Pathfinder General - /pfg/

Swarm Druid edition: STILL DOESN'T EXIST, I'M STILL MAD
How would you set scaling for a swarm companion, /pfg/? What kind of swarm would you like to control?

It's 3.5, and druid's one of the few things that changed rather a lot in PF, so you might have to do some more work than normal converting it, but I like this one:

>>
>>46986555

Wouldn't know the first thing about appropriate scaling, but I think I could have fun controlling a rat swarm (preying at night/stalking at night optional).
>>
>>46986555
Swarms are the main antagonists in a campaign I'm playing in. They're hefty telepaths, have the fetchling 'template' and infest people (replacing parts of their central nervous systems, or replace the entire thing if they have the time/inclination)

So I can't really like them, as a matter of principle.
>>
At one time, I tried my hand at making a divine prestige that got a swarm companion, but I never finished due to lack of ideas and laziness.

Zealot. Activating zeal with aid another is a move action. He sits there waiting for you to run out of summons. Then you can't really fight him, you're forced to flee.

> otherwise this character is going to just be a straight up burden on the party
This character should only heal. There will be buffs from other characters, and it shouldn't get too much spotlight. Well, it can take something interesting in support department, but not just +2 to AC or +1 to hit. Maybe something more clever, or not so obvious? If you have any ideas.

Everyone I REQUIRE HELP. I have created part of a class I am writing for a homebrew. I need opinion on the features that are out so far.

To explain the feature Facility Expansion it goes as the following.

The Agent gains a facility they can both pack and unpack, while it is unpacked you are able to make use of a number of features. At it's base it just gives skills, but your Facility Expansions provide other bonuses ranging from at low level stored research notes to at high levels a cloning lab.

Both packing and unpacking your facility is something one must consider as for how long it will take. As well as transporting it.

I would love to have some

I have my last session of >>46986637 campaign finishing up this weekend.
My last character created a fairly successful organization, but ended up destroying the phylactery of a teammate, because he was a dick. That teammate became the controller of the worm swarm and invaded my organization.

Now the infected organization is descending on our new team (completely separate campaign, 1000 years later), as we team with the Dwarven Mechanists in their high-tech mountain home in a ritual with 8 artifacts to write the swarm out of reality.
Should have tons of references, and be a pretty tough fight. That organization is like 80% shadow-themed 15% undead themed and 5% demon themed.

oh god, me. I really can't wait. We stopped right at the beginning of combat because the GM's computer shat itself and we have a rule that you need 4 players present to play, and our 4th fell asleep. Fucking timezones.

I've been informed that the google doc is outdated. That changes the way you go about things a bit. The wizard still aims to pin you down with summons while you fight them off, though. They remain invisible throughout as well, unless you have an item to see through such things. Then they can summon something with trip, preferrably. A bunch of Flying Giant Dire Wolves to trip you. Burn your move recovering and your standard getting up and getting AoO back down. Either way. You can switch stances to get out of the situation or attack from prone, if you have reach. It's gonna take you a while and a decent chunk of health, though. And Black Tentacles are still a possible cast, if the fight starts on the ground.
>>
>>46986754
I believe any time you would get another familiar, you count as progressing the one you have, so no. I miiight be wrong, though.

>>
>>46986982
>>46986754

IIRC, if you have 2 classes that grant familiars, their levels stack when determining its abilities, unless the familiar you take for one isn't available as a familiar for the other, in which case they're separate familiars with each of their abilities determined by your levels in the individual classes that grant them.
However,

How do I make the enemy concept of "slayer that pretends to be harmless background NPC, walks up to the most vulnerable PC, suddenly takes out a pair of short swords and goes to down with sneak attacks/death attack with his first strike" one that won't make people ragequit the game?

Is that possible? Do I just have to properly train them to be on the lookout for stuff like that? I realized how pointless Big Bad Monster fights are against pathfinder characters past the first couple levels so I wanna start using enemies that use strategy instead

yeah that's what it sounds like, but at the same time you can keep look out for suspicious stuff right?

I'm not saying some guy is just gonna *teleports behind u* and stabs someone, obviously that'd be stupid. I just want something that involves a foe that fights more realistically than "walk up to nearest guy, attack endlessly" like in a videogame

Nirvana is the NG plane

Yes. It's objectively below commoner.
>>
>>46987389
>>46987394

Sarenrae is turbo-Arab and Walkena is Mwangi as fuck.

I'm just interested in a Gwyn/Sol Invictus type deal, hell PELOR does a better job of being a sun god than the sun gods in Golarion.

