Show me sum dice, be they cool, esoteric, and\or just plain weird. I'll start with these.

There is no way in hell that those are weighted properly at all. It's sad that GameScience makes the best dice and there is still plenty of room for improvement and people just want to make gimmicky shit instead.
>>
I don't see why people need to constantly try to reinvent the d6.
>>
>>46011801
The fuck kind of dice are those?
>>
>>46011801
Those are pretty bad.
>>
>>46011801
I find the idea pretty stupid.
It is a cool thing, but I would never use it in a game.

I hate D4's. They don't roll, they just drop. You can't stack them or really fit them into any conveniently shaped space. If you step on one it will destroy your foot. Remember when D10's were Icosahedrons with two of every number, because muh platonic solids? I get that platonic solids are sexy, but there are better shapes out there. The modern shaped D10 is so much better - we can make similar improvements to the D4 if we're willing to move away from ancient fucking Greek geometry.

Pic related. I don't like the "runic" thing they're going for with this particular die, but I want this shape to be the new D4. Die makers - get on this.

>we can make similar improvements to the D4 if we're willing to move away from ancient fucking Greek geometry.
nah senpai, platonic solids are the shit.

I mean, we got d4s, d6s, d8s, d12s, and d20s.
What else could you ask for?

what does /tg/ think of my collection so far? I've been thinking of getting a few of those coins that have every dice roll on them.

I think it looks like you stole those books from a library, you dirty rogue.

How does that work even?
Also are there any dice available that fold-out a la 'Dungeon Dice Monsters'?

Why do you all need so many different dices or some shitty gimmicks?

I actually paid 5€ for my set of random dices since I'd rather spend the Money on new books and not gimmicks.

Have you every tried to roll your dice and accidentally summoned a demon?
>>
>Rolling dice

You know, that is one mechanic that could be removed from the bulk of games.

Just have that many cards, quick shuffle, then draw. Suddenly you don't have shit getting knocked over and tossed off a table because hugo can't god damned roll like a proper human being.
>>
>>46025719
Cards as dice, and dice as cards have both been done in games before- though neither can ever truly replicate the results of the other. They both have their own mathematical quirks that make them equally valid as game mechanics.
>>46025683
Not yet, though I have been looking to buy a die/dice-popper that is not attached to a board game and not ludicrously expensive (also having the capability to change out the content inside would be ideal).
>>
>>46025719
>>46025780

Not to mention that, to a lot of people, dice just feel good. That's important.
>>
>>46025646
you flip it or toss it then you use the number farthest away from you. The concentric circles are the different dice, starting with d4 in the center, followed by d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20.

Pips are easier to read at any angle.
Also, if it's "count successes" system like shadowrun then I just color relevant values in different colors and everything else in black.
