Either the Daemon of the Maledictum and Ulkair knew each other and Ulkair owed the former a favor or Kyras wasn't 100% Khornate. Evidence of that can be found in the Shrines to Nurgle and Plague Marines, Shrines to Tzeentch, and the Noise Marines.

Abaddon is the Warmaster of Chaos. Kyras was going to sacrifice the entire system and a Space Marine Chapter.
To Abaddon, only he is deserving of such a claim as he saids in the campaign.
Abaddon has lots of rivals and Kyras in his proto-Daemon Prince form was absolutedly massive so he sees Kyras as a threat but also unworthy at the same time.
Timewise, it's happening in M42, the 13th Black Crusade is still ongoing at this point.

Abaddon was mainly assblasted that a traitor legion offshoot wasn't on his payroll, and the idea that this unworthy faget was going to waltz in and sacrifice them before he was done really pissed him off.

I think I've only beat wave 20 twice legitimately. Once I was using a farseer to teleport around the arena and cast mass confusion repeatedly until everything killed each other.
The other time was one of my favourite matches of of all time. I was playing a minion Hive Tyrant with a guard, ravener and warrior. My two teammates were both chaos sorcerers using the buffed clone minion skill that let them duplicate boss monsters. When wave 16 rolled around I had them clone ME. With 2 sorcerers and 3 hive tyrants and 9 minions we totally steamrolled the rest of the match. Good times.

I think the main problem with wave 16 is that it was designed with the original trio of heroes in mind. Those heroes are somewhat weaker than those that came afterwards because they don't have easy access to knockdown protection, if they could get it at all. The space marine captain for instance has one specific armour that makes him unshakable, and it doesn't nothing else. You are spending an entire item slot just for that bonus. Same deal with the general and the sorceror.
Then later on you had a lot of power creep with the Hive Tyrant, the Tau and now the Necron lord who all get unshakable for free. It's a huge pain in the ass because if you can't knock them down you can't stop them from reviving other heroes.

You aren't meant to bring self-revive on Colisseum, only on Anvil. And before you go "muh loadouts", Colisseum can be beaten without any revival items. I finished with the scythe and Immortal Reclamation, at lvl 14 or so.

Like, sure, you can solo the avatar. But a level 1 mek can do that. You have no trash or aoe unless you want to give up more armor for the nightbringer commander item.
Being durable does not make you good when you are melee focused and without mobility, there's a reason FC sucks compared to the Mek or Tau Commander. Those same reasons apply to the Overlord.
