House Gauthier
"With a Soft Hand"
Previous threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Gauthier

>Defences (7 remaining)
-Hall: Needs a name, either "Gauthier Hall/Garhall" or some pre-Aegon name we never bothered to change.

>Influence (2 remaining)
-Firstborn Son (Heir of Age)
-Daughter (of Age)
-3 more daughters and 1 son (still children)

>Lands (0 remaining)
-Hills, Road, Small Town, Grassland (Town needs a name).
-Wetlands, River

>Law (37)
Your subjects generally don't cause trouble, but with only 100 men to police the town and patrol the countryside there are blind spots.
-1 House Fortune

>Population (41)
Our nameless town is teeming with people.
+1 House Fortune

>Power (0 remaining)
-Veteran Personal Guard: "Fist of Gauthier"/"Gauthier High Guard"/"Gauthier Brotherhood"
-Trained Infantry: Acts as the town guard. Not incompetent by any means, but apart from one grizzled man-at-arms they are more used to breaking up tavern brawls than battle.
-Banner House: Still have to finish this up.

>Wealth (0 remaining)
-Maester [+3 House Fortune]
-Animal Husbandry (Sheep) and Wool [+2 House Fortune, +2 Wealth Gain]
-Comfortable Living [+1B Natural Healing for characters, +1 Intrigue Defence].

>Good News!
Given the hype and some free time coming up I may be able to run a quest off this soon every Sunday.

>Bad News
This won't be until the 25th at the earliest and if I lose my free Sundays threads will be intermittent at best.

Now, onwards with the finalisation of our Riverlands House full of Riverland Babes.

>To Do List
(1) Decide who we would play as.
-The aging Lord Gareth Gauthier (he's had six kids by now, he's definitely not young)
-The up-and coming Heir Rotrick Gauthier, who is slowly taking over more and more responsibilities as his father sinks into a comfy semi-retirement.
-The eldest daughter Genna Gauthier, who actually manages the place while her father and brother do tournaments, hunting and other 'boy stuff'.

(2) The name of our Hall.
(3) The name of our Town. Anything other than "Gauthier Town" or "Riverplace" please.
(4) The name of the Veteran Personal Gaurd. These are the distant-relatives that will serve as our closest fighting companions if/when shit hits the fan. They are armoured knights all (or close enough) and sworn to defend the honour of House Gauthier and it's Ladies.
(5) Finish up our Bannerhouse.
>>
Our Bannerhouse has a few things that need finalising as well. It needs both a name and words if it is a minor house, and neither if it is a mere landed Gauthier Knight. Names of the Hall, specific people and such need not necessarily be fleshed out unless you feel like it.

>Defence (0 remaining, transferred 2 influence for 1 defence)
-Hall

>Influence (5 remaining)
-Firstborn son
Spend the last 5 influence into a Bastard or transfer it into 3 Power?

>Lands (0 remaining)
-Wetlands, Hamlet, Road, Lake

>Law 16

>Population 19

>Power (0 remaining)
-Veteran Infantry
-Green Criminals
OR
-Trained Infantry
-Green Archers

>Wealth (15 left)
-Townhouse in Gauthier lands (Current Mad Lord neglects his own lands and prefers to spend it here OR his son stays here to keep his head down when his dad is acting particularly crazy)
-Fishery [+1 House Fortune]
-Road Tolls [+1 Law Gain, +1 Wealth Gain]

For the Bannerhouse
(1) Is the Lord the head of a very minor house or a Gauthier Landed-knight of middling success?
(2) If it is a House in its own right, what is the name of the House and what are its words? (House was founded as the result of a victory in the Blackfyre Rebellion).
(3) Do we spend the 15 wealth on other holdings or transfer it into 15 power and spend it on military might? (Reminder, this house swears its allegiance to you)

All good suggestions.

Playing the Bastard is a possibility, but we wouldn't have a say in running the House or any major decisions is all.

And the Veteran Personal Guard is generally 20 or so men as opposed to 100 Infantry.

>>46645694
>>46645760

As there was little to no indication of the wealth being spent on the banner house, and the fact there are already a few wealth items there, I'm going to rule it that that 15 Wealth is now transfered into 15 additional Power. This banner house is essential your muscle, so a focus on power makes sense. Even if the current lord is pretty kooky.

