I'm not sure whether or not I should laugh or cry.

What do you mean assembled? If you mean put together and painted like that, as someone who paints display pieces for a profession, you'd be looking at $98.

And before you say "it's a le large model", no it's fucking not, I saw one at my FLGS. It's about as much plastic as 1.5 space marines stretched out to make it tall, and who fucking cares anyway. $40 single infantry models are full retard no matter how you slice it.

This thing cost $50 in AUstralia. To put that in context, that's the same price a land speeder kit all the weapon options.

I swear, GW is just seeing what they can get away with now.
>>
>>46454297
Actually, Eldar Distortion weapons are S:D-lite. They can never Deathblow models, and always "wound" on 3's, as they count the result as 1 less than average.
>>
Time to form the Grand Xenos-Heretic Coalition to hunt down Space Marine players.
>>
If you watch the video, there's more than just a model included. There's a lot of other stuff, though it's vague on what that is exactly. Prints of old Rogue Trader art and stories.
>>
They used to give stuff like this away free on White Dwarf magazine for an anniversary. Now it's £18 for a single sprue making one plastic miniature. Total joke. They could churn these sprues out for a few quid each. But theure into all this expensive artificially limited rubbish now.

Sorry to say this in a /tg/ GW hate thread but you do realize that when you buy a mini you're paying for the design, sculptor and various GW overheads as well as the raw plastic, i mean if they were charging $40 for a block of plastic and a scalpel your point would be stronger but it's not.

Then why am I paying less for minis for other games while they usually have 1) better sculpt 2) way fewer models produced per mold.

Example in pic, grabbed the first Infinity special character from their website, it's less than $20 (and made of sturdier materials than GW plastic).
Major difference is that one has a disk, the other has a small support character.

Worst, he's allied with Achilles.
One of the issues with recreations is that the AI that produces them has little regard for historical accuracy, and uses all manners of sources probably including internet fanfiction and ERP threads.
So Joan of Arc is a blonde bombshell, Avicenna is a woman, Achilles looks like Brad Pitt, and so on.
After all, what really matters is that they are marketable to the masses of the 23th century.

And some people thought the japanese transforming everything into little girls was bad,

Pretty sure the distortion weaponry is a reference to Rogue Trader era fluff. It's pretty clear this is meant to be a one-off limited edition collectable piece trading on nostalgia, not a gameplay character.

I don't intend to support a company such as Games-Workshop. Only way I can do this now and not hate myself is indirectly, via their licensed products (read: vidya).
I've assembled a Guard army. I was going to get a Marines and even a Sororitas one, but fuck it. Now I only give money for Infinity and collector miniatures like Dark Sword.
I mean, if at least the game was better.

Plastic is best for multipart posable kits obviously by for single monopose minis pewter is superior

avicenna is only a woman because black hand and hassassins jailbroke him and gave him a new body to hide in, some custom job that's just as advanced as a recreation body. Then they let her loose on the world, free of aleph.

But plastic, when glued, stays together. Infinity models require pinning on 2mm atennas, or they act like a HE round the second they hit a hard surface or someone touches them wrong. Also fuck gluing a braid to the head of the Mk3 proxy, fuck it to hell.
>>
>>46455043
This shit will not go up in value.
You can get the 30th Anniversary White Dwarf on Shield or Harry the Hammer for retail price, no problem. Hell, you can get the 25th Anniversary Marine on Amazon RIGHT THE FUCK NOW.
GW Models don't go up in price unless they are some extremely sought after miniatures that went OOP. These anniversary models are not that, because they are not playable and there is much higher demand for playable miniatures. Hence why so many LotR minis went up and now the same thing repeats with certain WHFB minis.
>>
>>46459301

That one is, there's a few like that. Those models eventually get a release model that's a different pose.

It's not like they're going to release an exclusive special model this once with its own special rules and profiles in the army builder and books without giving it a model for general release.