So I guess what I'm saying is my intentions are more for making something that seems European enough, and "historical" enough, to make sense. The Solar worship we got going on in Golarion is weird.
>>
>>46987439

Why is Elysium Chaotic Good? The Elysian Fields were historically where basically everyone generic good went, not just the people who fought against authority.

>>46987488
Man, I don't know.
>>
>>46987467
So you want a European sun god (aka must be male) rather than having a deity that works with Pathfinder's domain system?

The deities in Pathfinder aren't just personifications of aspects of nature (the very few that are would be TN), they have political agendas and varied focuses in their worship, because they're people, not early man's attempts to explain things they saw.

Not saying it couldn't be done, but why worship it? It's the sun, it's not going to cure your diseases or help with the bandits. Hell, it doesn't sound like it has an afterlife for you. Best you got is keep rising and don't stop shining on my crops. And there are deities FOCUSED on that.

The 'Sarenrae belongs to Qadira' meme needs to stop. There's a major cult of Sarenrae there, yes, but that doesn't mean shit because she's a non-ascended deity who was never human and existed long before Qadira was even settled.

She's no more restricted to Qadira/Kelesh-style worshipers than Erastil is to being worshipped exclusively by peasants and farmers.

I'd say something like a long betrayal. Why are these people attacking the party? Did they attempt to trick the party or are they just trying to kill them for funsies? Adventurers as many portray them are homicidal and easily provoked, so I'd think they would attempt poison or somesuch instead of actually attacking, if they were hired killers. I wouldn't go near a group of adventurers, desu. The poison angle will let them know somebody is after them. If it fails, they likely rolled well or had to use spells or skills to get out of dying. They'll be wary. I never suggest death effects, as players can get PISSED. I played in a group that fell apart over death effects.
>>
>>46987488
Elysium, and the Island of the Blessed were meant to just represent a physical paradise.

You had drink and food without obligations to relax after a heroic life.

“For them [in Elysium] the sun shineth in his strength, in the world below, while here ‘tis night; and, in meadows red with roses, the space before their city is shaded by the incense-tree, and is laden with golden fruits. Some of them delight themselves with horses and with wrestling; others with draughts, and with lures; while beside them bloometh the fair flower of perfect bliss. And o’er that lovely land fragrance is ever shed, while they mingle all manner of incense with the far-shining fire on the altar of the gods."

"There round the Islands of the Blest (Nesoi Makaron), the winds of Okeanos play, and golden blossoms burn, some nursed upon the waters, others on land on glorious trees; and woven on their hands are wreaths enchained and flowering crowns"

No responsibilities, no direction, just bliss. It's not so much anti-authority as it is life without authority. It's the ideal hippie/hedonistic commune

What is that even supposed to mean? Literally what does 'fem-Allah' even mean? Are you actually trying to say that the only way Sarenrae can NOT be an allegory for Islam is if she's one for Christianity instead?

You want alternative depictions of Sarenrae? Fucking Shensen is a Sarenrite. The fucking hipster slut bard maintains a giant shrine to Sarenrae under her house, about the person least resembling any kind of Islamic parallel that you could find. There's a tribe of CG orcs out in Belkzen who worship Sarenrae.

The caretaker of the Sandpoint Boneyard and cathedral is a deformed smuggler who found redemption through Sarenrae's religion, a blatant Hunchback of Notre Dame expy, which is as close to Christianity as you're going to get in a pantheistic fantasy setting.

You can run regular aegis or aberrant, I think aberrant has better base customizations (hardened strikes & brawn)

For all the extra arms you need an aegis level of minimum 9 because it takes 12 points to get greater extra arms twice (and GEE requires level 8). It doesn't specifically say you can take extra arms twice, but it also doesn't say you cant.

Beyond that? Sky's the limit friend. Base aegis also allows for ranged attack (shooting a 1d8 'crystal' that could be refluffed).

Some of the stuff that Asura does is prettymuch DM fiat though.

With the rage powers I like elemental rage simply because its more dice tacked on to every hit

Well...

The one campaign I actually really like has gotten canceled for the Nth week in a row. Between the GM's thesis defense, and the players' work/home schedules we haven't played since February. The GM is pretty good, the world is interesting, and my party members all act like adults, so I'm holding out hope that this one doesn't die out.

Got an evil campaign 1-2 shot tomorrow night. Don't know how it's gonna be, because online evil campaigns attract the worst of the edgy autists. Got my Elven serial killer prepped and ready to go, so if everything goes to shit I can spend time RPing as Ted Cruz.

