They are not subject to the whims of flesh and everything that comes with it. They do not fear death, and they don't need to struggle for survival.
Skeleton is basically a perfect creature. Regardless of your race, sex, age, species - when you die there can only be two things left - either nothing at all, or a skeleton.
All skeletons are created equal, because all are equal before the face of death.
Skeletons can still be destroyed, because they are a physical object, but they are as close as we can come to perfection without shedding physical form entirely and ascending.

Maxed Disguise and Bluff and keep him constantly in armor and robes, then it turns out our adventure starts with the boat we're on sinking as an old man lobs a bunch of water breathing potions at us. I chug one as time runs out, Morte just jumps right in since I thought they were limited duration and wanted to keep mine just in case.

I played in a homebrew setting once where there was an insular undead nation, that didn't have much contact with the outside world.
The DM let me play the skeleton 'daughter' of the king, who ran away to the real world, because that's what princesses who are kept in confinement do.
She basically wore the full burqa with a veil, but was completely oblivious to people hating the undead. She was doing it to protect her royal identity. When the truth finally came out, she thought the party was making a big deal because she was a runaway princess.
Only the party fighter cared. He was constantly asking others "Does anyone not notice this?!" because like... Innkeepers would discover her identity, scream, and he'd come bursting in, but they'd be gushing about her colour of lipstick, not fearful.
So many stories.
