Khan and Mortarion throw down. Mortarion gets his shit carved up but the Khan is getting exhausted, then as the Khan is lining up a throat-stab-decapitate move Mort teleports out. Like a bitch. In the book, the fight is written as a draw, but in Mortarion's follow-up short story, he's all butthurt that he got his ass beat.
Also the Khan's bodyguard is a hoss. Qin Xa, leader of the Keshig terminators, kills three Deathshroud by his fucking self during the primarch/terminator throwdown.

In the book it comes down to it a tie because the two of them are each other's polar opposites. Slow endurance vs blinding speed. Initially the khan has the upper hand, but Mortarion wears him down. Eventually the khan becomes tired and prepares for one last all out decapitation strike. Mortarion starts chuckling saying how the the white scars have surrounded his ships and he isn't prepared to lose a fleet for this fight and places the fuck out.

I think the Wraithseer is the only OP Eldar unit FW's written rules for, which isn't a bad record. But they wouldn't really be any different from 40k Eldar. (Unlike orks, who got a lot of ideas from the Imperium sometime after 30k).

I mean, the sets are clearly designed for power-armoured infantry, but the picture of the Tartaros terminators shows the models with arms that end at the wrist. On that basis, would they be compatible with the Tartaros armour?

Wonder Dynat+Tartaros Terminators are viable combo in Terminator (Cataphractii) fight. It will be 4++ vs. 5++ in melee, and I'm not sure if ability to make Sweep Advance will make up for a 16.67% worse save or not.

4+ saves means the cataphracts are more likely to win combat against tartaros, meaning the sweep advantage is even smaller than it would be against non-terminator targets.

Talking about recasts with strangers who are in the hobby is like lighting up in a petrol station, even if you made sure to specify which parts were recast.
It's legitimate to recast parts of the models that should be included in sufficient numbers in the box sets they're found in, or available in their own special "upgrade sprues", (stuff like the Deathwatch shoulder pads in various SM boxes), but recasting entire miniatures hurts GW and contradicts the spirit of supporting their craftsmanship (whatever one might think of it).
Those Forge World models are really bloody expensive, though. If you buy, say, half the number of models you want for your list and then recast sufficient replacements, that's not as bad as straight-up turning your basement into your own little Chinese rip-off manufacturing plant.
GW could solve this all, though, if they made their models cheaper, compartmentalised them more, and switched over the production of basic 30k troops to plastic.
200 euro for 30 rank-and-file army men is cancerous, particularly when GW's plastic products are ~50 euro from third party resellers, and models of comparative quality from Warlord Games' historical record was only like ~30 euro for more than 50, metal and plastic.
This, I think, is the list I will be working towards.
Not 100% sure on 2 Mortis and 2 Sicarians. Could maybe go 2 Fire Raptors + something else. Yes, I'm low on scoring units but I'm not sure what to do about it.
Lorgar+Chaplain go with fighty vets, not sure on what powers to give him.

Honestly, all "regulars" should be GW. It would help more people get into 30k, expand people's extant armies, and allow FW to concentrate on making more special characters, vehicles, and elite units.

I think that the likes of Sadpanda and Hastings have said that there's going to be a BaC sequel (Autumn some time, if I remember rightly), but the only word about the contents has come from less than useless rumourmongers at sites like BoLS.
With a little logical deduction, I'd presume that we won't be getting any support squad sprues, given that FW have just redone all the weapons for those in resin. If it is indeed using the same ruleset then it won't contain anything larger than one hex, which would rule out vehicles. Are there any other insights we might be able to glean?

I was planning to go with mauls, yeah. But I do agree that the added consistency of a PF might be worth it. What am I likely to face in CC? Rhino frames with AV10 should die no matter what weapon I've got. Spartans and Contemptors require 6's even with mauls. Sicarians are av12 so mauls would be fine there. In regular marine combat it is not that silly to think the 3 wounds and T5 is durable enough to get a swing back.

Honestly I think that gets expensive. You could run 20 man tac blobs more efficiently than the high cost of that many immortals. It's a cool RoW, but focuses on an ok unit that will most likely not make their points back consistently.

Vikings and barbarian tribal stuff in space is fun. The iconography, paint scheme and fluff (before 5'th editon) is also kinda nice. Most of all I just kinda like that they are a bit more unconventional and more humanitarian than the other chapters in 40k. I'm not quite clear on what the Space Wolves 30k fluff is and I hope the Inferno book doesn't portray them as assholes.