In an effort to get some conclusion on this I'm putting what I can to a snap vote.

House Gautier
>(1) Play as:
A) The Aging Lord
B) The Up-and-coming Heir
C) The wily Daughter (naturally a total babe)
A quest focused on Elmo Rivers is of course an option, just not run by me.

>(2) Hall name:
A) Maiden Hall
B) Knightfall Hall
C) Softsong Hearth
D) Garhall

> (3) Personal Guard (50 men) name
A) The Hundred Gauntlets
B) The Mitten Men
C) The Steel Thumb
D) Shields of Gauthier
E) The Gauthier Brotherhood
F) Gauthier Highguard

>(4) Town name:
A) Susanna Town / Susannaton
B) Lyack Town / Lyackton
C) Wool Town / Woolington

> (5) Banner house status:
A) Minor House (needs name and words)
B) Landed Knight (Gauthier relative) "van Gauthier"

>(6) Banner house 15 power:
Spend this, the banner house here is essentially your muscle and this is the most material way they will contribute to your cause.

> Player Role
We will be playing as the young heir apparent, Rotrik Gauthier. As his father's age becomes increasingly apparent, Rotrik has been entrusted with the running of most matters concerning the House. His father has the final say in any major decisions, but he prefers to spend most of his time in the pleasant company of his young daughters and nieces (often falling asleep reading a book or report while the children are at play or lessons).
While Rotrik obviously has a higher official standing than his stunning sister, they have to come grips with one another before with Genna convincing father to her way of thinking on numerous matters before.
You are in no way physically attracted to her so don't even start.

> Our Hall and Home
Maiden Hall
With the further invest of comfortable living this place is really quite cozy and nice to relax in. We officially have the 'nicest' pad out of any previous House Quest. Given that both a lot of your male and female cousins of all ages live here, Maiden Hall abounds with the laughter and sounds of children.

> Town Name
Outside of the walled Maiden Hall (with a very shallow moat as well) is Woolington. Unlike other towns it doesn't sprawl across the hill it rests atop, it's more of a lazy sunbathing. Aside from a few hedges, low fences and natural barriers, the town is lacks and actual wall.

> Banner House Forces summary
The son and heir of the Banner house leads this force, and has taken to 'losing' or 'interpreting' the more... bizarre orders he receives from his Lord father.

x2 Trained Infantry
x1 Green Archers
x1 Veteran Archers

So the only thing remaining is a Name and Words for our banner house.

How about playing as Rotrick and have Elmo as an outside contact?
I believe Elmo isn't actually officially recognized as existing by the rest of the house but nothing stops Rotrick from personally recognizing him as a friend.

Also, we should figure out just whose child is Elmo. Maybe of one of Gareth's sisters? I believe he was supposed to have three

Something like:
On a 1d6

>4 - Mother's House's color
>5-6 - Mother's color

Now, person's color and house's color might be the same. And stuff like Baratheon (overpowers everything) or Targaryen (very much recessive) might change the table

I'm inclined to set it a few months or up to a year before the events in the books/series.

So Jon Arryn is still alive for now and you would actually have some time to develop before the Lannisters send the Mountain into the Riverlands for happy-fun-playtime.

I can see Littlefinger encouraging Darry to incite Eddard against the Lannisters, but that doesn't mean that Tywin didn't let him loose as retribution against Catelyn Stark's family (given he couldn't strike at the North).

And the questions about gold in the village also acted as an excuse to torture, that was obvious. Given what we see, I don't buy that the Mountain was innocent of these atrocities.

House Darry aka Dairy are obviously decendants of House Butterwell. House Butterwell were the richest House in the Riverlands, from their dairy cows, then Bloodraven buggered them with a stick and left them penniless for trying to raise in rebellion for Daemon II Blackfyre.
Those three houses and the Bwb are working for Varys and Illyrio and are the bannerless Blackfyre Rebellion 6.0.