Got the first session of a political intrigue type game on Sunday. All our characters are retainers/servants to this major noble family, so we drew starting backgrounds at random. I ended up accidentally making Battle Maid. GM has disappeared since last Sunday, so I'm not entirely sure it's gonna happen.

And in last night's game the GM pulled an "elf slave wat do." I wonder how long it's gonna take him to figure out my PC isn't into girls...

>Located near Belkzen’s eastern border with Lastwall, the Gorum-worshiping Bloodied Gauntlets are locked in conflict with their human Gorumite counterparts. While the tribe’s fierce battles escalate quickly to shocking levels of violence and carnage, the presence of the Bloodied Gauntlets has proven to be an oddly stabilizing force in the area. More concerned with glory and the thrill of battle than cruelty and destruction, the Bloodied Gauntlets possess something their human brethren in faith might call honor. The obviously weak and helpless are ignored in favor of worthy opponents, and defeated foes are ransomed for steel. For the Bloodied Gauntlets, a worthy enemy is something to be cherished, not squandered.
>This peculiar relationship has led the orcs of this tribe to be oddly protective of their favored rivals. A few more monstrous tribes have been attacked for daring to encroach upon their battlefield. This conflict is partially driven by their half-orc chieftain, Aazhg (CN male half-orc cleric of Gorum 8), and his human brother, Aaren Gaulder (CG male human warpriestACG of Gorum 7). Born on opposite sides of the war, the brothers have set themselves against each other in a hot-blooded but hateless rivalry in the names of their shared father and god.

I tend to find that a 50/50 split works best for me, with strikes as one 50, and the other side being a mix of counters and boosts. More counters if I want a defensive character, more boosts if I want an offensive one.
>>
>>46988357
Depends on how you plan to play, but generally a safe bet would be 1/2/1 for counters/strikes/boosts.

Warlords and harbingers generally want more in the strike department, since their recovery is gated by swift, while warder obviously makes better use of counters, but as a general rule, that should keep you fairly comfortable.

So what's the most durable sword n board martial available, Warder?

Warder's a strong contender, but i'd also argue possibly Paladin, in terms of sheer durability. Cha to saves and swift action healing are pretty strong, and you can pick up some Iron Tortoise tricks through Knight Disciple if you really want counters.

>I don't /really/ like the new resource you've attempted to implement... and I think you're focused way too much on shoto's and their moves.
Any suggestions for how to help move that focus around a bit more then? Like I said above, still trying to tweak and fix things.
>You're greatly missing out on attempts to stun enemies, which is a large portion of how street fightan werks. Add a boost or two that gives a chance to stun, with it's DC increased by number of hits in a combo.
Interesting idea, I'll look into where it fits in. I'm just very wary of stunning since denying an entire turn is pretty powerful, particularly for something you can do with a full attack potentially every other round.
>Other problem is that because your maneuvers are intended to be chained, you can easily expend all readied manuevers in just a single turn.
I'm going to be honest, that was kind of part of the idea. Could you go into more detail on why that's a bigger issue?
>light/medium/heavy strike
What would you suggest for that then? They're supposed to be there as your basic combo builders that are always available, so are they just too boring or something...?
>Some of your higher tier 'manuevers' are still just basic punches and kicks when they should be shit like the kongou kokuretsu zan or shun goku satsu.
KKZ is an Amulet of Quaking Strikes or is a maneuver from a normal PoW discipline where you make the standard action to do the thing. Nothing wrong with that, I was just trying to make something that... I guess made you feel more skillful while playing it? Like you're building a combo out of your maneuver list instead of just "casting" maneuvers.
I also guess I could try improving Shadow Step Flurry, which was supposed to be an homage to SGS.

strikes are pretty potent, and work well with Furious Focus if you're in one of the "hit this thing really fucking hard once" disciplines. The effects are also very nice. Slowing and dealing damage is a wonderful thing, anon.
>>
>>46988508
Strikes are VERY useful, allowing you to contribute in turns that you have to move. Additionally, Boosts and Counters share the same action type: If you countered in the previous round, you can't boost in the current one. But you can nearly always use a strike. That's why I try for that balance. Counters/Boosts tend to get upgraded first, and utility strikes tend to get some priority (things like Shadow Feather Strike on an otherwise melee-focused character, for example)
>>
>>46988844
Wrong quite there friendo
>>
>>46988897
There are also the strikes that hit in interesting ways, like Circle of Razor Feathers for that aoe affect. Black Seraph Style feats with Cornugon Smash also let you boost your profane damage by half if you ace the intimidate, which is nice on a Discordant Crusader

So trying to work out how I'd set up an Awakened Dog as a PC.

