Post cool Space Marine Chapter colors. That is all
>>46083562
I just made this one, is it any good?
>>46083562
Pimping ain't easy.
My homebrew chapter uses this kind of colour scheme. A black and dark grey tiger stripe, with some light grey/white highlights.
>>46083562
The Astral Claws' color scheme was sexy as fuck. Too bad they're not a chapter anymore.
>posting your own color schemes
Jesus guys, come on.
>>46084121
>>posting your own color schemes
>Jesus guys, come on.
That's not even the real issue. The true cringe is when exactly 0 posters on /tg/ have a custom color scheme that's actually good.
>>46083562
Any chapter with very distinct differences betweem rank, company, and/or unit.
Like BA and their Guard, Death Company, and Devastator squads.
DA and SW too, etc.
>>46083915
look up scythes of the emperor.
they are pretty much the same color scheme.
>>46084191
I always liked the white arms/shoulders on elite RG SM's.
>>46084254
Too bad it's a bitch to paint since you have to paint the arms seperately.
Always liked the Iron Hands, especially in this art.
>>46084373
>That tiny hand.
This is a much better Iron Hands picture.
Found this pic and have now fallen in love with the Hammers of Dorn color scheme.
>>46084408
>That tiny hand
It's a robotic hand not wearing a gauntlet anon, that's how big it'd be if it were flesh. Also:
>punctuating and capitalizing your greentext
>>46084254
Same here. For some reason a lot of new RG players hate it though and want all black or some uglier variant of white veterans, like pauldron trim only.
>>46083918
Peanut butter and Jelly. FOR THE EMPEROR.
>>46084894
I can't see why anyone wouldn't like it. It looks great, and I don't even play RG.
>>46085170
I can never decide if I love or hate the Howling Griffons scheme.
>>46083562
Thoughts? Feel like I should maybe do something with the midsection, but at the same time I feel the fatal mistake with most color schemes is overcomplicating them.
>>46085830
Neither can I.
>>46084481
I now love this as well.
>>46086285
Looks good to me, could you tell what you are trying to go for?
Also, could you tell me the hex codes you used, the white and black one especially.
>>46086349
I have no idea what I was trying to go for. Space Marines are honestly one of the areas of the fluff I know the least amount, so I don't know all that's involved in terms of fitting in the fluff and making sense in-universe. If they were based on a chapter I'd probably go with Iron Hands or Imperial Fists. This would obviously be a command figure of some sort, the regular marines wouldn't have the cape and might not have some of the color accents. Oh, and the white and tan are supposed to be silver and a light gold.
Unfortunately I did not save the color scheme so the hex codes are lost, I didn't realize going to wargear would remove the option to go back.
Celestial Lions have a nice color scheme, looks especially great with more ornate armor.
>>46086432
Ah, a shame. I quite liked the Black and White colors you had there.
#D4AF37 Metallic Gold
#BCC6CC Metallic Silver.
>>46086459
Indeed!
>>46085830
It's simple desu.
The Howling Gryphons are wonderful to look at, and misery to paint.
>>46087148
I really don't care for them as a chapter, but damn do they look slick.
>>46087465
Forge World always does the coolest two color chapters. They put the second color in the coolest spots.
The pre-Mortarion Dusk Raiders have one of the best color schemes in all of 40k. It's simultaneously nonstandard, simple as fuck, and yet perfectly evocative of their mentality - the Emperor's red right hand, smashing foes without subtlety.
>>46087670
Fuuuuuuck.
I feel like I have to make a 30k force of loyalist Death Guard who've switched back to their old colour scheme now.
>>46084140
Bam. Here's a good one.
>>46087148
I have a huge boner for greek inspired things. That's why i love the Minotaurs so much. And they told the ultrafags to piss off.
Most people never respect the minor chapters.
>>46087148
Why does /tg/ hate the Minotaurs? is it because they beat the everloving shit out of the lamenters? or because they just hate the idea of a space marine police force?
>>46087670
>The pre-Mortarion Dusk Raiders have one of the best color schemes in all of 40k
That really does look great, but their Deathguard scheme looks pretty sweet there too. Love the subtle gold highlights and the one band of green gives it a dash of color.
>>46087805
I think it just comes down to them being lesser known, that is a cool look though.
>>46087870
>or because they just hate the idea of a space marine police force?
Mostly this I believe. Being the Imperium's attack dogs makes them feel like traitors to their own kind. It's an understandable precaution, but them being dicks on top of that makes them easy to hate.
>>46087870
I don't hate them, but I'd never play them. They're violent assholes who get to play with the best toys because they're the lapdogs of the High Lords. I understand they're not supposed to be likable the same way some other chapters are, but I just wouldn't play an asshole in an RPG either. They have their moments though. Same reason I wouldn't field an army of MM. Though, they're also yellow.
>>46087870
If someone went around being dicks and smashing other marines past the point of going too far, while being seemingly at the beck and call of the organization most people see as being inept if not corrupt, most people wouldn't like them.
>>46087755
I'll raise you this one I just made.
The Sons of Horus scheme is absolutely beautiful to me.
Problem is, I'm not sure how well it'd look on 40k marines, and everyone seems to paint the green differently.
>>46087965
It's power armor. If they filled it out like a suit of plate mail, it wouldn't really be doing it's job would it?
>>46087870
/tg/ hates the Minotaurs because they are the jocks of 40k, and /tg/ identifies with the downtrodden high school nerd. To make things worse, when /tg/ attempts to escape their dark, nerd past by using marines as cool idols or power fantasies, in come the Jockataurs to smash the shit out of them.
Personally, I find the Minotaurs and Marines Malevolent hilarious. They're dicks, but why would you get upset over that? It's like getting mad at dick characters on animated sitcoms. I can't imagine you people watching Archer if something like the Minotaurs triggers you this much.
Not to mention the "hurr I hate Ultramarines" and then the Minotaurs start a fight with the entire realm of Ultramar and now it's "hurr I hate Minotaurs they bullies".
>>46087870
/tg/ hates them because they're not a bunch of bleeding heart retards and jealous because they have the backing of the highest government on terra.
>>46088012
It takes a special kind of autist not to realize the guys whose name literally has "Malevolent" in it are being written to be unlikable.
>>46088005
I guess. I don't understand your premise. Why is his head teeeny?
>>46088012
>/tg/ doesn't like assholes because nerds
I never got picked on and I still don't like them , but don't let that stop you from making sweeping generalizations.
I also enjoy Archer, but that's because it's funny, or at least was, I've heard bad things about the last season or two, not because the cast is full of undeniable dicks.
>>46088070
His body is also proportional to his head. But the armor around his body is really big.
>>46088012