Speaking of our banner house. How was it founded? We know it's a Victory but we don't know its nature. I think figuring it out might very well help us flesh out the house, its name, its sigil and words

Remember please that it was during Blackfyre Rebellions, the current Lord is a different man from the founder

Maybe its founder was some sort of distant Gauthier bastard that led his squad to rout a Targ force and capture its noble leader? Now his grandson is going mad from his ambition

Maybe he was a baseborn self-made man, as >>46665020 puts it? He rose through the ranks and was a sort of black ops man for Gauthier lord of the time. His grandson is a vicious bastard with a cruel streak

Considering the Lannister momma And the blood of the Gautheir who from their sigil are a House from some Riverlander Hand of the King. Probably House Harroway since being Hand was the last thing that house's lord did on this earth. The relatives would need to change their name after what Maegor the cruel did to their relatives so yeah I'd say Gennas pretty banging. Our founding event was a favour (followed by two more) so the general idea is that we married our way into nobility following the chaos left in the wake of Aegon the Conqueror. We generally either stayed out of or weren't horribly affected by the majority of the conflicts since then, and have developed a reputation for siring hot babes that extort the virtues of the Maiden and are held by many as an ideal example of what a Westerosi woman should be.

Who exactly married who and other details have so far not been discussed.

Hopefully, there's no Tully-dumb. Time will tell, I guess
>>
>>46665262
Mix red auburn Gautheir hair and blonde Lannister hair senpai
>>
>>46665283
Wouldn't we kind of hope for the majority of our cousins to not be too bright lest they start getting ideas?
>>
>>46665285
Ah, yes real world logic. Makes sense then.
I guess I got used to completely nonsensical genetics of Gurm's design
>>
>>46665180
>>46665127
Interestingly the red hair of Sansa and Catelyn seems not to be from Tully genes, but from Red Haired Danelle Lothston since Cat's mother was a Whent who are related to the Lothstons and also held Harrenhal. (Which the Harroways also held)
>>
>>46665321
bookwise they've always had auburn not red

HBO screwed up I guess
>>
So! About the heir, he any good with a sword? Jaime-level or completely a shit?
>>
>>46665450
Jaime is in the top 3 for the best swordman title, in a 1on1 fight against him only Selmy and maybe Lynn Corbray have a chance to fuck him up.
>>
>>46665450
>Jaime level

not likely
>>
>>46665450
I'd say pretty damn good but with a focus on natural skill and dem genetics rather than technique.
>>
>>46665480
>>46665476
Even the Greatjon could shit and fuck Jaime up. Selmy is Jaime's equal in jousting, I think. Lots of people could fuck the shit out of him given the chance.

>>46665487
So we're like...Victarion Greyjoy? Or are we like Talbert Serry, the knight he killed? Do we even prefer swords? or are we more a morningstar/axe guy?
>>
>>46665450
The Bastard (anon, not Elmo) will start the character roll-up in a few hours.

A focus on combat makes sense if we were once part of the 100 Gauntlets. Given our family's lack of notable achievements in warfare, a focus on tourneys and duels could also make sense.
>>
>>46665450
Good but not Jaime level

The vibe I was getting during previous threads was that our house is blessed with pretty good luck all round.

The girls are all complete 10/10 stunners that can pull marriages way outside our house's standing and have knights fighting over them with just a giggle and a flick of their fan.
But they're smart too, using this social intelligence to dance through all games and intrigue of Westeros (that's why our family's managed avoid any negative events in the history).

The guys are just as lucky. Tall, tanned knights with chiselled features and rippling muscles. Not dumb by any means but definitely far less interested in political scheming. Instead they spend their time dawn to dusk hunting, fighting and basically being the sterotypical jocks.
All this means they're fucking good knights while their sisters, mothers and aunts are off pushing the political deals.
>>
>>46665530
I'm seeing our guy as this brave if not fearless young lord who leads by the Van, first in battle, last to leave. Maybe he even rides with his bastard bro alongside him.
>>
>>46665588
Dubs have spoken. Going to write fluff for our guy.

--Knighted at....fifteen, perhaps? Or sixteen? Maybe for some feat that really made the knight he was serving go "Wow you should be a knight." Maybe killing a small band of bandits running around?
>>
>>46665632
"'Twas just a jape bro!"
>>
>>46665515
I'd say swords and lances primarily to go with our stereotype of an image. I'm also seeing him as a decent brawler too, long afternoons wrestling shirtless with the rest of the 100 Guantlets. Good with a boar spear from all time spent hunting.
Bit of an all-rounder generally but no expert at range.

