It feels weird that their plan was to kill off all three Titans in that block until the new block model meant they had to skip the Emrakil set. When they created the Eldrazi they were in the middle of building up a rogue's gallery which included New Phyrexia and the re-introduction of Bolas. Why would you simply kill off one of your supposedly iconic antagonists the second time they show up? That's just a really weird way to handle it.

You know, I could see it simply as a way of trying to keep some vestige of the story pacing of the three-set blocks in the new two-set block structure, by tying each block more closely into the preceding one.
Not that I'm saying that they're succeeding/doing a good job at it, mind. But I could see that as a potential line of reasoning behind the apparent sudden switch away from their previous policy of spacing things out a fair bit.

We could hope that the new plan (and the reason for having Big E show up so soon) is actually to have them try and *fail* at the task, resulting in shit on the eldrazi front escalating. Possibly in a way that notably changes the way eldrazi will function in their appearances to come, shaking things up a bit to add some new space to work with in terms of story and card design. Then they leave us to stew on that while they jump back to other villains for the next few blocks.
