How do you guys think the Custodes were, mentally speaking, in 30k? And in 40k, after 10 thousands years of fighting daemons under the Palace, and warp tome dilation not helping, as well as seeing their dear Empy slowly dying? Depressed much?
I've read a few 30k books where there were featured, and they seemed to be pretty human, without the brotherhood feeling of the Astartes, which I expected, but still, apart from their combat prowess, I found them quite underwhelming. It was only in ADB's books though so that might play.
I don't know much, but have a bump picture because it interests me

I feel they'd have some contempt for space marines
> after 10 thousands years of fighting daemons under the Palace
the golden thrones keeps the warp rift closed
They're just feeling overly pompous and pass the time with good hearted bloodgames fun
Stormcast?
They've kind of...lost it.

Aren't they pretty self centered and more or less Thunder Warriors with their "kill fuck murder" toned down? I can imagine they're just pricks doing whatever they want in the palace, aka guarding it, and largely ignorant to what goes on outside.

Wasn't it very heavily hinted that the battle was still raging on under the Palace during a novel?

They do need to interfere in the Cue Wars at the very least.

You wouldn't be more suspect if you shopped your face into a gay parade wallpaper.

They lacked freedom of will. Apparently.
Speaking of stuff they've done, they were also instrumental in ending the Reign of Blood, though it took them a hell of a long time to actually act (or rather, to even find out what was going on outside the palace).