Monstrous PC rules apply, right? Except how do I work those with a 1/3CR?
And then the whole awakened effect, would that change how it works by Monstrous PC rules, or would you normally just subtract the cost of the spell (and the cost of an NPC casting it)?

I'm sure I can work out something more straightforward with my GM tomorrow, but I am curious about how monstrous PC rules are supposed to work with fractional CRs
>>
>>46988977
>Monstrous PC rules apply, right?
Not really. They only work with high (2+) CR creatures.
As for a dog, just rebuild it in the race builder, assuming 2-3 RP cost for the type and then build it like you would build any normal character, no cost substraction. That's how I'd go with it.

A bit of a fix:
The creature type of an awakened animal is magical beast (but no stat alteration from regular animal). It's roughly equivalent to outsider in what you get (not affected by dominate/hold person and similar spells), except you don't get darkvision included in outsider type (2RP)
>>
>>46988564
The problem isn't so much with the resource itself, its with how it's generated because overall you're kind of setting it up to be this discipline that burns like all of its manuevers in a single turn. I'd change it to something like "every time you successfully perform a maneuver, you gain [combo] equal to the level of manuever performed" maybe with some caveat for multiple strikes and then set the duration that it lasts.

>Could you go into more detail on why that's a bigger issue?
In general, your moves feel dramatically underpowered for what maneuvers *should* be, and with your design of chaining them together you run into problems of action economy / maneuver economy. For example it would be completely reasonable to have the shun goku satsu or the kongou kokuretsu zan as 6th-7th level manuevers, but with what you've got you're still just throwing punches and kicks.

>What would you suggest for that then? They're supposed to be there as your basic combo builders that are always available, so are they just too boring or something...?
Partially that they're boring, partially that initiators should be ditching / training out of lower level maneuvers as they gain access to higher ones.

The way I'd do it, is performing manuevers gains you combo = to maneuver level * number of successful hits (for multiple attack manuevers). Combo is used to enhance boosts, or it has special interactions with stances. Lower level manuevers are *supposed* to be replaced with higher level maneuvers, so instead of focusing on chaining them together (which could be okay for say - counters) focus on making each strike / counter / boost special in its own regard.

As you progress upwards in level, your manuevers should be more of the special shit and less punches & kicks - I mean, shit I'd only consider akuma to be maybe a 10-11th level character in his own universe, which would put him at around level 5 - 6 manuevers. Oni would be something I'd consider to be around 15th level.

>>
>>46989116
Hell maybe even have [combo] have some further interaction with strikes and counters, so that you can do a [full attack] maneuver to build combo, then next turn use a boost to demon-flip in and unleash a KKZ (than instead of it being a 5ft burst it becomes a 10-15ft burst).

How exactly is arcanist not the best arcane caster?

>Since arcane exploits run on arcane pool you can basically use them forever because all of these abilities use 1 point and spell slots/consumable magic items refil the pool equal to the spell level
>In particular you can craft your own magic items and then eat them another day for huge amounts of arcane pool meaning you can exclusively save your actual spell slots for the really big or situational spells and use arcane exploits for all the minor stuff
>Actually has a capestone (and a pretty amazing one where you get to convert arcane resevoir into spell slots AND cast it with buffed effects, because this class didn't have enough versatility?)

>Gets new spell slots a level earlier (however the very next level the arcanist can cast as many spells in that slot as a wizard can so the wizard only briefly gets ahead. also I'd once again like to mention that an arcanist will cast spells 1/2 levels higher than a wizard of the same level will due to arcane reservoir)
>If they specialize gets one more cast per day (but arcanists don't need to cast as many spells per day because they can just use arcane exploit powers instead)
>Can get higher tier school powers for how little that matters
>Arcane discoveries may be wizard exclusive but that wouldn't really make any sense
>Is slightly less MAD I guess because all the arcane exploits that work like spells are based on charisma. However CHA doesn't effect your arcane reservoir so you can just take all the really busted passive abilities and use the pool exclusively to buff your casting

A maxim I remember about 3.5 was that any round where the wizard is casting a spell on the cleric list, he's a sucker. I get that feeling about these two classes. There's a couple specific levels/situations where the wizard can do something the arcanist can't, but the majority of the time the arcanist will just do it better or more effectively so the wizard is the sucker more often than the reverse.

