I think she's just being a playground bully, i.e. charging a trivial amount and mainly doing it to piss everyone off.

AT THE SAME TIME I wonder if there's a proper scale of captured prince/princess ransoms. Like there are a lot of factors affecting that, probably

>if there's a proper scale of captured prince/princess ransoms
Yes. In the 14th c. the going rate was about 50,000 - 100,000 livres for a Duke, 100,000 to 300,000 for a prince (princesses were not ransomed, though they were often held against their will and married off) and anywhere from 500,000 to 3 million for a great king.
>>
>>46688994
1- Thats a piss poor ransom, this is why women don't make as much, they don't have the courage to ask for more

2-Princes are raised to be badasses because they have to lead a nation. The socialist fantasy that they are all cuckbois is fucking stale as year old bread

I still love that the english peasant's revolt ended when the 14 year old prince regent of england asked to meet the leaders of the revolt in neutral grounds to discuss accepting the peasant's demands, and the prince regent stabbed all of them to death.

It is said that, so brutal was the princeling's orgy of stabbing, to this day the people of england are unnaturally afraid of knives.
>>
>>46688994
. . . . Well, as the current Regent of the Crown I feel I have to ask: How much would we have to pay you to keep him? He's really kind of an embarrassment but I still wasn't looking forward to having to choose between having a civil war or strangling my nephew.

He'll make a great housewife for you.

I mostly hate this artist because most of these women warriors are drawn uglier than shit on purpose. They seem to think that strong women can't be beautiful because that would be sexist. Or maybe they're trying for masculinity, and think ugly is masculine. I like the armour and general idea of some of his work though.

>I mostly hate this artist because most of these women warriors are drawn uglier than shit on purpose.
Why does every woman have to be sexy/cute/pretty attractive? Does every man in media have to be a smoking hot hunk? I mean most people that get into a lot of life or death fights probably are gonna get a little fucked up after a while.
>>
>>46689971
Good question, you should start a thread related to it.
>>
>>46689971
Because most people are generally attractive. Walk downtown and really look at people, and you'll realize that there really aren't all that many horrendously ugly people.

And my real problem with the art is that he seems to have this idea that being beautiful is bad, which is fucking backwards and retarded.

Maybe you just find this artist's style of drawing people unnatractive, and you're so acclimated to seeing pretty warriors that you just assume there is a hidden agenda. How is the lack of pretty warriors evidence that there a message of pretty=bad?

I think you're inferring something that isn't there. It's okay not to like a particular art style for wholly aesthetic reasons without tacking some politics onto it to justify why you don't like it.

I mean, unless yer trying to ransom the prince to a poor farmer or are a poor farmer yerself but even then thats like a good months earnings.

Eh, anyway, how about we fight for it instead? If you win, you can have a nice bit of extra gold plus the ransom for the prince back. If I win, you have to return the prince and undertake to train him as a fighter for the next 6 months, under supervision.

Im willing to give ya 40 gold if ya win and that would be on top of the 10 gold ransom.

one of my favorite encounters to run was when the PCs were trekking through the deep forest and stumble upon the festival of the brigands. Because they all looked and acted like a standard band of wandering adventurers the PCs were welcomed right in among the other scruffy murderhobos of the land, and had to try to maintain their sense of moral superiority and dignity while chilling with a vast carnival of thoroughly reprehensible but personable and jovial roughians. Afterwards they became much more amenable to negotiating with criminals, if only to maintain their welcome for next year's festival.

OP pic isn't that bad. She just has slightly thick lips, messy hair like you'd expect after a fight, and smudged makeup. If you cleaned her up, I think she'd be on the higher side of average. Which is still notable since most young women in fantasy wind up somewhere in the model-to-supermodel range.

Personally, I'm just happy the artist managed to restrain himself from covering her with unnecessary belt-straps in an effort to look "practical". She has two belts, and they're both in expected places holding up important things: her shield, and what looks like a scabbard. She has something wrapped around her sword, but I'll let that slide for now.

