>Ever since your youth, everyone have been referring to you as "hero of destiny" who the prophesy say will strike down the demon lord and usher in a new age of peace and prosperity.
>Went on many daring adventures to build up skill, eventually ended up in a close knit adventuring party. There's another fighter in the party, a shy and reserved girl with great skill who would always watch your back in a fight. It was her who first awoken the fires of passions in your heart.
>Feeling you are ready, you tearfully waved goodbye to your party and returned to your homeland. You prepared an elite group of the best warriors of the land and with them you managed to sneak through the demon nation undetected.
>You sneak into the centre keep and after a short and bloody duel managed to defeat the demon king.
>As the demon king and his close bodyguards lay dead at your feet you hear rushed footsteps approaching. Turning around you see your old party mate, she's grown taller and her appearance have changed somewhat since you waved her goodbye, but you still recognises her.
>Tears well up in her eyes as she recognise her father dead on the ground. She raises her weapon and move to block the exit.

What do you do?

In all seriousness, it's a fucking war. People have a tendency to stand by the hard decisions they make. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to roleplay a genuine resolve to fight some bint you had a crush on who knows how long ago when there's this much at stake beyond murderhobodom.

Duty to your king and country.

The realisation your bond was founded on a lie.

The implication that as a demon, she supported and profited by whatever was stopping peace and prosperity across the land.

I legitimely don't have enough information to tell whether I would disarm her and take her into custody, or execute her in cold blood-but OP, tabletop games don't have to end like japanese cartoons. Believe or not, sometimes childhood promises are broken and people move on from their first kisses because they have more important shit to deal with in life.

All I know is it's going to be a short fucking fight if she's not a caster, because those deformed giant hands, complete lack of armor and oversized scythe do not bode well for close quarters combat.

I don't even know what you're talking about, but resorting to ad hominem without grammer doesn't really help your case. Most games I see improv a lot of shit anyway.

Lemme post a better story with a better moral quandary.

>Be playing in a post-apocalyptic, low fantasy homebrew setting.
>Civilization built upon the ruins of the extinct Asryn race, humanoid creatures said to be highly in-tune with magic.
>Disaster has struck the continent hundreds of years ago.
>Stars were right/wrong, major geometric upheaval, sudden rise in monster populations.
>Brought back from the brink of destruction only by a hair's breadth.
>People of the world only starting to pick up the pieces.
>Monsters called "Aethon" roam the land.
>Mindless, half-corporeal shambling creatures, come in varying sizes, shapes and strengths, levels of ferocity.
>Very hard to kill, but should fall if you hit them hard enough.
>Hard part is quarantine; spread highly infectious magical disease known as Shadowtouch
>Body slowly becomes enveloped by tendrils of shadow, grow weaker until eventual death (drain energy).
>Dreadlands are Aethon territory, lifeless land of dead trees and collapsed ruins
>Slowly expands, sucking life out of the earth.
>Party is an assortment of people from neighboring villages/cities.
>Elf Ranger is hunting for an Aethon that killed her fellow rangers .
>Human Fighter searching for a cure to Shadowtouch for his wife.
>Gnome Gunslinger in it to test her weapons, shits n' giggles.
>Be a Human Wizard trying to live up to family legend.

>Second adventure: confirm existence of the Umbral King, do more research about the Dreadlands, follow up leads, flush out an Aethon cult in the sewers of the capital.
>Third adventure: party goes to investigate a border outpost gone silent, reclaim it from Aethon, rescue survivors on sacrifice altar/dissection table. Catch wind of incoming siege on capital.
>Fourth adventure: race out of the Dreadlands, kill a ten-story Aethon and its army besieging the capital, reverse-track the army to ruins of a portal gate that boss blows up before we can use it.
>Fifth adventure: escort a mining company to excavate lost technologies in the Dreadlands, discover a portal leading directly to underground cavern where the Umbral King's Citadel lies.
>Sixth adventure: The Climax of the game.
>Use prestige to gather all rulers of local continent for summit conference
>Present our findings, credentials, and request for their aid.

It's a story, sure, but it's full of holes.

If you're a well-known Chosen Hero, why would the demon's daughter aid you in the first place? Surely she knew your end goal.

The entire party didn't detect her infernal bloodline? Even with your Hero powers?

Why didn't you take your similarly-leveled adventuring party instead of getting a new crew of elite soldiers? If the soldiers are that powerful you should have been questing with them, if they're just equally-leveled substitutes you should have taken your long-time companions with whom you already have experience fighting alongside.

Why didn't she help her dad? Did she just watch with disinterest while you killed her dad, then get sad when you finished?

In the end, it's a string of illogical happenings clumsily assembled for a twist that's supposed to provoke an emotional response that it hasn't earned.

...it's technically better than OP but dude. OP was not exactly a high benchmark to clear, and I'm glad you don't DM for me.

Anyway, again-war, hard choices. First off, we only have the sergeant's word he's not, say, an autmaton controlled by the evil Umbral King. Secondly taking him at his word "probably" is not a good benchmark to justify the systematic extermination of every other sentient race on the world. Thirdly, did he ever try to ask literally anyone else for help other than some of the worst beings in existence? Fourthly, is he even sure there IS a solution before damning everyone else along with his race? It also doesn't help that you kind of made them sound like a race of perfect dindu nothins

No. His justifications are as flimsy as his memory, and he deserves to be laid to rest in the name of king and country. His people are already dead.

If it's any consolation, the "dark powers" are next if Pelor has anything to say about it.

You'll be surprised:
http://www.giantbomb.com/spectral-force/3025-1160/games/

AFAIK in the early games where this did happen, you play as human mercenaries on the princess's side. She wanted revenge on the hero but didn't want to resort to war.

I remember playing Spectral Souls 2 on PSP a long time ago where the people in this setting are still dealing with the fallout of the assassination, three wars and counting.

>If you're a well-known Chosen Hero, why would the demon's daughter aid you in the first place? Surely she knew your end goal.
Demons don't know who the hero was I think.

It only became a moral quandary when the session ground to a halt due to the table being split down the middle as to whether or not this was "right".

Then again, this was their first campaign ever. Literally hadn't touched a tabletop RPG before this, and don't play that much vidya. I chalk up their hesitation to being relatively inexperienced with things like this.

>>46771317

Welcome to /tg/. You write good plot and ideas, we discuss and argue, and maybe we all leave with some new plot hooks. You write shit weaboo romance twaddle and we call you a faggot and spend a few pages insulting you and argue over how many cocks can realistically fit up your bum. This is how we do things. It is not always the best way, but it is our way.

It's the same kind of pathetic ego-wanking either way. Hence why it has no impact to anyone except OP himself.

Her arm didn't regenerate until after their time together adventuring, before that she fought one armed with a shortsword.
The scythe wasn't entrusted to her until just before the assassination.

That /is/ SFW, but as a reminder NSFW images aren't allowed on blue boards.
Even spoilered. It's as stupid as not being allowed to say "saged", but so it goes.