Here you go, Anon.
Have fun!
>>46087870
because they're special snowflakes who's big deal is being narcs
>>46088125
Oh yes. His armor is huge. His proportions ostensibly fit into that suit. So he has crazy long legs and walks around with his shoulders in a shrug all the time to fit in those arm holes.
That, or he has a teeeeny head.
Minotaurs are the inferior Greekmarines, both in terms of fighting quality and color scheme.
>>46088250
Sons of Antaeus are number one Greekmarines. Accept no substitutes.
>>46088243
I could say his legs don't go all the way done in the suit, but y'know what? 40k proportions are just wack as fuck.
>>46088271
I know. Some art is bad about it. That pic is fuckin rad but the head is wacky.
Also, I really like dem space carcharodon colors
>>46088012
They're the kind of dick that you can't really like, in that they have no real reason for it and never face consequences. You could at least argue the Marines Malevolent are dicks for a real purpose, or the Dark Angels backstab people because of their edgy reasons. And at least the MMs face censure and are scrabbling to keep together as a chapter, and the Dark Angels are constantly hiding the worst of their dickishness. The Minotaurs or the Space Sharks just go fucking wild, and get barely a slap on the wrist for it. Seriously, is getting banned from Ultramar that big a deal when you smashed one of their 2nd founding chapters anyway? Is being disapproved of so bad when you don't give a shit how others feel?
>>46088135
>>46088175
I'd tell you what these guys >>46087755, >>46084030, >>46083782 used but 4chan is being a faggot and is convinced I'm spamming whenever I try to post the link, so you're on your own. Try searching "Chapter Generator" or posts by "+ FRATER DOMUS +" on the bolterandchainsword forums and you should be able to find it.
>>46088271
The Sons are a respectable chapter, in spite of their... background. But even they cannot match the Iron Snakes.
>>46088330
Except there should be a rule that they must be spattered with red.
>>46084223
Inspired by the Hl2 combine?
>>46088271
> No pics of them anywhere
Sure are a great chapter huh?
>>46088330
I like the way he painted the terminator helmets but I feel like it's not as good as the "official" scheme.
>>46088097
>I never got picked on and I still don't like them , but don't let that stop you from making sweeping generalizations.
Do you fail to see the irony in going "well I'm not like that, so the rest of /tg/ must be just like me"?
Bullying victims, nerds, manchildren, and neckbeard are the de facto default populace of /tg/. This is widely known and common knowledge, regardless of whether or not it's actually true.
>>46088068
And what part of that post implied otherwise?

