Thats the problem with webcomics updating a page at a time.
Think of it less as each page is an issue in and of itself and each chapter would be a chapter or volume in a graphic novel

Homeworld and Master of Orion yeah. The Umiak ships and colour scheme reminds me a lot of the Vagyr and Taiidan from HW2. The green faction ships in MOO2 have a very similar art style to the Loroi, green/silver ships with dual prongs for bows. And of course the Elerians.
Arioch even has a special line of dialogue just for him in HW2. You hear it if you play skirmish with Arioch as your commander name. He was a bit of a superfan.