Of course not. Just like how liking traps is gay. Trapfags try to justify it with the "b-but they look girly" argument but it's not like they're unknowingly trapped, the fact that it's actually a man is part of the appeal for them (otherwise they'd be ordinary heterosexuals). Just like how the femininity of the reverse trap is part of her appeal.
>>
>>46694539

Kind of? It depends on if you know they're a reverse trap or not. If you didn't decide they were cute before they wore their woman's weeds, you're probably gay.
>>
>>46694539
With gauntled hands and a lower leather cover on the sword blade, it is possible to reverse one's grip to use the sword as a bashing weapon. This actually was a well-known technique in the middle ages. The more you know.

Dwarf is still using her body to support all that weight, including balancing all the stuff on her back. Maybe I'd accept it if she was in some kind of power armor (locking armor?) that kept the weight off of her while standing still. She might not be under much stress due to her dwarven muscles having been folded a million times, but she certainly isn't resting.

Mage looks like she's about to fall over. Maybe if she took a more relaxed posture, like sitting down or even just leaning on something that doesn't require her grip or balance.

I'd let the hobbit count as resting, at least she's sitting down so all the weight isn't on her shoulders.

No, the masculinity of the reverse trap is the main appeal, because its a girl you can't tell apart from a man. I don't deny that is't hetero (ew), but one doesn't generally like tomboys because for their being girly.
>>
>>46700104
Tomboys aren't really reverse traps. It's mainly a personality and role thing than it has to do with outward appearances. It's also kind of relative. A lot of female fictional characters in Scifi and Fantasy in the laat twenty years would be tomboys by the standards of 100 years ago or even as late as the 60s.
>>
>>46700211
still, the main appeal of a reverse trap is not her femininity, which is meant to be so lacking that she can be confused for a handsome lad.
>>
>>46689672
>masculinity
citation
>>
>>46700293
That is true. But I think it's unfair to compare a reverse trap to a tomboy, because a tomboy is still recognizably a girl despite the masculine traits or mindset.

That's not to say a reverse trap can't be appealing - it's just you're not supposed to be able to tell they're a girl, and in an in-character sense or whatever you'd call it, you wouldn't know yourself, so you'd probably think you were thinking gay thoughts.

The chronicler who says the Mayor was the stabber of Wat Tyler also says that the mayor slashed wat tyler's face and neck with a sword, but that wat survived long enough to be later decapitated after riding back to london, staying a few weeks in a pauper's infirmary and then being put on trial - also asserts the fight started because Wat Tyler "rudely rinsed his mouth out with water" and one of Richard II courtiers called him the biggest theif in kent.

Personally I'm putting my money, all 1ton of copper, on Richard II straight up going into one of the stab franzies that would later dominate much of his life as hunchbacked king of england.

Wanna know why he wanted a horse so badly he'd give his kingdom up for one? Because he'd stabbed all the other horses right before a battle.

Because you're thinking of Richard III (Richard of York, 1452-1485), not Richard II (Richard Plantagenet, 1367-1400). Though its debatable how much of a mad stabber Dick 3 was as well.

Though I note that Richard II's dad, the so-called "black prince of Belle's Aire (a manor in kent)" on account of his life being flipped turned upside down by the hundred years war, died before under mysterious stabbing related circumstances and thus allowed Richard II to become king right after his grandfather died.

It's funny how reverse-SJWs look for any possible reason to get upset on the Internet.

When someone is upset at perceived sociopolitical situations in their larger world and lacks the ability to articulate their upsettitude, they ejaculate "tumblr!" until exhausted.

I've been known to ejaculate into a tumbler until exhausted.

No, a WJS is a completely different thing from the excluded middle.

For one thing, they have fewer hitdice.
>>
>>46709780
It's kind of obvious at this point though that it's only SJW's that keep bumping this thread. It's basically an empty topic that they're using to hold a chat while the guy hoping to promote this webcomic encourages them.

Also, does anyone have that SJW wearing a mask image?
>>
>>46710887
The middle isn't excluded, the middle are normal people who don't like obviously stupid shit.