Fuck you Ultrasmurfs.
>>46085170
Fuck yeah.
The Howling Griffons have the best color scheme, best librarians, and best homeworld.Too bad they have barely any lore and are a bitch to paint. :'(
>>46087870
They are Crimson Fists but worse
>>46091543
I don't know, blue pauldron trimming with otherwise grey armor does nothing for me.
I wish GW would do more with chapter cultures instead of just making colors in weirder combinations as they start to run out. Half the reason that they could have pre-heresy Dark Angels, Raven Guard, and Iron Hands all at once was because there were subtle differences in colorscheme and culture, so it wasn't just black black black.
>>46087971
I like this. Its like a white templar sheme.
No competition here
>>46092735
I don't know why, but I don't like the GotC. Probably because I only learned recently that half the lore I ever learned about them is probably fanfiction.
I'd say the colorscheme's nice, but I've rarely seen it used, so it's hard to judge.
>>46093042
The only fluff they have is that they defended some system and exterminated some xeno race, are warrior-monks taken to extreme and have a basic knowledge about EVERYTHING
It is not much, but it is not bad
So I've finally decided to make my own chapter. All the fluff is worked out I just need an idea on what bestial companion to pick. You guys have any thoughts?
>>46093299
Pigeon
>>46093329

>>46084030
Has /tg/ ever made a chapter of Melee specialist that favor power weapon + shield?
>>46093655
Lots of chapters have done awesome things. Some aren't even that awesome.
Half the reason I like these guys is because they're bros with a Star Dragons chapter. How many chapters can really say they're bros?
Rate my scheme
Despite the color similarity I tried to make it reasonably different next to the Crimson Fists

Blood Angels and Imperial Fists.
>>46093679

Blue+gold+white/silver is the best colour scheme possible and it looks even better on Space Marines
>>46093875
I like it.
>>46094123
Meh, people kept arguing, not updating the wiki, not saving the threads to suptg or anywhere. I loved them, to be honest.
I still have all the pics and the agreed color schemes.
>>46094123
Some things are seen as awesome, some things are seen as lorebreaking. It's hard enough on the best of days to decide which is which.
>>46094123
And newfag anons kept coming into the threads without looking at the old ones, or even adding to the dicsussion.
>>46087719
I think one of the Horus Heresy books mentions a force of loyalist Death Guard reverting to their Dusk Raiders colour scheme and causing trouble for the Iron Warriors
>>46093679
No, it is my homebrew
>>46095557
>>46092716
Apparently the White Templars are an actual Imperial Fists sucessor chapter.

>>46098367
But then how would I see my incredible SM's? I'm not willing to make that kind of sacrifice anon.
>>46098432
Don't worry. You can still feel their painful existence in your soul.
>>46098641
Nah, they're my dudes, and rather just appreciate them forever. Gonna fluff em out, make a 1d4chan page and everything. It's alright that you don't care for the look though, I still love it.
>>46098826
Not the same anon, but I don't really care for the look. Might be because I just don't like the pixelated look compared to the other space marine painter.
But anyways, pretty sure this thread is about pisting your favorite official color schemes.
>>46084481
And this one is now my favorite.
>>46098826
What's their name?
And what's their deal?
Different anon.
Something about the Angels of the Absolution just looks fucking great.
>>46098826
No offense man, but if it's your own homebrew, I don't think it's alright to make a 1d4chan page about it. That seems a little...self-masturbatory.
Also, here's a minor chapter for those of you who miss the Astral Claws.
>>46099215
ABSOLUTELY PURE
>>46098826
>1d4chan page
Please don't. It's not your blog. And to be completed frank nobody except you gives a shit.
The Doom Legion, an Ultramarines successor with some interesting fluff - they were sent on the Abyssal Crusade, but only half of their chapter turned to Nurgle. They also own a fuckheug star fort.
>>46099530
Sometimes I forget why I ever chose the Dark Angels as my favorite chapter in the first place. Then I see a beautiful mini like that.

