I had a meathead sit down and join us back in high school for a few sessions once because he'd seen us chuck dice and talk shop during lunch and figured he'd at least give it a try before making fun of us. He played a bard and considered himself to be, in-character, a rock star, and thus fully capable of getting "the bitches". It was actually pretty fun and our Stick-up-the-ass Sorcerer hated it. He said that he'd play if he saw another game around, but probably wouldn't pursue it.
>>
A few times, usually with pretty positive results. Had this absolute dudebro(the brother of one of my regular players) who wanted to join our group for a quick one-shot one day. He rolled up a basic sword and board fighter, and I placed them in a stereotypical rats-in-the-basement type level 1 dungeoncrawl. The guy ended up being really engaged in the dungeoncrawling and combat, his enthusiasm infected everyone else at the table, and we all had a blast.
>>
I remember trying and failing to explain the concepts to two cheerleaders in high school, when they asked about a Dragon magazine I was reading in Art class.

Either they were as bright as bimbos themselves or my socially awkward younger self was a shit communicator, or both. They thought the pictures were really cool though.
>>
My youngest brother was the closest we played to a meathead. He is very sports minded, extremely fit, but he dabbles lightly in anime and that one campaign dnd, if only because his 3 eldetbrothrrs are all into that stuff. Generally it's not for him, he is very close to the definition of a bro.

One campaign we let him join he rolled a monk, tried to play it as a frat guy, drunken master. Thus Ambrogino Delfamente came to be. Because he often went out drinking with his friends he was not available for every session. The dm used the drunk and passed out as an excuse why he wasn't participating in game. This lead to mang y tmes of the party leaving him behind.

His character was by far one of the greatest of the campaign. With many notable exploits.

One we loved was when the group took a caravan across a dessert we hired some merchants to take us and acted as body guards for reduced cost of the trip. Ambro's characer spent most of the trip sleeping or drinking one of the wagons. Including when they stopped halfway through the dessert at a town for merchant opportunities and the rest of the group decided to explore a near by tomb.

So 3/4 through the session ambro's player stumbles in drunk as hell. He sees us playing, "OH yeah , you guys were doing this tonight. I'm in." Dm explains how he awakens in the wagon. He stumbles out the caravan leader tells him how they are stopped for a few days and that his group went into the tomb out side of town. He heads after us.

Dm explains to him the layout and ambro is calling out where he is going.

Dm, you see a grand entrance hall with three hall leading out one straight, one to the left

Ambro, I GO STRAIGHT!

dm alright you enter a room with looks like a solved puzzle a large hour glas....

Ambro I SMASH IT NEXT ROOM.

he proceeds to follow our exact path through this place, always guessing right with no thought. Then
>>
>>46245828
Dm, Ambro you reach a dead end a brick wall is before you.

Ambro, I SMASH THROUGH.

DM, . . . the wall gives perhaps easier than it should have behind it you see everyone.

In game and out we are standing slack jawed. We were currently fighting an enemy after be lured into a trap the room sealed behind us. The enemy invisible we were having a tough time trying to get him with splash damage. Ambro smashed through when the enemy was near the wall the final low done as he is unconscious under the rubble.

Me, how did you get here?

Ambro screamd, YOU GUYS ARE SO FUCKING PREDICTABLE !

>>
He runs GURPs the best and we end up having amazing genre-transcending adventures.

In one game, I was a furniture-summoning cherry blossom tree that paired off against a fire mage while my party consisted of a mutant electric eel woman, canonical big foot, and a cyber-dystopic-future ramen chef.
I ended up rerolling after burning alive, but not salty at all. Ended up being a mute gunslinger who cooked mini-hamburgers (sliders).
Eventually, we met Ghandi and he offered to answer one question to each of us. My question to him was "How can I ask a question if I'm mute?"
Towards the end of the campaign, me and ramen dude had a cookoff between us. He was always having cookoffs with his alternate dimensional selves to collect their power, so my character thought it might be fun to compete. Unfortunately, I was better at making burgers than he was at making ramen, so I won. Dude committed seppuku over a hamburger. Gunslinger was never the same.

Meatheads run the best games.
>>
My original group had two meatheads in it, and they had a good time with the game. I mean, everyone had a good sense of humor, and they were playing fighters just trying to get their rocks off and make some cash, but that's also the motivation for more than half the "nerds" I play with. Had a bimbo in my college group, who played a barbarian. The only thing about her was that she was playing the most ridiculously violent character I think I'd ever seen in a game, and really didn't get why the rest of the party was kind of taken aback when she went into detail about her character taking folks' eyes out with her spear. "Well, then they can't fight, right?" Which, as the DM, I couldn't really argue with her logic.

