Wanted to start an army of death korps, but didn't want to fall into the usual 'spam tanks' strategy of most guard armies.
What's are some good pointers/lists for starting, aiming for around 1850 points?

Mass ranked infantry bubble wrapping 9 artillery batteries and other weapon teams. Outnumber orks and Tyranids, dink their tears and make them weep.
Death Rider Company from the Siege Regiment. It's what I run. Your Fast Attack Deathriders becomes your mandatory choices and gains Obsec, you get a Deathrider Colonel, and more slots for artillery. Add Thudd guns, Earthshaker and Medusa Batteries and you have a wonderful list. Infantry Krieg is fluffy, but not good, they are overpriced guardsman for the most part, without the ability to hide heavy weapons in them.
If you want infantry mix in an allied detachment of guard and get some conscripts/infantry platoons. Some Wyverns and vultures too.

This sounds like an incredibly fun list. Deathriders look like a pretty decent choice, plus they'll look incredibly cool doing their "Charge of the Light Brigade" routine across the battlefield.

It's pretty fun. Here is my normal list for 2000 points if you want some ideas, I use all Krieg models for the imperial guard infantry, so it all looks great.
