My opponent just played this move in a one-move-a-day game. Are they an idiot or am I blind?

What the hell Xx53PH1R07HxX?
You're not supposed to ask for help when you play!
>>
You play h5. He plays h6. You play i5. He plays i6. You play i4. He plays i3 and captures 6 pieces. Or you don't, and he captures 3. I'm not very good at go yet, but he doesn't look like an idiot. If he hadn't placed there, you could have done so and joined up with h3.

Anon, please don't comment an ongoing game.
>>
>>46283146
Both.

One space above was a better move.

One space down and two to the left was a still better move.

You're still humped.

To be fair, no part of that is "asking for help".

Everything is going exactly as I have foreseen
>>
>>46284242
This guy was so...
crazy.
>>
>>46283336
I have tried my hardest to understand this using every coordinates on earth.
>>
>>46283146
Alright, maybe I'm the idiot. I spent the last hour brute forcing through every logical next move and none of them end with white capturing anything. I'm just a 25k newby scrub against a 16k anon. I could just not understand how this game works, people say that I'm screwed but I don't see it.
>>
>>46283146
Looks to me like he gave you free access to start mucking about with his bottom pieces. I think you're in the better position.
>>
>>46283146
Yes it's a a bad move for oblivious reasons which I was about to go into before it hit me that you're playing 9x9. By correspondence. WTF.
>>
>>46288390
Addendum: depending on komi white might still be ahead so watch out. But more importantly, the sooner you move on to a fulls sized board the better.
>>
>>46285323
Soooooooo scrubbbbbbbb

>Branch 1
You capture the stone he just played.
He plays just above the new stone you played.
If you connect your two groups of stones, he captures with the corner
If you fail to connect, he captures with the stone you needed to connect with

>Branch 2
You ignore the stone he just played
He captures your group of three stones
>>
>>46283146
The obvious responses are in your favor, your opponent made a mistake.
OR he sacrificed that stone to steal 1 tempo from you, that he'll use elsewhere.

It looks like letters go left to right, numbers go bottom to top. Pic related.

Right now the marked stones are going to die if white plays 1, so black's first instinct is to play there to gain some liberty. But the chain up through 6 results in the whole black group dying either way.
>>
>>46291480
Wait a minute, that should wind up with H4 being captured. Let me experiment a bit.
>>
>>46291480
I don't actually know go, but doesn't white's taking those 6 stones require that he has a stone on H4?
>>
>>46291480
That is awful. What are you, 25kyu?

Black extend,
white atari the single stone from below
black hits your last step
white extends above black's T shaped stones

I saw that >>46285230 didn't understand the coordinate system. I tried to figure out what >>46283336 was talking about. I just mapped out the moves he listed.