The only high school stereotype I've been annoyed with in gaming was the stoner/psuedo-intellectual that kept going on about "challenging the concept" of the game, and saying his character wanted to react by pulling out cheeseburgers and shit. Like, trying really fucking hard to show us all how iconoclastic and above it all he was, when nobody at the table was taking things that seriously. The meatheads and the bimbo were super fun to game with, but that was the guy that was trying desperately to show everyone how superior he was and just annoyed the hell out of everyone for being a douche.

On my old table, there was one teenager who brought in some friends of his; one of them was about as unnerdy as could be - he couldn't even face up to telling his parents he was playing D&D, so he just told them he went to a random bar and drank the night away.

He always played fighters, and when we were playing Star Wars d20 he was a Soldier who never revealed his helmet. In any case, he did as little roleplaying as possible, and he would insist that he was "playing a role" anyway. He eventually left the group after falling out with his mates, who still roleplay, so that was that.

Met the typical 'pretty blonde girl' but I wouldn't say she was a bimbo.

Wanted to be a princess/warrior grrrl, somehow got every 'girl showing the men' trope into the sessions, kept asking about what the dice do, how the char sheet worked etc. Was cute for a while but eventually everyone was like 'FFS' she also would take forever on her turn.

Surprisingly she did not totally shit up the game and had actual moments of contribution/rp/development. I feel somewhat bad because we all gave her two weeks tops and began wagering on when she would go, but she ended up coming to the game like clockwork for three months.

On the weekend of my 22nd Birthday we (as in me and the group + extra friends) went out to celebrate. Long story short she and I became FWB and she stopped showing up to the game. Fast forward a year and she began to get awkward, dropped out of uni, put on a crap load of weight and generally had some sort of semi-mental breakdown. She now sells homemade jewellery from a stall in the local indoor market.

Not even kidding.

Another guy who sort of qualifies as a "meathead" is a guy who joined my table recently; he's a medic who joined the army because it was either that or go to prison (Hong Kong doesn't fuck around) and it made him stop being a cunt. He was kind of disappointed when his first PC died (survival horror, man) but he carried on and made a telekinetic sociopath who made the game go further south than even the GM originally intended.

The mayor's wife was hysterical because she wasn't allowed to see her baby. The fact that the baby died two days ago in a blizzard didn't matter to her, she just wanted to see her baby. She'd been locked in an office, but she was yelling and banging the door. Given that the giant alien ants who killed most of the colony can tunnel through solid rock AND are attracted to sound, this wasn't an ideal situation. Army guy's PC was a "I have to survive, no matter what" kind of guy, and was hovering outside the door. My character and an NPC decided we should give her a sedative. As soon as we opened the door, the telekinetic had line of sight, and gave her an aneurysm. She died within seconds.

There's a reason unregistered psychics are to be shot on sight in this setting.

Nothing to do with RPGs but on a school field trip in high school I had a basketball player ask me about a warhammer novel I was reading. How does it feel to know that bimbos and meat heads are more fun and involved players than your typical nerd?
>>
>>46255064

you mean, how does it feel knowing people with actual people skills are fun to be around as people? i dunno man, wet water etc.

that's sorta why i don't invite nerd-ass nerds to tabletop games unless they are balls-deep passionate about philosophical garbage or know how to have a good time or such
>>
>>46244685

I guess I AM the meathead.

When I started dating my now fiance, I was introduced to her friends. My gaming habits at the time consisted of competitive World of Tanks and Wargame AirLand battle on a Lenovo "gaming laptop". My other hobbies consist of firearms and motorcycles. They were all classic nerd types into D&D (along with MTG, DOTA, and weeb shit), and eventually just hearing them bullshit about it, I decided to give it a try. They were starting a new campaign so I rolled a character. I had never played any kind of tabletop game, or done any role playing (no drama or anything like that in school either).

So I made a fighter to keep it simple. The DM set us up on a flying cruise vessel and we took it from there. It's now evolved into an airship pirate campaign, and while I'm not in love with D&D I feel like I could get into other roleplaying games, especially if they had more sci-fi oriented settings. I've never really been crazy about fantasy. My first character died when, staying true to character, I got piss drunk and started an argument with a local cartel boss. Ended up shackled by my cock for three days, getting released, only to die in a bridge collapse during prisoner transfer.

Rolled a new Ranger character that's tied into the world, lore, and connected to my previous. I probably attend 4 out of 5 sessions.

I've now gotten a few of them into shooting, and at least one is planning on buying a motorcycle. Cultural exchange!

