On one hand, it is kind of silly, but on the other, it does kind of amuse me to imagine someone with DR 15/Magic or so just wading through an entire military's crossbow fire until someone finds some magic weapon oil, at which point they can instead settle for mildly inconveniencing him.

Only a man borne of equal parts conviction and humility, can possess the determination to strength of character to know for certain. And by the strength of his chosen code and the faith therein, may cause the world to shape itself around his determination and character through strength of will alone, for he now has the existential incentive to do so and apply such meaning and definition in life

>Basic Telekinesis
>This ability is similar to mage hand, except you can move an object that weighs up to 5 pounds per 2 kineticist levels you possess (minimum 5 pounds), and you can move magical objects. Additionally, you can create a container of entwined strands of aether in order to hold liquids or piles of small objects of the same weight. You can dip the container to pick up or drop a liquid as a move action. If you possess the extended range wild talent, you can increase the range of basic telekinesis to medium range and increase the rate of movement to 30 feet per round, and if you possess the extreme range wild talent, You can increase the range of basic telekinesis to long range and increase the rate of movement to 60 feet per round. You can also use your basic telekinesis to duplicate the effects of the open/close cantrip.

>Telekinetic Haul
>When using basic telekinesis, you can move an object that weighs up to 100 pounds per kineticist level you possess. When using your telekinetic blast, you can throw an object weighing up to 100 pounds per kineticist level you possess, but this doesn't increase the damage. If you accept 1 point of burn, the maximum weight increases to 1,000 pounds per kineticist level you possess and the duration increases to 1 minute per kineticist level you possess.

>Mage Hand
>You point your finger at an object and can lift it and move it at will from a distance. As a move action, you can propel the object as far as 15 feet in any direction, though the spell ends if the distance between you and the object ever exceeds the spell's range.

Aether kineticists who weigh less than 400 or so pounds can have 30 foot flight without caring about the Fly rules starting at level 4. Discuss.
>>
>>46358973

They absolutely are, actually. Go on, look at other spells for the same thing. "Object" means "physical thing that exists". If it's only for creatures, effects say creatures. If it's only for non-creatures, effects specify nonliving. "Object" includes people.

Any recommendations for killing rakshasas? Their AC is damn high, their SR is borderline impenetrable, and their DR is a nightmare to deal with when one can only prepare so many align weapons...

At this point my only idea is to summon monsters, likely a Xill, and instead of trying to hurt it, spam all the claw attacks with the hopes of getting a free grapple off and try really really hard to get that paralysis bite off.

Could I have some help with statting a Harpy race?

Our GM for a soon-to-be campaign was alright with the idea of me playing one of the children of my character from a different campaign (Jade Regent, with pic related).
I tried for refluffing perhaps the Strix or even a Plumekith Aasimar, but we agreed that neither were a very good fit, stat-wise. Being a cool guy, he let me pitch a homebrew race, so I've been looking over the bestiary entry of a default harpy to come up with the ideas.

Based on their basic stat block and their description/tactics, harpies lean towards trickery and feigned seduction to draw in prey, which is a pretty obvious +2 to Charisma.
On the other hand, they're savage and not all too bright by base, so a -2 to Intelligence makes sense.
And +2 to Dexterity...because they're birds? Not sure on that one.

An 80 foot fly speed seems pretty crazy to have at first level. Maybe something tamer at earlier levels, that scales with HD?

A big one is their Captivating Song ability. Should it be ripped verbatim from the monster entry, or tweaked with player use in mind?

Is there anything obvious I'm forgetting for harpies that would fit a playable race?
>>

But isn't the one God most likely to cause these wrongs and pointless deaths Zyphus himself? How is the Obedience supposed to work if you're verbally rejecting Zyphus, or is it one of those things where you are expected to project all your problems on people who are unrelated?

Man, this book makes Zyphus sound less cool, and more like that whiny emo hot-topic kid we all knew in middle school

Anon, deities can't just spawn more deities out of thin air, or we'd be overrun with them by now. All children of gods are half-mortal, because their soulstuff has to go incarnate in a body like all the other new souls do. It's just potent enough that they get to be super ripped and have packages beyond the ken of normal humans.

