>TIME AVAILABLE (TIME ZONE PLEASE)
We play like 11EST-8PMEST on Sundays. If you can't make it the whole day that's understandable; we're aware it's a long time to sit and play, but it's always fun and if you can only be there for part of the time we'll figure it out.

>VOICE OR TEXT
Text. We use Roll20 and Skype for OOC bullshit.

lex.marion on skype, there's a lot of things that pop up apparently. My name is just Lex and my avatar is an illustration of a girl. Leave your skype info if you can't find it.

>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1) Palladium is a super simple system to learn. If you're a first-timer with it, don't sweat. We'll hold your hand and you'll pick it up fast.
2) We're a group of 5 friends who play a ton of games together. Right now we're getting ready to start a low-power superhero game, but it varies what we play from week to week, usually we vote for it. We also have a high-power hero game, a modern-day supernatural game, and a horror house game going. If you're only in it for the low-power super game, that's cool I guess, just know we won't play that every week.
3) We talk a lot in our skype OOC group, both about the game and things that are not the game. Just be prepare to either /alertsoff or join in and hang out with us, preferably the latter because we're not cliquish assholes.
4) Our games are very narrative-based, and there's faaar more RPing than combat. Murderhoboing is not our style, figuring shit out via storytelling is.

I need one(1) or two(2) players for a game of:

FALLOUT: FLORIDA

It's in the Fallout setting(mostly), in Florida(kind of). There will be chems, guns, gatorclaws, ghouls and more chems.

The game will be run using Unisystem(the AFMBE system), a light but robust d10 system(not dice pools, though. Fuck StoryTeller with a rusty rake).

The game will be running tuesdays, 7pm GMT/8pm GMT+1/whatever the fuck that is in your time zone, starting on the 5th of April, sessions estimated to run about 4 hours.

The game will run on the SupTG(http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/index.html) IRC, and I, PurpleXVI, will be the GM. Please be a cool dude.

Drop by the #TSC channel on the IRC or PM me there if you're interested.

I am looking for reciprocal 1x1 campaigns. I run a game for you, you run one for me. Competency with grammar/syntax/spelling is encouraged. I got one really good response last time, but I'm always looking for more people.

What's the appeal of running one on one campaigns, why wouldn't you wanna play in a group? asking for the sake of discussion and bumping

I do play and run group games, just with friends I've known for a while either online or IRL. Fewer flakes, and I actually like being around my friends.

The appeal of playing/running 1x1 games is not having to 'share' attention, which sounds selfish, but it's true even as the GM. It's just much easier to tell the particular story you want or the story of one particular main character.

From a non story-based perspective, it's much easier to schedule, you're less likely to get flakes, and it's easier to play/run the system you want to. I mean, with just two people, you can go back and forth via IMs with each person just responding whenever they're free. Sometimes you reply once a day or you take a few hours and pump out twenty. Forum-based PbP is also an option.

>>46404644
Only faggots play text anyway.
>>
>>46423624
Okay, well I don't want to join a game assuming it's voice then get told it's text only. It's more to let people know you're a faggot then to accommodate them.
>>
>>46423770
Well personally I just assume all fa/tg/uys are kind of faggots and go to roll20 for recruitment, where ratio is a little bit better. I kind of hear you though, when I advertise for a game I've been adding 'VOICE ONLY' to it recently just because there are too many people out there thinking we are living in the 80s and IRC is the shit.

> voice

You'd literally NEVER get me to join or run a game with voice.

From a purely practical perspective, I like having a log of everything said and rolled in case I need to scroll back and refer to something. Especially as a GM this is fucking vital.

From more of an immersion perspective, I find it incredibly hard to imagine anything but a herd of fatguys when I actually hear their voices. Text makes it a lot easier to imagine what's going on, to conjure up mental images. And, frankly, most people are more verbose and better at describing stuff in text. It also makes it easier for people to roleplay charismatic characters when they actually have a bit of a pause for their dramatic statements and speeches.

The only sort of thing I'd see an advantage in voice for, would be beer & pretzels dungeon crawls, very hack and slashy or crawly games. But, again, the fun social aspect of them kind of vanishes the instant the other people aren't physically there, so that doesn't work for me either.

All of this. It's just better for me because of roleplaying and immersiveness. I get that it's different for other people and that's cool but it's pretty fucking silly when people assume the only reason you don't want to use voice is because you're an aspie nerd or something.

Mostly its a case of I'd be more comfortable talking to people if I knew they weren't going to spew utter shit from 4chan as memes all the damn time.

But yeah, text is preference to strip away a lot of stupid jazz; voice OOC is best when you get a group worth talking to. That's the rub.

Well, you can confirm they're not going to be meme-spewing dorklords by, you know, talking to them for a bit before the game starts. Not just meeting for the first time when the game begins.

Also, I can sadly confirm that some people are happy to do their dumb meme shit vocally as well as via text.
>>
>>46424369
I have shitted on text-only in the past for how antiquated it is, but in the end, it's not; you get to use speech punctuation and detail to great effect and have some extra time to deliberate if needed.

If you're RP-centric, it's amazing.
>>

>>46433367

Also, as a player, it has other advantages. Sometimes some characters will take center stage while others fade a bit into the background, with a text game, while the rogue is off doing some sneaking with the bard, and my fighter is waiting out front for them to open the gate so he can come in blades flashing, I can pop out of the room, make a sandwich, come back in, quickly catch up on what I missed by reading.

And I don't have to mute myself while eating the sandwich or whatever so I don't chew into everyone else's ear.

Or just something as simple as going to the bathroom without having to ask everyone else to please stop the game for five minutes so I don't miss anything while I take a dump.
>>
>>46432925
In my most recent case, what started off as a decent bunch has gotten 'comfortable' letting fly the memes and other such groggy things.

They're not total shits compared to what I've had, but god its just not working out these days.
