We need players for a Skype DnD thats basically GuP with ships.

The Navy Game involves high degrees of autism, both from the players and the mechanics.

The setting is an alternate history where aliens attacked during WWI, and WWII was instead the people of earth fighting this enemy. We start off in PRESENT DAY, so we have modern technology, however for the purpose of the game all the combat takes place using WWII and earlier ships, firearms, and costs (The US dollar is worth the same that it was worth in the 1940's).

Game time goes presently from 6:00pm to Midnight for UTC -5 (+DST). Refer to World Clock to figure out when that is for you.

If you are new to DnD, that's completely fine, just don't be an asshole all the time.

-There will be memes, and lots of them.
-You can waifu characters, and if there isn't a waifu for you, the DM knows how to make one for you*.
-You can rise through the Naval ranks as far as your abilities will take you.
-You are playing as yourself RIGHT NOW, so if you've got real life talents such as military training or even knowing how to cook, you can find a position aboard.
*DM is not God, and can not in fact make a perfect waifu for you if you are literal human garbage and a waste of oxygen.

Shameless bump

What are the mechanics like?
>>
>>46752512
Basically you state your action and the DM rolls for you and plugs it into his modifiers to keep up the suspense. Its quite enjoyable when youre in the thick of things. There typically a 1-2 week period in between battles and weve already fucked up the Spanish, Turkish, and Romanian schools.

You can be whatever you really want to be within a fleet. Like Submarines, Destroyers, yadda yadda, aircraft, or even a Marine. If you want to hone your skills at something you say you want to practice it.
>>
>>46751990
does it also involve bumfuckery?
>>
>>46752591
if you're into that, you're free to do so
although all of us players have waifus right now so yeah
>>
>>46752591
I mean.....If youre gay youre gay.

The fleet is co-ed though.

It was explained as:

"The Tankers are all girls so the Aircraft team are all men and the fleet is Co-ed"
>>
>>46751990
So the setting is Strike Witches, but without magic.

And nobody behaves like they are from an anime. The game itself can be pretty comfy and equally intense at times.

I'd be in if not for two things. Number one, I get home at 6pm pacific weekdays, so unless you're running weekends I can't make it. And number two, I'd rather play as an idealized version of my fat subnerd self, rather than my actual fat subnerd self.
>>
>>46754046
Youere perfectly fine being yourself my man. Trust me.

Do you run on weekends or weekdays?

Unless you have a crippling disability (eg wheelchair bound, broken back, unusable hands, complete shti vision, etc), being yourself is the best in this.
And if you do have said kinda disability, you're free to ignore it in game.

Saturday is about the only day that works for me, assuming a six hour timeslot and not making the east coasties stay up till 3am. Sunday also works if you can move the start time back to about 8pm eastern - before that I've got my other game.

Do you have a skype I can add?

I'm actually a reserve naval officer as well as a senior engineering officer in the merchant marine; do I still get to play as myself?
>>
>>46755201

How do we fit into the setting?
>>
>>46755315
you get an interview from the admiral and get assigned a job
It's not really all that complicated
>>
>>46755201
Want to join the game sir?

Okay, so where does the GuP twist come in? I'm assuming we don't get command of a ship right off the bat.
>>
>>46755585
No, you start off as a regular sailor/marine/pilot/submariner aboard a ship/aircraft/submarine and partipate in GuP like naval battles.

You all attend Oorai, and go to battle against the fleets of different national schools.

(Although the number of schools is dramatically increased)
>>
>>46755201
>>46755635
But since this bloke is a Naval Officer IRL, the Admiral would probably stick you in an officers position right away.
>>
>>46755585
Well, no, unless you were in command of a ship in like a country's navy or some shit
you'll start depending on your current capabilities, and will be directly or undirectly presented opportunities to get higher grade depending on your actions and shit
>>46755657
Prolly more of a second-in-command on a ship, but yeah, he'll be way closer to a captain's position than any of us did on our ships.
>>
>>46755686
right around there yeah
>>
bump from page NEIN
>>
>>46755686
So say I have (cadet) signaller qualifications, that could mean a position as a radio officer/EW specialist?
It sounds cool but the timezone problem means proabably a weekend session only.
>>
>>46758293
Yeah its possible if thats what you want.
