Yes, very crude. This is my first mini. So, what, I just practice? Get smaller brushes? I tried thinning my paints more, but it got so thin that after a single brushing, the stuff would pool on the flat surfaces.
On the legs you can see the primer chipping and bare plastic showing through. This was GW primer. Was it not heavy enough? Was I just manhandling the fucking thing? Should I always apply a basecoat, even if it's the same color as the primer?
And how the fuck do you apply thin glue on tiny bits like the antenna without it looking like you poured glue all over it?

It should be as thin as possible without it pooling on the miniature, so I guess your consistency is pretty good. Just start using layers and different shades so that the colour doesn't suddenly jump from black to blue, for example. Washes can help, too. And highlights.
One detail brush, one "general brush" and maybe one larger brush is all you should need.