> Alternating colors THREE TIMES on the helmet.
Paint that on a model. Then get back to us.
Really people need to focus on keeping it constrained to just a primary color, a secondary color, and a trim color. Yeah it's limiting but how would you tell the difference if the bottom RIGHT of MY helmet was blue versus yours. I can post some examples when I get off work if this thread is still going.
>>46099611
So just to be clear - this would not make for a good colorscheme, in terms of the helmet, since it has four different sections of color?
Behold my work, and die from my eyesores. The one on the far left is the most recent version of this chapter's scheme.
>>46098915
>but I don't really care for the look
Fair enough, to each their own.I actually already posted 3 canon chapters I really dig, just thought I might post my own.
>>46098935
>What's their name?
>filename
>And what's their deal?
Dark Angels successors. Like the name implies, they're very proud of their chapter's lineage and stick to the DA company organization and combat tactics. Unlike the other DA's though they're unaware of the full extent of the legion's past and are not counted among The Unforgiven. The DA decided that after the creation of The Disciples of Caliban and the added scrutiny from the Imperium that brought, it would be best to distance themselves from other successor chapters created thereafter for the time being. The only Pride of the Lion marine with any knowledge of the Fallen is the chapter master, and this is only for the purposes of relaying information of any should they chance upon it and to steer the chapter away from any contact with their traitor brethren to keep them not only unaware of their existence, but so that they don't impede the DA's hunts or appear to be aid in them. The DA additionally uses The Pride to disseminate the history of the legion as they would have it believed and they act as the face of the legion.
So really they're just Dark Angels without the extra baggage, doing their best to live up to the first legion's legacy without having any knowledge of just how tainted that legacy is.
>>46099215
>>46099542
I was honestly just bullshitting with that anon about that, I wouldn't expect anyone to give a shit about my homebrew.

As such, they began searching for any method necessary to try and return the emperor to life, secretly dabbling in technology to revitalize cells and outright heal corpses. However, when the battle brothers they experimented on returned as outright comatose slabs of meat, their souls already taken by the warp, they soon gave up hope, until the Lord of Change, thought dead, whispered into the mind of the Chapter Master.
Dabbling in Tzeentchian magics, the convene of Librarians, the Chief Librarian possessed by the same Lord of Change, used a particular spell on the preserved corpses that managed to bring them back, complete with the ability to move and think - only many of them were utterly soulless and warped, their souls having already been devoured by the thirsting gods, and those that did not had been warped into evil by the dark magics. With both the husks and the crazed acting cruel and violent whenever set loose in battle, it was not long until the Emerald Falcons were marked for investigation by an Inquisitor, and as such, the Chapter fled into the eye of terror.
It was quickly discovered that the same wretched magics unleashed by the possessed Chief Librarian had utterly and totally fucked the Geneseed of the chapter, and as such, in order to expand their ranks and escape extinction, they were forced to make further use of the vile sorcery on Marines they slew in battle. Over time their vision was corrupted, though the new Overlord of the warband orders that all of the resurrected's armor have their right arm painted with the warband's old colors, and rumor has it he still seeks to use the magic to resurrect the emperor, blind to impossibility of the accursed task.

No idea what you could mean battle brother. Everything is 100% codex complaint here.