As a tangent, I was browsing the 3pp stuff and it looks like their's a magical girl class that actually tries to get the concept right. It's a 6 level spell caster that that has a rage-ques transformation mechanic and a fishing move that gets better the longer you wait to use it.

Hmm, is grappling even slightly viable though? Higher level monsters have ridiculous CMD scores so you're basically screwed.

Vigilante with the Wild Souls archetype, choose Spider for that Shoot Web. Play a Wereboar-kin Skinwalker and just apply modifiers for being small since it's allowed with Skinwalkers.

Minor Wishcraft. Lets you trade a use of a racial SLA to grant a "wish" with a cantrip. Pick a race with an At-Will SLA and grab it via Adopted, and you can use it whenever you like.
>>
>>46991383
Unfortunately no Construct Armor since we're level four. I'm working with an "Iron Man as a shark" theme, playing as a Wereshark-kin Skinwalker (Mainly due to pic related which I ordered for something completely different). So I went with a water kineticist. I'm just looking forward to "flying" at level 6 by just laying on the ground and using the waterdancer wild talent to basically slip n' slide around.

How do you feel about cross-race relationships in your games? Especially if its the players doing it.
>>
>>46991042
>>46991516
It's in Inner Sea Races, Minor Wishcraft. You spend a use of your SLA to use any cantrip, knack, or orison that would be the effect of a humanoid within 30 feet's verbal desires.

The trick is to be an Aasimar or a Tiefling, either one with the Scion of Humanity alt trait. You also need either Halo (Aasimar) or Soul Seer (Tiefling), as well as the Adopted trait. Boom, you can now use any arcane cantrip, divine orison, or psychic knack you want as long as you ask for it aloud.
>>
>>46990470
There's actually an Aegis archetype that allows for that. Crystal Warriors get what amounts to a turret that follows them around. Doesn't turn on for a while, though.

Elf/Human doesn't even really feel like inerracial.
Half-elves are even almost as common as actual elves by lore due to elven women being frisky with humans a bit too often, which suggests that elven males are massive cucks, infinitely inferior to glorious humans.
>>
>>46990706
is 3pp allowed? Are all Paizo classes allowed?
>>

They're just as effeminate and cockthirsty as the female elves, that's their problem. Elves practically don't breed unless the females rape the males.

Actually let me lay this out

>Exploiter Wizard

>Gives up arcane bond for arcane reservoir. You can just take the one exploit that gives you arcane bond but arcanist already does the same thing so you haven't actually made any advantage over arcanist here. Also you don't have the ability to convert spells into reservoir points

>Gives up arcane school and all benefits related to that (powers/extra specialist slots) in order for five arcane exploits (compared to the 10 arcanists get). Note that you don't get advanced exploits, just the basic ones (I forgot to go over advanced exploits earlier but some of the choice ones let you choose a metamagic feat to know for the day, the ability to replace enchantments on weapons or armor with any equivalent ability and the ability to steal magic effects with a touch.plus a bunch of "regular exploit but improved" ones that tend to give you arcane reservoir making it even more bottomless than it already was)

You give up literally every advantage you have over arcanist besides slightly earlier access to spells in order to do a bunch of the things arcanist can do as a baseline but worse or with the same amount of investment. How exactly is this better?

Have to split my post into two again
>>
>>46990956
Play a stupid martial of some variety. Maybe Mutagenic Mauler Steel-Breaker Brawler, or Captain America Brawler. If you wanna be pro, be a druid. Those are good stats for a shapechanger with casting.
>>
>>46991728
>>46990971

Lets check out ARCANIST archetypes

>Get an extra spell slot per level and a gimmicky ability to boost spell/arcanist exploits in exchange for one less PREPARED spell per day (totally meaningless) and three exploits

>Get the full effects of any sorcerer bloodline besides spells for five exploits (which means you can style on exploiter wizard even more by taking arcane bloodline to get arcane bond + a bunch of other stuff and still have JUST AS MANY exploits as exploiter wizard does)

>You can invalidate wizards even more with another archetype that gives you ALL THE BENEFITS OF SCHOOL SPECIALIZATION (powers + extra spell per day) for only thee exploits.

>Use arcane pool to cast spells from the druid and good cleric lists, and get spell mastery, in exchange for five exploits.

>Receive the summoners summon SLA only it uses arcane pool instead so you can do it more often for only two exploits)

So again I ask, how is arcanist worse?
>>
>>46990470
Blaster Armorist.
>>
>>46991654
Yeah, let's chalk it up to HFY cuckolding fantasies, not anything silly like half-elves maturing 5.5x faster than pureblood elves and thus being able to outbreed their elven parents like crazy.