>Yeah, it's this one, that's kind of how it works when there's a million gods, good job r/atheism you solved the case.
Then they are all equally as powerless to help the cause of men in any meaningful way. At the end of the day the god's are cluster fuck of squabbling super powerful outsiders that fuck mortals over when they do things they don't like despite their "non intervention" agreement. They help only when it's convenient for them, not out of compassion for mortals, but to fulfill their own fetishistic compulsions.

Frankly, Clerics of Zyphus don't make sense. If I could rewrite him, I would make it so that he guides mortals to discredit the value of divine casters. He encourages Alchemical and non magical medicine in place of miracles.

He would encourage his followers to aid others in need, but to discredit the works of the gods and their churches whilst doing so. They wouldn't deny the gods, but they would paint most of them as being abusive and using of humans. Only papa Zyphus is looking out for you because unlike Caydeen the hedonist. Instead of retreating to paradise he still stands with mortals amongst the filth and grime.

I guess I would make him that guy that got hurt once and is obsessed with making sure that no one hurts like him again, but to a detrimental degree/insane degree.

Given how wildly different various Clerics can interpret the same god, I'd say your version has just as much legitimacy as the jackass version depicted in the book.

There's a Cleric of Zon-Zon who believes Zon took all that horrible blackness into himself to prevent both he AND his sister from becoming villains. And that Cleric still gets spells from Zon-Zon, which means some part of what he believes has it right.

It's obvious Paizo doesn't intend for anyone to actually play a worshiper of Zyphus, so they wrote him to be as wonky and contradictory as possible.

But my favorite Zyphus Cleric is still this one. Pic Related.

>Given how wildly different various Clerics can interpret the same god Given how wildly different various Clerics can interpret the same god
This always bugged me. Especially considering how fucking worshipers of good gods can kill each other of interpretation and there is no intervention what so fucking ever(looking at you Saranrae). Do God's just not oversee who gets spells unless someone really, REALLY fucks up?

But that's an issue I have with Divine classes in general, they literally attempt to codify Dues Ex Machinas and that's just a nightmare. I kinda like the obedience system.

Something like Dungeon Crawl's religion system.
>you get Faith points for doing certain actions that align with your god
>you cash in Faith points to preform miracles/get divine assistance or get advantages for having high faith points
>Faith points degrade after a certain amount of time(depends on god/alignment?)
>if you commit a transgression or run out of faith points you begin to lose favor with the god. Depending on the Deity this may just mean not getting help or this may mean you're ass is getting smited on occasion.
As opposed to the current system of
>Ayy yo, let me in on some mo-fucking miracles. I didn't rape any peasants recently and my buddy has this rash...
>>
>>46361201
>Then they are all equally as powerless to help the cause of men in any meaningful way. welcome to pagan pantheons anon.
none of this is new news.

The reason the ancient world revered them was not out of love but of fear and need. If Baal doesn't bring rain, then we starve. So make him like you, make him sympathetic, guilt trip him, make him feel in the mood for fertility-making by enacting a bunch of porn for him, brownnose the everloving balls off of him, suck him dry or at least as close as you can get considering his ever-bountiful seed. Whatever it takes, do it, because we need rain, we need crops, and we need healthy babies.

Its part of what made abrahamic monotheism seem so different. It doesn't operate under the same framework. It's all "Okay, don't be a bunch of jerks, drop those fake pagan asses, and be generally appreciative for what I give you, including a few minor rituals to remind you cause I know you'll forget or take it for granted in a couple years and I'm trying to make this a longterm thing, and I'll make sure you're taken care of.
"Yup, all by myself, no more appealing to 10-20 different patently unreliable guys all supposedly controlling different vital aspects of your life, One-stop-shopping, isn't that neat."

>If I could rewrite him, I would make it so that he guides mortals to discredit the value of divine casters

Using Bloodforge, racial heritage feats, etc. whatever magic you need to pull out of your butt from any 3pp, what's the biggest size you can be without explicitly playing a monster race as a PC?
I'm talking some cocktail like quasi-giant/half-orc with racial heritage - troll being a Huge size, stuff like that.
I have a burning desire to play a really fucking big character that's mostly still a "normal" race, not a full-on giant or a full-on minotaur or whatever.
I don't mind the character being horribly weak due to the stuff it has to do to achieve a huge-ass size, it's only for a oneshot next weekend. I don't mind playing a class specifically for a passive, constant increase in size, but keep in mind this oneshot is level 4.