Stats-wise I'd say
>Fighting, Athletics, Endurance
>Animal Handling, Agility
>Some social skills, Warfare?
>Everything else
>Drop Thievery and Stealth to 1 for extra EXP elsewhere
Bonus dice in
>Longswords, Spears (lances), Ride
>Maybe Charm or Seducation, not really

>>46665632
>>46665589
Sounds good to me bro
>>
>>46665632
Probably won some local tourneys, and placed decently in Riverland-wide ones. He's better with a sword than lance, his style can be described as traditional with the chaotic twist. He doesn't rely heavily on technique, instead tempering technique with erratic swings, skill and general unpredictability, which makes him so dangerous. A counter riposte won't help when this guy decides to use his superior speed to cut your head off while breaking through your guard.

Probably called like the Stronghand or something.
>>
>>46665875

Warhammer then maybe, not sword?

That's a good possibility, and I'm thinking our guy wields that monstrosity with one hand while keeping a kite shield on the other hand. Fuck. He's going to give the Mountain a hard fucking time.
>>
>>46665960
What monstrosity? It's shorter than a sword
>>
>>46665967
Wait. Really? So it's a morningstar-ish type of weapon?
>>
>>46665995
Pretty much, yeah. Just a one-handed weapon designed to pierce enemy's armor
Flanged mace is also pretty much the same just looking better
>>
>>46665632
If I may, the heir is young. I'm talking 18 MAX. It would make sense if he was knighted for some feat on the tourney field, but hasn't ever actually killed a man.

Given the high law and lack of recent conflict, the Riverlands have been idyllicly peaceful these past few years.
>>
>>46666046
So, a Young Adult age category then, 14-18
Thanks for the info
>>
>>46666046
Your call brother. I'm just thinking that he should have a true martial feat. Like Jaime killing someone part of the Kingswood Brotherhood.
>>
>>46666079
Jaime was a prodigy, and an extremely lopsided one this guy... well, I guess we'll know
With the list of skills in >>46665854, we won't have many high ranks with the EXP given
>>
>>46665875
Now I've got this image of him locked in a sword duel with someone then suddenly just stepping in close, grabbing his opponent behind a knee and slamming him to the ground.

>>46665926
I like the sound of a greatsword but with lots of halfswording and use of the sword as a lever in pseudo-wrestling moves.
I saw a youtube video once of some guys kitted out as knights demonstrating the various throws and trips they tended to use in the period and I wish I could find it because it sounds great for this guy.

I'm off to bed now guys with work in 7 hours but I'll check in when I can.

I'm liking the discussion involving the heir, I'm assuming everyone is happy with the name Rotrik?

When you do get around to actual stats and details of back story, keep in mind that he is only just now starting to make a name for himself. He might have a moniker amongst the 100 Gauntlets from his skill and unpredictability in their practice bouts and the occasional tourney, but he's not famous (yet).

Also keep in mind that in our House the women are generally the source of our cleverest maneuvers involving intruige. Obviously our guy isn't a lackwit, but you should consider the type of relationship he has with his sister Genna and his mother, especially given Genna has convinced their father to her way of thinking against Rotriks choice before. There will be some friction there, Genna would probably prefer you to stick to your 'boy stuff' while she handles the intricacies, . how much is up to you. "With a soft hand" may not only refer to how you manipulate your foes, but also how you deal with your family.

There's also how you get along with your bastard-cousin Elmo Rivers, your father certainly hates him but honours his dead sisters wish that he be provided for. Is Elmo even allowed in Maiden Hall or does he have a spot somewhere in town?

Night fellas, and good luck.
>>
>>46666997
Goodnight, and have a dream of all Gauthier maidens
>>
>>46666997
If you could, please make a twitter account so we know when you are running and can join in without missing stuff.

As for some of the stuff posted, whilst it's cool to think he'll be an action hero.. using a greatsword is actually a huge stat investment, one that we may not be able to do at 18. As for tripping and wrestling, I know it was just fun convo but it's not really something you can (or want to) build for in this game.