Our games are usually gestalt, so I always plan out builds under those circumstances. In this case the other half would be exactly that! Although the turret seems somewhat underwhelming.
>>
>>46991744
You are typing an awful lot for an issue that comes down to being a full spell level behind a wizard half of the time, which is gigantic and not made up for at all by any class features from either class. 2nd level spells are worlds better than 1st level spells. 3rd level spells are worlds better than 2nd level spells. 4th level spells (and +3 metamagics) are worlds better than 3rd level spells. It keeps going, and is a MASSIVE deal because of how much time you spend being a certain level.
>>
>>46991600

It happens now and again, sometimes with NPCs, sometimes between players. I'm guilty of the former-human x winter wolf 5eva.
>>
>>46991383
depending on how you build it. Getting YUGE isn't beyond you, but you'll constantly be YUGE, so it'll feel less like you're a normal-looking badass and more like you're a giant. Half-Giants get to grapple like Large creatures, which can be hella-helpful. With an Enlarge Person, you're grappling like a YUGE creature. Gauntlets of Grappling and Anaconda's Coils and grapple feats will help you fill up your CMB nicely. Note that if you get Anaconda's Coils, you qualify for Final Embrace, which gives grab, which gives a +4 to grapple checks. Just pray the enemy doesn't have Freedom of Movement, or grab some other maneuvers, like a reasonable player.
>>
>>46991833
THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT. I thought something said I couldn't for some reason. Might have been a dream. Weird.
>>
>>46991876
Third level spells are better than second level spells, but for that one level where wizard has it and arcanist doesn't the wizard only gets to cast that third level spell an average of two times. Once the wizard has casted those two spells the wizard gets fuck all while the arcanist gets more and more powerful versions of every single other spell the wizard can cast as well as a bunch of busted arcane exploit powers

Assuming you actually play pathfinder and not the "the wizard does one encounter per day and then takes a nap for 23 hours" vaccum that people like to pretend they play wizard in, those couple higher level spells are an advantage that goes away really fast.
>>
>>46991600
I have no problem with it. They're both sentient, consenting creatures. If they can breed, that's cool. If they can't produce offspring, that's cool too.
>>
>>46991761
HFY cuckolding is fun, though.
It's also essentially how we run humans/elves in our games.
>>
>>46991600
>>46991992
I will say it can get a bit more strange when the races have drastically different lifespans, but as long as they are adults for their race, whatevs. If players are being strangely fetish-y about it, then they can take it to another room. I'm fine with ERP if all players are, but not in the middle of adventure time, damnit.

Grappling is the most viable combat maneuver along with Dirty Trick, and it's usually more powerful in combat than the latter.
>>
>>46992137
>>46986942
Now it's twice!
>>
>>46992148
I tend to find it lacking before level 6, when you can make two checks to maintain. It also opens the grappler up to attacks from the side, which can be painful. If the party is equipped to take advantage of enemies being held down, it's a wonderful maneuver, but it seems not all that great when facing too many enemies. *Dracula Voice* The same could be said of all combat maneuvers, though.

True, although this was asking about viability at higher levels. Trip, Bull Rush, Overrun, Drag, and Reposition straight up don't function at higher levels when you fight big monsters all the time, and Sunder, Steal, and Disarm only work against an incredibly small number of creatures in the entire bestiary. That leaves only Dirty Trick and Grapple as viable maneuvers at most levels.
>>
>>46992337
All I could think of when typing that was Castlevania. I apologize.

>>46992344
Yeah, as far as the number of things it works on, I'd say grapple is high up there. Though, teleportation and rings of FoM will dick you horribly, so getting some kind of item of dimensional anchor to keep teleporters down and having a way to handle FoM are musts.

My group seems pretty much fine with it, and it's led to some cute couples. You can learn a lot about your fellow players by their taste in waifu/husbandos. A kitsune I played wound up paired off with another player's tiefling, probably me and the other player's favorite pair of characters. Though I later found out that part of the reason the OTHER player liked them so much is that my kitsune nailed like, six of their fetishes.

>>
>>46992479
>Why are you assuming it's BIG HUMAN COCKS vs. TIGHT ELVEN PUSSIES?
It's literally mentioned in the lore.
A whole formerly human region is now predominantly half-elven as silly human merchants, nobles and other high class people started taking elven women as wives and it became trendy. After some time, all of the high class became half-elven. More time passed, those half-elves drove out humans.