>large group of marines
>each and every one of them ignoring the necron pylon charging up behind them
"best" chapter. sure.
>>46104467
So Necromancer marines? Pretty unique, I don't THINK there's a canon warband that has that as their shtick. Nurgle warbands must hate them.
While the fluff is solid, they look like they'd be a pain to paint.
>>46104626
That one Dread in the back seems to have noticed. Only sensible Ultramarine spotted?
>>46104626
It had a large amount of explosives planted in it. It exploded mere seconds after that picture was taken. All part of the plan that only an Ultramarine could come up with.

Such a limited character creator. You should use the Chapter Generator program from Chainsword and Bolter. It has a CSM option, though it's still a WIP and much less customizable. Coloring becomes easier once you realize you can drag colors from spot to spot.
>>46104699
BE THEY BASED UPON SOME SORT OF CHAOTIC AND TWISTED VERSION OF EMPERORMAS?
>>46104579
ULTRAMARINES ARE FOOLS FOR NOT NOTICING THE NECRON PYLON BEHIND THEM. YOUR "WISDOM" IS NOT NEEDED.
>>46104779
I would use the chapter generator but I would have to check on the colors again.
>>46104792
Nay. Bodysnatcher marines that are basically all of the complaining CSM players make about the gear they have and loyalists get. They tried to get all of the loyalist gear by stealing the bodies of a loyalist chapter in a Lucius and chestburster like way, but it all turned into dust because the Chaos Gods are horrible monsters like that. After that the marines took their rage out on the sector, murdering everything alive in the sector.
I did a thing.

Just waiting for someone to make a new thread. I'm still fully game
Rate my Warband, the Golden Kings.
Planning on using them as villains in a Chapter Quest.
>>46104779
This is true. The multiplayer customizer for Space Marine is pretty good for how much you can customize, though you are limited to the colors they give you rather than the full RGB you get with B&C and Dawn of War's customizers

Learn to read, brother. I already said our scout sergeant Telion had rigged that pylon with explosives, and that it (along with the other pylons) had exploded in unison mere moments after that picture was taken.

And now for my own Dangle successor chapter and Supreme Grand Master Ketibiorn of the Tundra Talons. Not pictured is his Infernus Pistol because Dangles don't get them in the chapter generator for some reason.
>>46106358
Do they get them at all? I thought that was a Blood Angels thing.
>>46106399
I can get them on the vanilla generator of all things, but I think you're right on it being a Bangle thing. Forget it, this is a Dark Angel chapter who used to be a company that hung around the Salamanders enough to get influenced a little, and live on a former DAoT tech producing world with some shiny bitz hiding in the right places. I can fluff it out as my supreme grand master got the cogboys in the chapter to make an Infernus Pistol for him.
>>46105764
they look like hard candy
Another chapter, the Tomekeepers. reclusive even for space marines, they most often appear to assist a notable Inquisitor, or take down their enemies. This has led many to believe they are the Inquisitor's personal army.
They use the Codex, but see fit to modify it for their needs, most prominently with the Guard and the Penitent. The Guard holds the Chapter's secrets, and use entirely melee weapons, while the Penitent are the 9th company, but are made up entirely of former Guard members who spoke the chapter's secrets, given plasma weaponry with the expectation they will die wielding them.Inspectors of their corpses have found strange Archaeotech chips in the back of their neck, with wires that pierce their brains. Those who have discovered this have often been eliminated in short order.

>>46108301
Yep. Highlights being:
>Crows' Beaks, Corvorum Rostra if you wanna be fancy, but they'll look at you funny for using that.
>Raven Guard successors, Dark Founding, they have no idea what happened. Early awakening of some Necrons before their main arrival in M41 suspected but not confirmed.
>No Mucranoid or Betcher, genetically similar to RG.
>Tend to use gallows humor and think of themselves as warrior-poets. Jovial in the way you'd expect from people who got their names from a murder of crows. Prone to delivering a clever quip or funny couplet to boost morale or disarm tension in shitty times instead of being grim and bitter.
>They get a lot of practice with that, getting killed by Necrons happens a lot.
>Wear their armor pretty much constantly, very fond of "preening" where they take care of one another's armor and gear. Builds camaraderie and esprit de corps to have to tend to one another's gear instead of their own.
>Marines who fuck up their gear too bad to keep wearing it tend to be put in a lightless cell to meditate on their reckless behavior while repairs are made.
>Primarily like hunting Necrons because fuck those guys, but are pretty much into killing anything the Imperium wants dead.
>Live in a somewhat scattered migrant fleet, homeworld unknown and presumed lost. Mostly operate in Killteam sized units, occasionally winding up in larger units or mixing with IG or Astartes groups to chill with them.
>Prone to stealth, sneak attacks, and focusing on ranged combat where it benefits them. Often branded cowardly for this, though they consider it fighting smarter instead of fighting harder.
>They carry warpicks, because the fuckin' beak.
>State of the fleet leaves them short handed on heavy armor and vehicles, mostly just bikes and a few speeders for larger ship crews. Most CBs just bro up with other dudes as specialist infantry due to the lack of large numbers or heavy vehicle access.