He wont be a Jamie, Jamie is one of the best and as anon said, lop sided. I'm cool if we invest in his swordsmanship but it's something to keep in mind. Jamie has 8 dice in swordsmanship (Rank 5, 3 bonus) that is a significant investment and going over that would be a little absurd.

Hey there, I'm back and with a picture!

Tell me, who wants to Rotrick this shit up?
>>
Eh, let's go anyway

First thing: the age. As we know from Maester already, Rotrick is a Young Adult, 18 tops.

Let's be more precise. Give me a 1d4+14!
>>
>>46668402

>>46668402

>>
>>46668439
Wrong die!

>>46668469
Aha! Rotrick is 17!

>>46668502
Because Westeros has only mangled English and Germanic names
>>
Alright. Next is his status.
Given that he was bought for 20 influence points and our House's maximum Status is 4, it makes Rotrick's Status 3. Not exactly a lot but hey, we get what we can.
Also, more experience for other stuff

Now, his Role. Does anyone object to the list of skills in >>46665854?
>>
>>46668538
The only thing I object to is dropping two skills to 1. 1 is inept. Whilst I can see us sucking in one skill to the point we are worse than the average person, two seems excessive and minmaxy
>>
>>46668586
I agree, actually. But we'll cross that bridge once we get to it
>>
>>46668538
>>46668586
Also instead of Seduction, maybe breeding? Brought up to be aware of who is who in the realm with the added bonus of bumping intrigue defence occasionally.

Status: Tournaments would also be decent if we were the kind of person to ride around and gain fame and honour for our house.
>>
Any other opinions?

>>46668647
Not bad ideas both.
I'm also not so sure about what weapons if any he specializes in
>>
>>46668538
>>46668686

Let me try to list out famous ppl in riverland:
Edmure Tully?
Walder Frey?
>>
>>46668538
I'm heading off soon so I'll leave this here.

230
fighting 5 160
Athletics 4 120
Endurance 4 80
Animal Handling 3 70
Agility 3 60
Warfare 3 50
Persuasion 3 40
Status 3 30
Awareness? Will? Speak High Valyrian? Marksmanship? Or change a 3 to a 4
Everything else 2
Stealth or Deception 1
If stealth AND deception we have another 50 points to play with.
Bonus Dice: Ride, Longblades, Spears or Brawling, Seduce or Charm, A warfare specialty? An agility or athletics specialty, or ride again?

I was the guy who did the first list for skills, here's how I'd do the breakdown pointswise but it's late here and I feel I may have made a mistake with the maths. I'd really like to drop both stealth and deception because I think it fits our character to be bad at both of those. He's not stupid, just not good with the tricksy stuff.
Also opens up the option of our sister training up our bastard relative as someone a little more stealthy to do some underhand work. And develops a source of tension between us and her if our deception's low, she'll feel the urge to keep some of the political manuevering to herself if she thinks we can't be trusted not to reveal something through our expression or whatever. Weak stats give really nice story hooks like that.

As for weapons. I'm really feeling war lance and longblades for this guy. Our girls are the perfect Westerosi woman, I reckon our guys should think they embody the perfect Westerosi man and that means swords and lances. Lances are also good for tournaments where our sisters can work their magic and we show off our chiselled jaws.
Other really important point is that anything Powerful gives us +Str in dmg (athletics) which looks like a damn fine boost. Greatsword, lances and boar spear are the powerful weapons that I think fit our character. Bastard sword isn't powerful but it's what I first thought of our guy using. Double-recurve bow is a Powerful ranged weapon
>>
>>46668963
I guess we can figure it out by going from our best stat

>>46668963
Rotrick is surprisingly HUMBLE.
Well, that's something he shares with Elmo.

What's the Vice? 2d6!
>>
Rolled 6, 3 = 9 (2d6)

Rollin for Licentious just to complete the stereotype
>>
>>46668995
your effort is too much, i will vote for you.