The louder ones do tend to have fewer hitdice though.

Okay so have we hit the point where our definition of tumblr art is literally "stylized" and "western"?

There was some point where there was some method to what got called "tumblr art," like it was this vaguely adventure timey style with noodle arms and red noses, but is it really just "stylized cartoons" now? The K6BD guy is as far off from the style I used to associate with whining about tumblr that you can get and this has become fucking obnoxious
>>
>>46711076
No, it's a particular type of shitty western stylization. One of the defining traits of "tumblr art" is ugly faces with fucked up mouths and teeth, particularly on women.

It's half "We're redefining the standards of beauty, get with the times," and half "We're shitty artists that spent too much time with furries so we don't know how to draw an attractive human face."

And, awful faces is the defining characteristic of the K6BD art style.

Sometimes they just luck out and the golden boy dies unexpectedly without any prompting, like what happened with the young Prince Henry Tudor and his brother Arthur (Arthur was originally wed to Catherine of Aragon, and Henry had the hots for her so badly that when his brother died he wangled it so he could marry her instead, even though it was against canon law and required special dispensation from the pope. That turned out to be a mistake, in hindsight).

>>46709742
Nah, the Black Prince likely died from complcations due to contracting dysentery on campaign. Much like Henry V (he of Agincourt fame) he probably died shitting himself to death.

History is a marvellous subject.

Only acceptable in anime on a budget. Inexcusable in manga or animation with high production value.
>>
>>46711213
not that guy but those characters don't look very intentionally "ugly" within the art style. I'm sure you'll disagree, at least partly because you're too invested in this argument at this point, but that doesn't look traditionally "ugly," especially considering that's most likely a dwarf that's being drawn. Then there is also no fucked up teeth as you describe. Mage has like 4 arrows stuck inside so that's an understandable face.

Some of you people are as easily triggered as tumblr is and it probably detracts from your enjoyment of things more than you'd like.
>>
>>46711626
people getting pissed and accusing artists of being tumblr when ladies aren't sameface sounds related to me.

Though probably not relevant to the argument they were trying to have, so I'll drop it.
>>
>>46711803
It's a false dichotomy because you're implying that his bad artstyle is the only way to avoid sameface.
>>
>>46711840
I can see how it'd come off that way. Could you give me an example where that isn't the case? Not for argument purposes, I'd just like to see it done.
>>
>>46711870
Really? You haven't come across any other art outside of your dichotomy, in any medium, in all the years you've been alive? Okay, anything bordering on photorealism for starters. To save myself time just go here.

>>
>>46712283
They don't all though. Someone also made the point here that while real people aren't all 8-10s they also aren't largely 1-4s. When people don't approve of a lot characters they deem ugly they just think they largely ought to be 5-6-7s, you know the inbetween, like real life.
>>
>>46712368
Okay, if we're going animation then the Total Drama cartoons.
>>
>>46712549
That sounds like a good example. Even though half the ladies have similar faces with different expressions there's definitely variety.

And not enough to piss off that guy trying to root out all tumblr.

Berzerk is pretty decent with this too although that could just be the art changing over the years. It's sort of the case with Jojo anyway since Jojo hardly features girls at all and many of the prominent girls are spread out over years. Yukako is pretty distinct from Lisa Lisa or Mariah anyway. I'd throw in part 6 too but it's when all the Jojo characters started looking truly samey.

Because it has an awful community and enabled blogposting pages for years, but that's like getting mad over the discussion page in any wiki up to and including wikipedia.
>>
>>46712815
A lot of those jojo ladies look like gender swapped versions of the men. Or is it the other way around?
>>
>>46713866
i think the androgyny is kind of the point
>>
>>46713866
Depends on the Part. Early Jojo everyone is manly, late Jojo everyone is girly.
>>
>>46713866

In part 3 Polnareff's Sister, when she's briefly shown fairly late in the part, is literally just drawn as Lisa Lisa from part 2.

There was some terrible sameface before SBR and his art game levelled up.