Scythes have yellow torso, helmet, backpack. Black everything else.
Hammers of Dorn, coming through.
Best colors confirmed.
Here's the first version of my chapter scheme.
God, making a scheme really is freaking hard... Feel free to laugh at my incompetence.
Name: Forlorn Crusaders
Why was it founded? Strategic Prognostication
When? 32nd Millenium
Who was the Progenitor? Emperor's Children
Gene-Seed Purity: Pure
Demeanour: No Mercy No Respite
Flaw: We Stand Alone
Chapter Organisation: Divergent Chapter
Combat Doctrine: Close Combat
Specialty: Assault Marines
Special Equipment: Modified Weaponry (Two Handed Power Swords)
Beliefs: Emperor Above All
Strength: Under Strength (trying to recruit heavily)
Friends: Inquisition
Enemies: Emperor's Children
Fluff: Born from the Loyalist remnants of the Emperor's Children, these Marines have learned the lesson from their Elders. Humility is the trait they affect most, which paradoxically drives them to work even harder as they never find what they have done enough.
They are are inspired by Teutonic Knights and Crusaders.
Motto: Strength in Humility
Homeworld: Crux Prime
Terrain: Urban
Rule: Direct Rule
Fluff: A barren world where everything "ostentatious" has been banished in an effort to stay humble. Everyone is encouraged to think about their fault in one of many humongous cathedrals on the planet.
>>46111421
And the second (and final scheme)
These guys fight by getting fuckhueg swords, jumping and Dynamic Entry! their way into cleaving everything into reach.
They refuse to associate with anybody as they believe they should be left alone for their fault.
They are more or less the Anti-thesis of the Emperor's Children: instead of thinking "I can do better!", they keep thinking "I didn't do enough for the Emperor.". This also means they can come across as heavily depressed, but when it comes to it they are willing to redeem themselves in the Eye of the Emperor. Of course, whatever they do to redeem themselves, it will never be enough which could prove to be a dangerous slope even if they are determined not to reiterate their predecessors's folly.

Strategic Prognostication
Demeanor: “No Mercy, No Respite”
Chapter Flaw: “We stand alone”
Chapter Organisation: Unique
Combat Doctrine: Lightning Strike
Friends: Ecclesiarchy
Enemy: Orks
Figure of Legend: Chief Librarian
Deed of Legend: ‘The figure is remembered as the bane of the Orks, to such an extent that his name is known to the vile greenskins even to this day.’
Beastial Companion: (?)
Specialty Restrictions: Apothecaries
Homeworld Terrain: Temperate
Rule of Homeworld: Stewardship
Chapter Beliefs: “Honor the Ancestors”
Chapter Strength: Endangered -Forces consist of only five weakened companies and a scout company
Battlecry: With Steel and Thunder!
Bio: spread thin fighting multiple threats (Orks, raiding a craftworld, and assisting in a crusade), Chaos influence emerged and grew from nearby planets and the VoS homeworld of Natsigan became under siege. Reserve companies gathered and fought until more companies arrived. The resulting war ended in VoS victory with heavy losses. Apothecaries work to recuperate losses and are kept away from the front because of their value.
idk what to use as a beast companion, I'm considering using Groxs.
previously, the lower legs and knees were deep purple and the helmet was gold.

I don't know about that color combo man, looks pretty gaudy to me. I'd suggest changing it up a bit, maybe make the red gold or the purple yellow/gold/the blue you're using. At the very least match the knee color with the pauldrons.