>>46668995

>>
>>46669009
He's MISERLY. That's unexpected... and a certain barrier on his way to true love
>>
Moving to Abilities now

We have 170 EXP, or Status is 3, all abilities are 2
If we drop 1 ability to 1 we'll get 50 more EXP but don't think we'll ever succed in anything with this ability

Which one it will be?
Whievery? Stealth? Deception?
Or will it be none?
>>
Entire list of Abilities:

Agility
Animal Handling
Athletics
Awareness
Cunning
Deception
Endurance
Fighting
Healing
Knowledge
Marksmanship
Persuasion
Stealth
Survival
Thievery
Warfare
Will
>>
>>46669072
170+50 = 220 total

fighting 5
Athletics 4
Endurance 4
Animal Handling 3
Agility 3
Warfare 3
Persuasion 3
Status 3
Awareness 3
Will 3
Deception/ Stealth 1

Thats 220 points total
>>
>>46669072
actually, i think we can drop thievery but not stealth as i dont think we have to steal while we may force to sneak sometimes. Deception should be like 2 or even 3 as useful in courting to girl.
>>
>>46669072
>>46669088
Let's take a drawback, Supreme Arrogance sounds too good for a jock stereotype. Lascivious and Honour-bound could've fit too.
>>
>>46669088
>>46669134

220 EXP now

I'd like to point out that at Language 2 (Common) we CAN'T READ! Language 3 gives us basics, Davos-style, Language 4 is a great speaker and reader
>>
Oh, and also:

Raising stuff to 3 - 10 EXP
Raising stuff to 4 - 40 EXP
Raising stuff to 5 - 70 EXP

Can't go above 5
>>
>>46669202
Wit that in mind lets drop Will to 2 and bump language to 3.

Shit We would need that if we wanted to be the prince charming won't we? Poetry is supposed to be the best way to make the ladies swoon
>>
>>46669134
This guy's basically just posted the same as me so I'm with him.

Forgot thievery was a thing, I'm definitely pushing to drop thievery AND either deception or stealth. It doesn't mean he can't try those things ... just that he's worse the average at them.

Anyway, I'm off now. Couldn't settle on qualities so you guys do whatever there. Attractive seems flavourful but perhaps not the most effective option.
>>
>>46669231
i think we need at least to smooth talking
let's drop the stealth.

Nah go for it bro. Flaws are the best way to narrative opportunities
>>
>>46669340
Its metagamey as fuck. Having an ability at rank 1 is a deficiency and the a young adult isn't supposed to have an extra 100 points.
>>
>>46669340
That's not a flaw, that's sheer munchkinry. Drawbacks are better flaws

>>46669318
As offered in >>46669228
But lowering Will would decrease our Intrigue Defense

Though it's only 10 EXP to raise it back up during play... soooo I'm doing that

The list is:
fighting 5
Athletics 4
Endurance 4
Animal Handling 3
Agility 3
Warfare 3
Persuasion 3
Status 3
Awareness 3
Language (Common) 3
Thievery 1

Any more modifications?

>>
>>46669454
may i ask breeding for animal husbandry or sexology?
>>
>>46669501
Breeding is for Status. It's basically, "Lord's knowledge" specialty
>>
>>46669501
Breeding is a Status specialty:

"Breeding represents your knowledge of customs and procedures, the forms of etiquette and the expected behaviour when interacting with others of a similar of higher station. Whenever you engage in an intrigue with a character who has satus 4 or higher - and you are aware of the targets status - you may test status as a free action against the targets intrigue defence. Success grants +1 Bonus dice and every 2 degrees thereafter grants you another +1 Bonus dice.
>>
>>46669501
>>46669548
So to cut it down:

Free Status test in intrigue against most people.

A success give you bonus dice for your persuasion stat (charm, convince, seduce etc) which is pretty damn useful.
>>
>>46669500

>>46669454

Charm (We ARE a lover)

Destiny Points and Benefits
As a Young Adult we get 5 Destiny Points
We can spend up to 3 to get Qualities. I'll go through the list and post the ones relevant to Rotrick and the ones he qualifies for

There was also talk of a drawback... Do we want to take one? If yes, I'll post the list
>>
>>46669726
As far as Qualities my vote is for:

Attractive
Charismatic
Spear Fighter/Armour Mastery

Young adult has to take 1 drawback so I vote:

Haughty. Reasoning being something like "We've taken our reputation as a house of beauty and far reaching connections a little too seriously, as such we see those in a lower station as unworthy of our notice and respect" for example
>>

Not really hell your chart even says Tourney and war lances fall under spears it just means we hella good with a lance not that it's our pvp weapon of choice

Besides spears are literally for peasants and unbefitting of a knight outside hunting and jousting
>>
>>46670513
I assumed "spear" just meant lance in this regard
>>46670468
Half-plate
>>
>>46670380
Longsword 500ss
War Lance 60ss
Tourney Lance 40ss
Ringmail 600ss (4 AR, 1 Bulk, -2 Armour Penalty. One of the better options for light armour)
Destrier if we can afford it

>>46670426
>>46670401
Spear fighting is really useful for lances so theres that.