Bro. Traveller. It's the other classic, less popular than D&D only because of several shitty editions in the '90s. The current version is here:

If it was rape it was consensual seeing as she'd come over every other night to screw around.

Maybe I could have been a bit more sympathetic to her emotions but by that point consistent sex, gaming and partying had me so...yeah.

Well, during my years in junior high, we had our own little nerd group of friends (from different schools). I was usually the spokesperson for our roleplaying group and it was mostly left to me to recruit new players.

I did manage to get this one nerd girl (the female version of me basically) into our group for a while. She had a blast and started her own group afterwards.
But she did do her own kind of magic and introduced me to her friends.
One was the popular cheerleader-type (we don't have cheerleaders). The prettiest girl in the school with good grades, friends with everyone etc.
The other was a true bimbo. She was a hilarious airhead type of a girl (not in a bad way).

They both agreed to try out at least once, when we got into the topic of my hobbies (both were interested and insisted on getting to try it, so my task was easy).

The first girl came to play some Cyperpunk with us. She had a medic who was into skingrafting and fashion mutilation (which wasn't really as weird when she described it).
We managed to play one one-shot session.
After that, she decided that it was fun, but not her kind of fun.
She then used to hang with us for the rest of our school.

The second one came to play some Shadowrun and immediately made a biker with a whip for some reason. She was into really violent things and liked to pick a fight with any NPC :)
It was just her kind of fun.
She joined my permanent group and was a regular player for years to come.
We're still friends 15 years later.

Both of those "bimbos" were really fun players.
We never had any problems with them and our "regular nerds" unless you count some date invitations (The first one took me on a few dates and the second one had a short relationship with one of our other nerds).

For some reason the regular male "meatheads" haven't even talked to us, ever. I did manage to play with my meathead cousins once or twice and that was a lot of fun.
->
>>
>>46264753

One cousin came to play WEG Star Wars D6 with me and my sister. He played a child-character (it was a template, which he liked).
And all in all, he was really good at it. He wasn't too much into violence, but liked to play pranks with people in character.

Sadly it was short lived, since life happened :)

In my experience, the bimbos and the meatheads can be very fun players. And we did manage to convert that airhead bimbo into a weird semi-nerd :)

All my life, roleplaying has gotten people together and I still keep my table open for anyone who's willing to try :)

I played the most trite and cliche musclebound "wenches and mead" barbarian, sure.
It was a relaxing goof-off game and it wasn't that unpleasant. It felt good to have a character who laughs a lot for no reason, playing glum and serious characters for too long does something with your psyche.

In the old days, people realized that 1d4chan was a wiki, and if there was a problem with it, they would edit it to fix the problem.

Nowadays, if someone notices a problem, they will make a thread complaining about the problem rather than just fixing it themselves.

Bimbo. One of my players girlfriends who was wondering why he took one day of the week to not be with her.

Long story short, everyone did their best to include her, explain to her and let her do what she wished. Unfortunately, she was a rabbit in the headlights the entire time and started just responding to things with "I stab them in the face."

After about a month she quit and thankfully our bro had the balls to continue on despite her niggling in the background. I love rpgs and I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but some people just do not get them at all unfortunately.

I played as a Super Mutant in a Fallout game. He was best friends with a little girl from a Vault, who was the brains to his brawn, and who was trying to teach him how to be friendly, instead of being a shouty berserker all the time. It worked, mostly, but he was clumsy and unaware of just how strong he was, occasionally breaking things without really meaning to.

Of course, he went right back into being a shouty berserker when he was hurt or when people he likes were hurt, so he was never really trusted by anyone other than Vault Girl. In party terms he was a big dumb brute with a sledgehammer who smashes things up close.

Shame the game didn't last long.

They do if D&D is getting popular.

Sandi was always my favourite Daria character. Her zingers were even better than Daria's a lot of the time.

then they should make pages that they think are good. Then they can say "we want more pages like this" instead of just bitching around

Jocks/meatheads are pretty good. With the right group to keep them somewhat reigned in, they bring a lot of energy and light-heartedness to a table. Left alone or in large groups, they can throw themselves off a plan real quick though.

Airheaded bimbos not so much. They either are too distracted by all their social media, or don't really "get" the point of the game. The other types end up going too far into fantasy and end up making "perfect" characters, more or less unlikable.

Both are still 100x better than weebs.

What do I roll to meet a girl with a short skirt and a long jacket?

I've never met any stereotypical people like that... One of the dudes in my old group was obsessed with martial arts if that counts. But he had some weird neckbeard traits. Also... He kept trying to antagonize male players to fight him and female players because it was his fetish.

It is borderline impossible to get girls into roleplaying games unless they already rp or something.