Is there a type of dragon that is okay to put against level 5s? I feel like my newbies have never experienced a proper boss fight against a big supernatural enemy yet. If not, can you think of a kind of enemy or encounter that could give the same kind impression with its sheer size and number of options?

Hard Mode: My players are the dumbest human beings on the planet and would probably TPK if put in a fight against the iconics.

Give them an Advanced Template Flame Drake. It's like a diet dragon.

>>
>>46362750
Pick small dragon. Have it fly-by use breath weapon. That should send them running. Don't be afraid to kill one or two.

The whole air-superiority thing will be a huge wake-up to them.

Don't have it kill the rest of them though. Let it retreat once they are burned and broken. It will give them a good villain to curb-stomp in a few levels.

I find it somewhat amusing that they both stick to and deny the DnD dragon gods. Tiamat exists, but only to start and is then never mentioned. Good Dragon Guy is SILVER NOT PLATINUM GET IT RIGHT.

Not getting art of Oregenus is a crime though.

I need a good way to bow out of a game. The GM is kinda crap (pulled up the Performance Combat rules for a random street brawl, has kept us at 1st level for a solid 7 sessions now, and I've counted at least eight enemies each with class levels in shaman or barbarian since the first session), but I can't really ditch it with a "Fuck you guys I'm out."

Any ideas? Every time I try and point out something that's off or wrong it turns into a debate over rules, the CR system, or poor writing in general (both his own notes and the PF material).
>>
>>46358946
Yeah, it's pretty much required to planar bind/ally them. Anyone evil who hasn't bound their soul directly to a qlippoth lord (thus ensuring they'll be swiftly devoured on death, and not turn into a demon) takes a -6 on any checks involved in convincing them to do anything.

Hey I'm super new to pathfinder. Would a Gunslinger/Hunter mulit be viable? Their prime abilities (i.e. Dex and Wis) are synchronous, but would the feat investment to make either class good/optimal make it not work out?

How would you RP a soulless clone created by technology after the true soul is out of the running? They've got -2 to Charisma, which is relatively subtle as changes go, but also no ability to advance or innovate.

Now what if the original was still around, but had transcended to a psychic AI? Would the clone be likely to rebel, or would that be too much like a new idea for it to manage?

My Iron Gods campaign is gonna go some real weird places by the end. Gotta keep those metagaming shits I call players on their toes.

I'd imagine it'd be a bunch of Fighters/Barbarians, probably Orcish, dicking around with a couple Wizards and Clerics backing them up on the sidelines. A Bard or Rogue is in the cast, but constantly manages to avoid doing dangerous/gross stuff.

>HEY ME URGOK BONECRUSH AND THIS JACKASS

You get to add Strength to damage, where guns get nothing unless you have specific class features.

You can nock an arrow as a free action, guns take standards and full-rounds to reload until you invest several feats, meaning you can never get more than one shot per round.

Guns break on a natural 1, unlike any other weapon in the game.

Bows have feats unique to them that give you even more attacks than any other weapon can ever have (Manyshot).

The list goes on.
>>
>>46363078
>I'll do that. Hopefully I don't come out the douchebag this time.

"Hey, I'm going to have to bow out of your game, sorry. Personally it's just not for me, I'm not a fan of low levels since they're too swingy, and personally I don't care for the performance rules. Good luck running the game, have fun!"
>>
>>46363132
Who?
>>
Speaking of dragon bossfights, is there any way to give them a better break in action economy? They have so much shit they're expected to do in an encounter. Can they take magus levels and benefit from Spell Combat?
>>
>>46363010

>>
>>46363176
Flyby Attack is the main equalizer, since they can fire off breath weapons and spells and still have movement to retreat to optimal safe distance.

Crush is another: huge or larger dragons can take a couple members of the party out just by landing on them for a Reflex-save-or-pinned at the start of the fight.

More like "I'm not a fan of <100xp per session, large groups of inconsistent players, or goblins having 3 levels of barbarian and the half-orc Ferocity ability."

There's too much pulling in of weird rules, upgraded enemies despite us being, you know, 1st level, and not enough xp to get anywhere anytime soon.
>>
>>46363237
Attrition isn't bad, though.

You need attrition in order to justify the need for healsluts. Without attrition, we would have no healsluts!
