>>47154796
Unnecessary since they've also cured autists. No room for you in the future.

Combat 2 because being shot in the mouth is one of my darkest fears.
>>47159548
That does make the character hit anything they choose to shoot at, yes. There are still ways to challenge them, even in combat.
>>47162713
Ah, reminds me of the Miles Vorkosigan novels. I assume Honor Harrington is deceptively good despite the cheesy covers, just like Vorkosigan?
>>47164549
No. It's not.
>>47164549
It's got good parts. Got quite a lot of flaws too.
Feels a bit like literary junk food, pretty tasty but you know it's not all that good
>>47166140
I'm really digging this art. How's the actual comic? Does an English translation exist?
>>47166140
>Quick! The roofies will wear off soon!
it's never actually used in space though
Despite coming from a fucking awful game, I love the EVA Suit from Dead Space 3.
>>47167399
DS2 had better ones imho
>>47167992
Also why is it so hard to find any DS suit in any remotely acceptable resolution?
Mmmmh. i have much less than I thought, the majority is on the power armor side of things.
>>47166574
It seems a few have been translated. But I can't seem to find them online.
>>47168099
Power armor can totally be handwaved as space armor, I'd like to see it if you don't mind sharing

>>47168210
>Halo
God I hate the direction the new suits have taken.
They just look like garbage...
Reach was the last one to have anything decent looking.
>>47168258
Halo 5 basically turned into Mass Effect in terms of story and aesthetics. Was kind of jarring.
>>47168258
Well I have some bad news for you concerning my reference images, then
>>47168294
Except boring as all fuck and barely more than an introduction, story wise and lenght wise.
>>47168310
I meant more the whole "all AI is evil and the greatest threat is always going to be synthetic" thing.
Plus Cortana now has a body and wears clothing ripped straight from ME.
Last spacesuit. Rocket Girls, which is more related than 99% of the thread.
>>47168294
At least I can tell the difference between suits in ME
The new Spartan suits are just geometric shapes randomly slapped over a latex suit.
So, I go for a few Mjolnir variants?
>>47168397
Fuck it, they all look like this one anyway. Her'es a few Mass Effect ref sheets