Noble garb costs anywhere from 100 to 1000 stags with few guidelines, so I'll just post this monster
>>
>>46670565
Kinda need that kind of armor for jousting. Dont want to get impaled.
>>
>>46670565
we focus being a tourney knight?

>leather barding if any at all
>>
>>46670588
If we buy that armour we can't afford a horse and weapons
>>
>>46670625
yeah, get horse and weapon first as fundamental, we can buy part by part of armour?
>>
Okay, I put in war and tourney lances, and a longsword (holy shit, it's expensive...)

We have 1920 left
I could post stats for armors and steeds if you want
>>
>>46670695
>back in my day you could kit a knight in full for only 800 stags!
>>
Longsword 500ss
War Lance 60ss
Tourney Lance 40ss
Ringmail 600ss
Courser 600ss

which leaves us with 720, not enough for the most basic barding. As such I think we should spend the 1000 for a Destrier and get barding and better armour for tourneys at later date.

With a Destrier we have 320, enough for some decent nobles garb

Here are armor stats. Or base combat defense is 10

>nobles garb
Yes, guys. I really think we should invest into some of those fancy clothes. Every noble lady is crazy for a sharp dressed knight
>>
>>46670774
>>46670736
Just get the cheap one
>>
>>46670736
not a pro but destrier may not perform in tourney as being grumpy and hard to controlled?
>>
>>46670787
Cheap what? Horse? The Destrier is better mechanically so it's a good option.

>>46670795
They are often used for tourneys rather than war due to how impressive they are but you are right, they can be "high spirited".

"Destriers are tall, strong, splendid anumals and are often high spirited. Destriers give knights a majestic air at tournaments."
>>
>>46670795
DESTRIER : Destriers are tall, strong, splendid animals and are often high spirited. Destriers give knights a majestic air at tournaments. They are normally the most valuable type of horse, being well bred and highly trained. Some even consider them too valuable to risk in war—thus the courser is the preferred mount for fighting.

COURSER : Lighter than a destrier and less costly, coursers are still beautiful animals. Coursers are also strong and fast.

ROUNSEY: Lowest of all is the rounsey, a strong and capable steed of no particular breeding. Although rounseys are perfectly capable war horses, they are relegated to hedge knights, squires, and non-knightly men-at-arms. Rounsey are common riding horses and may also be used as pack animals.

I meant clothes.
>>
>>46670839
>>46670844
thx teach, the destrier i know is the one that get horny on tournament and the one that bite
>>
>>46670839
>The Destrier is better mechanically
By the way, where the FUCK are stats for horses in this damned mess of a book?
>>
>>46670863
Ah k. Doesn't really suit the character though. We are from a house famed for beauty and all that.

>>46670874
Yeah that was an intentional set up by Lorace though, his horse was on heat and the Mountain was riding a male horse.
>>
>>46670881
I know I've seen them but I am seriously struggling to find a fucking source. We can do it Bastard!
>>
>>46670881
I am glad i am not the only one who has a hard time figuring the book out. Has really set back my Hedge Knight plans.
>>
Fuck it, I give up searching

So, is it
Ringmail
Courser
Noble Garb, fancy but not too fancy
>>
>>46671077
Fair enough
>>
>>46671077
nothing to complain of.
>>
Okay, I also put in some travelling clothes and a fancy-looking gambeson (padded armor that passes for normal clothing, think Rotrick's equivalent of Letterman jacket)

You have 315 remaining

The difference is there but we can live with it so far

Alright, folks, we're close to being done.
We need height, weight, color of his eyes and hair, distinguishing features.
We could pick or we could do some improvised rolling
